Queens

In Kew Gardens, a 6-year-old boy playing in front of his house was confronted by a man who walked up to him, picked him up and body slammed him to the concrete on the driveway. The boy’s neighbor followed the man as he walked away and sat on a curb muttering to himself and told him that he was bipolar and wanted to kill the kid, who wound up in critical condition from the random attack.

The man was found to be homeless, as this attack occurred a week after a psychotic homeless man murdered four other homeless people as they slept and brutally beat a man by the East River Park days before.

The homeless man has been in and out of psych wards and back in the street in shelters multiple times and it was found out that he assaulted an 80-year-old woman and robbed her ipad and had a warrant on him for missing a court date for an assault of a woman at a fast food restaurant where he bashed her leg with a chair. This man is basically the symbol of this lenience given to perpetrators from this city’s court system and the non-existent services of de Blasio’s wife’s abomination and scandalous Thrive mental health program.

Also in Jamaica, a man murdered his mother-in-law at her house by slitting her throat as her grandchildren were in another room, then he rolled her in a blanket and dragged her down to basement to hide her body.

Again in Jamaica, two teenage boys were confronted then attacked by a gang who slashed them and stole their ipods and cellphone.

And again in Jamaica, a man grabbed a 14-year-old girl from behind and tried to squeeze her butt while on the stairs at the Parsons Blvd. Station.

And again in Jamaica, an off-duty fireman crashed his car into another vehicle while driving drunk and drove away.

In Jamaica Hills, a 16-year-old girl got shot on her shoulder from a stray bullet that was meant for a 16-year-old boy involved in a fight between two gangs by a charter school and the shooting was tied to the killing of the boy a few days earlier in a basketball court barely a mile away. The bullet is still lodged in the girl’s shoulder.

The suspect was caught and was revealed to have multiple priors from other gun holdups and brutal beatings and robberies of other boys this year. His unintended victim now lives in fear of going outside and of dying.

Also in Jamaica Hills, a man grabbed a 12-year-old girl’s butt as she was exited the 169th Station.

Sage and heartwarming advice dude.

In Douglaston, a landlord found a dead person decomposing under a pile of clothes and garbage left behind by an evicted tenant.

In Astoria and College Point, a man broke into four construction sites and robbed tools collectively worth around $20,000. This thief is very savvy to take advantage of all this over-development.

In Lindenwood, two stray dogs were running loose on the street and then a cop shot one of them as they approached.

On the Grand Central Parkway, two homeless men camping out on a longtime city neglected community garden decided to solve a smidgen of the homeless crisis that got worse under Mayor de Bastard and built an actual house on the green space. Which was immediately destroyed by the Sanitation Department who sent some men wearing hazmat suits like it was a gas attack in Allepo, Syria.

de Bastard sternly proclaimed that your city (meaning his and his donor owners) will not tolerate encampments. But thousands of people living on the streets and families living in hotels and residents living in inhumane conditions in public housing is suitably tolerant for him. Dick.

Here’s something I overlooked about the purge incident involving a bunch of high school kids going batshit and vandalizing a CVS store in Forest Hills in the last New Bad Days, the precinct commander Capt. John Cermeli’s even batshit response about the incident on Metropolitan Ave:

“There were still kids around outside of the store but nobody from the CVS management could identify who was actually doing what, so we really couldn’t just arrest anybody,” he said.

The commanding officer added that the students weren’t stealing any items.

“They were just being mischievous,” Cermeli said.

Oh you goofy kids, causing mischief by rioting like that. And thanks for not stealing anything so we don’t have to file another report and put y’all threw booking. The blue wall of insouciance gets bigger and denser.

Brooklyn

In Downtown Brooklyn, a man arrested for robbery and domestic violence jumped out of police car and ran away while in custody and as he was about to be processed at central booking and was still at large. He finally got caught almost a month later. This should be remembered as the city builds the humane tower prison in nearby Boerum Hill.

Also in Downtown Brooklyn, a man killed himself sliding down a spiral banister and falling to the floor at the Brooklyn Museum during a private event.

Again in Downtown Brooklyn, gunshots when off inside the Jay St./Metrotech Station at the start of the afternoon when some man pulled a gun by a token booth and started blasting. Five people were subsequently arrested. The biggest mystery is why this story is not that detailed as it looks as if it involves gang violence.

And again in Downtown Brooklyn, a brawl between two groups of high school students spilled into the Jay St./Metrotech Station where the fighting continued as cops on the platform tried to break them up. During an arrest of one teenage male who allegedly fought back, a cop throws a punch at a teenage who tried to intervene then punched another teenage male who walked by him and they get into a fistfight. A 16-year-old girl got arrested along with three other teenage males during the melee. The overtly aggressive cop has priors for excessive force and the second kid he walloped is going to sue the city for five million dollars.

Days after this incident expectedly went viral, the cop got transferred to another precinct. And as usual with the disturbing secrecy conveyed by de Blasio’s NYPD, the cop or what station he now patrols for has not been identified. So keep an eye out for him, specifically fellow cops because this guy is going to get you in trouble.

And again in Downtown Brooklyn, a gang member pantomined a gun and pointed it at a man who was testifying against his cousin who was being indicted for a home invasion armed robbery where they impersonated police officers to shake down a drug dealer.

The night spot has been a destination hangout for over a decade with a multitude of noise complaints and eyewitness reports of open drug and alcohol use. In other words, vibrancy in action. How did the night mayor miss this one.

Also in Crown Heights,at the Franklin Ave. Station, a man hopped the turnstiles and ran into the arriving 4 train with around ten cops in pursuit of him. When the cops reached the platform, all of them drew their guns inside the train car filled with other commuters and pointed their guns aiming at the suspect, who sat their with his hands up. The doors opened and the cops swarmed and dogpiled on him and took him away. The NYPD took these threatening and hazardous measure because they were acting on a tip that he was armed with a gun.

The vendor then took a metal chair and smashed it over one cop’s head, leading the cop to shoot him five times as he was falling. The vendor wound up dying and the cop wound up in a temporary coma from his injuries. The vendor, who had bipolar disorder, tried to get help with his family’s assistance but the NYC health dept. officials determined that he wasn’t a threat to anyone or himself.

City Rolls Out Blacktop Carpet For Film Shoot In Richmond Hill, Queens

133Liberty Ave. And 123rd street. Where the gilded asphalt path abruptly stops.

Richmond Hill, Queens, N.Y.

A week before Halloween, an encouraging sight sprung forth to auto owners and cyclists. The decade long dilapidation of Liberty Avenue beginning at Lefferts Boulevard was about to get repaved with fresh tar and asphalt. Being a cyclist myself, it was elating to finally look forward to a smooth path and finally see the cracks and crevices produced by many winters, persistent double and triple parking and K and illegal U-turns by overtly aggressive drivers remediated.

013

161

What’s frustrating about this is that a while back the D.O.T. milled and repaved the entirety of Liberty under the elevated train from Rockaway Blvd to the last stop at Lefferts Blvd but they decided for some damn reason not to stretch out the repaving 15 blocks east to the Van Wyck Expressway to at least make it look compatible as well as prevent the road from suffering from further degradation.

But in yet another case of diminishing returns of half-ass efforts from your city, it turned out that they only repaved 2 fucking blocks.

014

Even more frustrating and fucking maddening is that the long overdue road repair was permitted and possibly inspired and demanded to make way for a film shoot.

129

A day after the repaving, film permits appeared taped on lamp posts and this parking meter here for something mysteriously titled V3. It must be some sequel of some cruddy film franchise or maybe it could be a historic film chronicling the nascent stages of the invention of V8 juice when the beverage contained only 3 vegetables. The freshly paved scenery was supervised by someone only named Rocco.

rocco

The trucks and trailers with the Jersey or Penn plates and catering truck were supposed to arrive to assemble the proverbial fourth wall for the shoot on Liberty on Monday but a strange development happened on the day that footage above was shot the day before though, all the permits were removed from said posts and meters and the producers decided to move all their rigs on 103rd avenue instead and 120 street.

The next day the catering truck moved to Liberty and two charter buses appeared buttressed by orange safety cones. The charter bus facing east and the catering truck in front of that charter bus facing west were parked on city bus stops for the Q110.

018

020

And another charter bus was parked by 103rd avenue around the corner. I assume these vehicles were the mode of transportation for all the creative forces and talent involved with this project.

027And the action took place at Leo F. Kearns funeral home halfway down the block.

025

023

026Spoiler alert! Someone in this movie dies!

It’s been a week since this production, and being that it took two days it will probably result in a 2 minute scene. I came to this synopsis because the last few times that major shows were filmed in this enclave of Southeast Queens were HBO’s Bored to Death where they took a day to film Rushmore star Jason Schwartzman ask a cashier a question in a scene that was 10 seconds and the other was also by HBO called …the Night Of where the trailers took over 2 blocks for a good week to film some catalyst scenes for the first episode (sadly, the shows executive producer, James Gandolfini died a week after that shoot in Italy, man it would have been actually cool to bump into him).

Wait, I forgot the odious and easily hacked social media platform corporation that sold out their customers for billions of ad dollars and now government contractor Facebook filmed a show here in the springtime. At least they split so fast it was barely noticeable. Probably because they realized it wasn’t Brooklyn.

Too bad Broad City is ending, it actually would have been nice if those funny ladies stopped by and did some jokes about roti shops.

But I’m digressing, because this road upgrade was obviously done for aesthetic reasons for this V3 movie. Which gives the impression that some special tweeding went down to benefit the film industry over the needs of the driving and riding constituents and also essential bus transit service that continues to get neglected again and again. This can be verified by the I.M. exchange between Cynthia Nixon and Mayor Bill de Blasio when the failed gubernatorial candidate wanted to get her pal in City Hall to halt chopper flights over Central Park that were bothering her director pal’s Shakespeare performances there as she forwarded his complaints to him and your mayor happily and hurriedly obliged and got it done for her. It also helped that TV’s Miranda’s wife was working for Mayor Big Slow at the time as one of his advisors.

So the rest of Liberty will probably remain a broken ass mess in this broke ass city. As well the majority of streets that intersect with it and the avenues south and east of the busy avenue are in equally shitty and even worse. It doesn’t look like there is going to be any upgrade in the near future or even beyond as the new pretty, vibrant and hip burgs get nice things and the dirty southeast of Queens gets dirtier and rockier. And not to mention the massive renovation of the BQE.

And even with this sudden attention from Hollywood, which from the way this city favors this industry, has become an official citizen person of New York. At the expense of safe streets, commuting and the dwindling patience and sanity of it’s residents.

Super Mario’s Son’s MARVELous Fund Hemorrhaging Tax Credit To Comic Book Empire

NY Daily News: Netflix & Disney bring Marvel superheroes to New York City to film online shows

Gov. Cuomo and Walt Disney Co. CEO Robert Iger will announce Wednesday that four different live-action series featuring Marvel comic superheroes will film in New York and be streamed on Netflix, sources said Tuesday night.

The four series will take “Netflix members deep into the gritty world of heroes and villains of Hell’s Kitchen, New York,” an announcement last fall said. At the time, no filming location had been selected. Sources say Disney will benefit from New York’s lucrative $420 million annual film and television production tax credit program.

What the goddamn hell, Andy? The subway is in a state of emergency that you declared, which was universally assumed that it would get prioritized. There are thousands statewide addicted to opioids varying from illegally prescribed prescriptions and fentanyl-laced heroin aka 21st century crack. The amount of people homeless is at record breaking high levels not seen since the great depression and the photos of Jacob Riis from a close to a century ago, which is suffering from a chronic lack of available genuine affordable housing . The city’s infrastructure is collapsing from the weight of over/hyper development and overpopulation, the latter exacerbated by the overwhelming amount of tourism coming here.

And this is what you and your administration are busy vying the attention of and withholding millions of dollars for? For another tax credit for the dumbed down and frivolous spending entertainment industry?

What Disney and Netflix, billion dollar industries, don’t have enough money? What, the past 2 decades of prior filming welfare handouts weren’t sufficient? The only infrastructure this is going to create is the presence of space hogging trailers, food catering tents and cables enveloping the curbs. And more irritation for commuters and residents of the unnamed locations where these awful, childish programs will be filmed.

The city that never sleeps has now become, thanks to Cuomo and De Faustio’s even more irresponsible and power abusive rubber stamping filming permit office, the city that’s a free for all for celebrities and manufacturing entertainment defecations. This is a city where people who pay taxes have to live, commute, and work in, raise a family in, not a fucking goddamn borough spanning film studio. This isn’t Universal or Paramount. And most of all, there is no room in this town anymore for this bullshit.

There is no guarantee that these shows will do well, considering the costs of just 26 episodes for an online series, which relies a lot on binge watching and the oversaturation of these comic book films. It’s only a short matter of time when even the most dedicated of geeks will tire of it.

The governor and his cronies can brag that it brings billions of dollars to the city, but as I mentioned, what has 2 decades worth of tax credits to the entertainment industry accounted for? The worst fucking transit system in the universe and a never ending and rising homeless epidemic.

This governor has got to go. He has no concept of priorities at all and like when he ran HUD in the late 90’s (with de Blasio under him by the way), spends and reallocates money that doesn’t belong to him like an idiot asshole.

And he is doing this for a show with lame spinoff characters from Spiderman.
