In Union Square, a raging inferno went at a restaurant by the park that came from a pile of discarded Christmas trees stacked up behind a tiny realm of barricades.

A few cops on patrol were at the scene and all they could do is stand there like looky-loo’s like every other citizen watching the flames go higher. The FDNY arrived 4 minutes later and extinguished the blaze.

Since no one was around that got arrested or was suspected for the inferno, it looked like it was standard arson, possibly by a emotionally disturbed person given how the city still hasn’t come close to mitigating it’s mental health and homeless crises. But the blaze might have been ignited by a freak of nature too. The temperatures were an astoundingly unseasonable high of 65 degrees and it wasn’t even noon yet and above the restaurant/event space the sun was shining extremely bright and there was a powerful orb of light setting on the top of the edifice where the awning was.

An eyewitness on social media pointed the culprit was a luxury tower 5 blocks away in the Flatiron District on 22nd st. The top of the entirely glass building was magnifying the sunlight directly where the origin of the fire went up.

The luxury tower was the arsonist!

Unfortunately, my live scoop didn’t get much local corporate news interest and oddly enough neither did this inferno in one of the most iconic spaces in Manhattan and New York City with the exception of Eyewitness News that showed up much later after the flames were doused and the remains of the charred canopy and discarded trees dripped soot to the concrete.

Like every other small business owner, Ray went back to work the next day serving his loyal customers while dealing the scourge of crime and ultraviolence that has exploded in the last 4 years. Ray also lamented how their aren’t enough cops walking a beat anymore, which is another promise broken by Mayor Eric Adams to bring “public safety” back to NYC.

In Arrochar, two men boosted hundreds of dollars worth of power tools from a commercial van right before sunrise.

In Graniteville, a cop shot a dog to death while they were doing a wellness check on a man at his apartment when the dog bit him on the hand.

In Midland Beach, a rookie cop committed suicide at his parents house by shooting himself.

In New Brighton, five kids attempting to be the 21st Century version of The Goonies got stuck in a tunnel leading to the sewer underneath the Staten Island Zoo.

And to conclude the first New Bad Days of 2023, New York City’s rats are so emboldened and unafraid of Mayor Eric Adams and his conquest to exterminate them, they are now mugging humans with impunity.

Plus cops are quitting the NYPD faster than ever before and even more than in the pandemic when most of them were being extorted into getting vaccinated to keep their jobs. They also have been given strict grooming guidelines to trim their beards and wear the appropriate socks while on duty. But arrests have went up again since Adams took over, so they have been doing their jobs. Even though most of these perps wind up on the streets days later because of bail reform and District Accomplice Bragg lenient and drawn down charges for offenses and wind up getting pinched again because of their recidivism.

While the NYPD high brass is being persnickety with the men and women in blue, there is not even anyone to investigate them and their own hygiene and malfeasance since there hasn’t been anyone assigned to be inspector general since Adams never bothered to hire one.

And New York City is getting more noisier than ever and it’s led to a blowback of violence and death.
