Scenes Of Queens: The Van Wyck Garbageway

This scene takes place on the Jamaica/South Richmond Hill border on the east service road of the Van Wyck Expressway.

Queens Chronicle

Illegal trash piles have been growing in South Ozone Park, and with them, residents’ frustration.

Aracelia Cook of the 149th Street South Ozone Park Civic Association recently documented several of the chronic illegal dumping spots in the neighborhood, where 311 complaints haven’t stopped trash from piling up for three weeks.

“You have rats out there, raccoons out there, rodents — all these things. And that’s not to talk about the smell,” Cook told the Chronicle on Friday.

Cook reached out to the Chronicle after trying to work with the Department of Sanitation. There were two areas of concern for her — one at a residential intersection, and another along the Van Wyck Expressway service road in between Rockaway Boulevard and Conduit Avenue.

At the residential location, on the southeast side of 146th Street and Rockaway Boulevard, a large trash pile containing tires and crates sat on the sidewalk as of last Friday.

A 311 log from July 7 shows that a complaint had been “investigated and addressed,” but the trash remained there for weeks after, Cook said.

The mess at that intersection has been a chronic problem for months. Google street views from November 2020 captured a similarly sized heap sitting on the intersection.

After the Chronicle reached out to Sanitation, the agency cleaned it up over the weekend, but by Monday afternoon Cook said more trash had already begun to pile up again.

That is an understatement. Behold, like the cherry blossoms at the Bronx Botanical Garden, every week detritus is in full bloom in the dirty Southside Queens…

Someone couldn’t find a place to discard these windshields, but I can understand the logic leaving them on the street. In due time, cars will roll over them and the glass will be grounded naturally into the asphalt.

That’s how ecology works around here. Follow the science.

The Van Wyck Garbageway also comes with amenities like this cushy living room set, providing a break for curious immersion tourists.

Which makes the sight of daily traffic commutes and the occasional illegal dirtbike and ATV caravan evoke a feeling of trainspotting.

Remember to hold your nose.

Here are the ruins of a basement studio apartment.

This is a shitty way to honor the memory of Jaki Byrad, who was a seminal and influential jazz musician who played with Charlie Mingus and many other iconic jazz legends. What’s evident is that this exhibition of crass pollution and city indifference is a sad allegory for his career as a composer and solo artist and ultimately how he tragically died.

As a leader, Byard recorded a string of albums for the Prestige label during the 1960s. Some of these albums included Richard Davis on bass and Alan Dawson on drums, a trio combination described by critic Gary Giddins as “the most commanding rhythm section of the ’60s, excepting the Hancock-Carter-Williams trio in Miles Davis’s band”, although it existed only for recordings. One such album was Jaki Byard with Strings!, a sextet recording that featured Byard’s composing and arranging: on “Cat’s Cradle Conference Rag”, each of five musicians “play five standards based on similar harmonies simultaneously”.A further example of Byard’s sometimes unusual approach to composition is the title track from Out Front!, which he created by thinking of fellow pianist Herbie Nichols’ touch at the keyboard. Popularity with jazz critics did not translate into wider success: a Washington Post review of his final Prestige album, from 1969, remarked that it was by “a man who has been largely ignored outside the inner circles”. Giddins also commented in the 1970s on the lack of attention that Byard had received, and stated that the pianist’s recordings from 1960 to 1972 “are dazzling in scope, and for his ability to make the most of limited situations”. Following his time with Prestige, Byard had more solo performances, in part because of his affection for musical partners he had become close to but who had then died.

Byard died in his home in Hollis, Queens, New York City, of a gunshot wound on February 11, 1999. He was shot once in the head. The police reported that Byard’s family, with whom he shared the house, last saw him at 6 pm, that he was killed around 10 pm, that there “were no signs of robbery, forced entry or a struggle”, and that no weapon was found. The death was soon declared to be a homicide, but the circumstances surrounding it have not been determined, and the case remains unsolved.

Let this show that street re-naming is the original virtue signalling.

The Garbageway concludes at Atlantic Avenue, bordering Richmond Hill and Jamaica and the majestic high speed rail pillar of the JFK express train, buoyed by circle of discarded clothing and shopping carts…

Oh wait, this isn’t discarded and not ordinary garbage. People live over here and that’s all what they have left to their names. It’s unsightly and probably smells like hell, but it’s 100 times safer than being forced to live in one of Mayor de Blasio’s and Stephen Banks congregate decrepit, health hazard and crime ridden homeless shelters.

This is only just a segment of the Van Wyck Garbageway, but as the Queens Chronicle noted above it’s the most recognizable for frustrated residents and recidivist litterbugs. It might get cleaned up eventually, but garbage will continue to re-materialize as long as the grass keeps growing and the earth keeps spinning on it’s axis and as long as Southside Queens streets continue to be the city’s linear dumpsters.

So it goes..

The Van Sicklen Horror

Jamaica, Queens, New York

NY Post

A human skull was found outside a Queens home Monday morning, police said.

The remains were located in front of 108-16 Pine Grove St. in Jamaica around 9:30 a.m., police said.

The city’s medical examiner responded and determined that the remains were human and had no sign of trauma, police sources said.

There were no further details immediately available.

It’s not everyday the NYPD reports a skull lying on the sidewalk in a residential area. But in the obviously click bait generating article (which is not even truncated here and the Post used a google map crop for the lede photo), the home the NY Post is referring is an abandoned zombie house that was cited for a full vacate by the Department of Buildings back in 2019 after a fire and from the looks of it, it might have been abandoned even longer before that incident.

So might as well provide some further details the NYPD couldn’t provide (or wouldn’t).

Let’s enhance…

Looks like there’s a vacate order and other documents taped inside the door. There was also a summons left by the Dept of Sanitation taped to the fence.

Conspicuously absent from this scene of the grisly discovery was the NYPD themselves. If watching TV cop shows in the last 3 decades taught me, is that usually after a crime scene investigation when a dead body or human remains were found, there’s usually a thorough clearing of any detritus and collecting of any DNA in the area. It’s like they found the skull, surely on a tip, saw this mess and said fuck it and split, and lets only tell one news outlet about the macabre find.

You didn’t need to be Gil Grisson,or Bunk and McNulty to figure out how the skull was discovered though. Garbage bags were lying on the grass by the front entrance. It’s highly possible a dog sniffed around and discovered while some person was taking it for a walk. They were oddly shaped too as if other body parts were jammed in them and they look more like they’ve been lying there for months on end. Plus discarded clothes were found underneath a truck that seemed to belong to the NYC Department of Transportation.

Other discarded items were found outside and inside of the property, like this loveseat and a pair of red sneakers.

More unsightly trash was lying around the other side of the house at the 109 Ave. entrance. Along with police crime scene tape that was used the day before crumpled on top of the stinking pile, giving the appearance the cops didn’t want to bother discarding their accessories when they were done and took the opportunity to dump their shit here because it’s already a hellscape.

Although every window is boarded up, there are signs of easy access to the house for squatters. But if there was any difficulty getting in, the camper in the backyard would make a convenient substitute for shelter.

Perusing the D.O.B. files, not much is known about the prior or even current owner of this blighted property, but this home is steeped in Queens history. It was built and owned nearly a century ago by Abraham Van Sicklen, whose father was a New York supreme court justice who also owned a famous mansion in Jamaica and grandson of a renowned farmer in Brooklyn (nearby the train station that bears their name, sans the k).

http://vital.queenslibrary.org/vital/access/services/Download/aql:8325/THUMBNAIL_LARGE?view=true

Another thing steeped in Queens history is how the city’s landmarks and preservation office doesn’t take the borough seriously leading many houses of historic significance being abandoned and left to rot in perpetuity, particularly and notoriously in Jamaica, where critical mass foreclosures still grip the area and heinous blight like this is taken for granted by district officials, community boards, cynical residents and most recently by the NYPD.

Just like the NY Post blurb story and like the trees and weeds engulfing the property, this old house will continued to be overlooked and waste away, obscured and enabled by city indifference and negligence.

Update: A tip from my related blog Queens Crap  found out the owner is a elderly woman in her 90’s.  Another tip from that blog’s comment thread by Paul Graziano says the house is a lot older than what the city records said and is actually 170 years old. Safe to say that this might be as close to the 9th wonder of the world being that its still erect after a fire and negligence.

The Biden Administration’s Benevolent Fascism

Image

President Joe Biden, the boss of ice cream and current slayer of the first amendment

Washington D.C., U.S.A.

Publisher’s Note: This post is not to discourage people from getting the vaccines or is anti-vaccine. It’s solely meant to get more transparency about the vaccines and also about the infected. Because we all want a return to normal right? So what do these parties cited in this post have to hide and why do they still persist on hiding it?

When Joe Biden got inaugurated as the 46th POTUS back on 1/20, clarion calls spread out all over corporate news and restrained social media outlets that the chaos and disorder in the White House after 4 years of Donald Trump was finally eradicated. This was said even though the inauguration and most of D.C. was turned into a DMZ with  10 ft. high fencing, and a militia of National Guard troops and cops from other states assisting the Capitol Police surrounding the White House and the U.S. Capitol building; defense measures deployed after the MAGA Junta of the latter building two weeks earlier on 1/6.

But despite these dystopian optics which were supposedly justified to stop domestic terrorism, the incoming Biden administration was supposed to bring fundamental change of leadership and healing to the nation. And most of all, a resounding victory against what was generally described as a rebuke of four years of the tyranny of President Trump and the rejection of a potential fourth reich and permanent presidency that would evolve from a second term.

It took only six months to dispel all that, for recent desperate actions from the Biden Administration has established that tyranny is still entrenched in the White House and being enforced on the citizenry. But it’s done in a nice way without mean tweets and inappropriate conduct.

President Biden’s rice pudding brain was probably boiling when the news came that the nation wasn’t going to meet his vainglorious goal of total vaccinations when America’s 245th birthday arrived. It wasn’t because the vaccines were hard to get, states and cities managed to make them available everywhere and arranged house calls for them, the stickler about the widening hesitancy of the vaccines is that a lot of reports where coming in, either from online news sources and more likely social media accounts, that the vaccines were not as effective against the coronavirus as most were told they would be, especially against the Delta Variant contagion that ravaged the nation of India back in winter. Also many reports and personal accounts from inoculated citizens experienced adverse reactions from the vaccines and wound up hospitalized and even some died from them. Suddenly, instead of trying to figure out and produce data that sourced the contagion or even find out why people were suddenly afraid of them, the Biden Administration decided to attack the messengers.

They first sent out Surgeon General Vivek H. Murthy to issue a stern warning against Facebook and the general public that uses it and proclaimed that they are encouraging and enabling hesitancy and putting other people at risk while labeling such correspondence as “misinformation”. But he didn’t elaborate much further than that, he was more determined to cut down this “misinformation”, of which he didn’t elaborate much on either but was very clear that he wanted social media monopolies to do a better job deplatforming people disseminating this “misinformation”. Although he was vague about who should be banned and who was getting infected and doing the infecting, it was clear that Dr. Murthy was condoning the suppression of dissent on a public forum from a government position to a private company, a clear endorsement and perpetration of fascism.

The next day, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki clarified and confirmed the White House’s new strategy and policy by collaborating/colluding with Facebook to police speech and moderate content that they find misinformed regarding the vaccines. Biden’s press harpy also demanded that other monopoly social network platforms should also enforce the ban on their alleged 12 targets of vaccine dissenters, basically announcing the genesis of government/social media integrated blacklist.

Psaki is such a monstrous tool. Just because government and social media platforms are being transparent targeting people who are accused of spreading “misinformation” (or dissent) doesn’t mean it’s not spying. It means your normalizing spying and censorship. And it also appears that Psaki is juggling two press secretary positions, one for the White House and her new one for #BigPharma running protection for their vaccines.

Meanwhile, Joe Biden confirms his normalization of censorship and fascism by libeling Facebook, burdening them with the responsibility of more people getting infected from the current Delta Vibrant outbreak.

Another thing that was constantly bandied about Joe Biden’s victory and during his last 6 months in office compared to Trump’s was the end of fomenting division among the people. Well here’s Joe Motherfucking Biden libeling Facebook for the blame of people getting infected and dying and potentially creating critical mass social media schism amongst collectively 100 million people that will engage in arguments and level tropes against each other. This is how Joe Motherfucking Biden shows his gratitude to social media monopolies who clamped down on a series of NY Post accurate reports of his fucking reprobate son’s recidivist corruption using his name to profit from ties from international corporations and his hedonistic drug abuse and deviant sex addictions and also from any discussions about his still controversial electoral victory.

But this is now President Joe Motherfucking Biden and apparently the only thing he wants to fundamentally change is the U.S. Constitution by eviscerating it, no thanks to corporate news media and social media monopolies who enabled him and his administration by treating him like the constantly befuddled old codger he is than as the leader of the free world, giving him the impunity to laugh at accountability and wielding his unrestrained authoritarianism while eating a half a pint of ice cream on a cone every day.

Following Biden’s j’accuse of Facebook being complicit in murder, the other social media monolith twitter tagged along after the feckless CDC Director demonized the unvaxed and levied the entire blame for the new breakout of COVID infections by declaring it the pandemic of the unvaccinated. Dr. Wolensky’s catchy but baseless trope immediately got promoted as a top trending topic on Twitter.

Image

What makes Wolensky’s stigmatizing catchphrase wholly without merit is that the Delta Variant has been spreading for quite some time and the disease takes a bit of time to impact. Back in June, it was certain that millions were not fully vaccinated (and we know this because Biden’s goal failed), and one vac is not going to stop a runaway contagion. The compelling thing about the CDC joining the dog piling censorship is that they decided to abandon the mask guidelines.

So instead, the CDC and the White House have decided to scapegoat people who choose not to get vaccinated for the rise in vaccinations and censor people who call out the vaccines flaws and health risks. Even though they are wholly responsible for the rise in infections by rescinding the mask mandate a month earlier and by ceasing compiling data for infections of vaccinated people, which obviously made it easier for these medical bureaucrats to scapegoat a segment of a society. Both decisions have coincided with the widening spread of the Delta Variant throughout the nation. This has also led to discussions and reports of the need for a third vaccine, which might not be free next time. Makes you wonder if Big Pharma not only giving the shots but is calling all the shots on how to control the narrative of the weakened vaccines.

But it’s no wonder that Fascist Biden administration took gradual steps to wean the public into acceptance of this integration of government and social media by using the tired and true manufacturing consent tactics to make vaccines the final solution to defeat COVID-19. When it was found that a cheap (and FDA approved) drug called Ivermectin was being used as a remedy on COVID patients while they were at death’s door and was amazingly successful at curing them, social media monopoly Google’s You Tube platform immediately deplatformed a very popular podcast’s videos that acknowledged this miracle when they presented a clip of a congressional testimony by the doctor who used the drug and saved lives.

Most of all, a lot of this attempt to institute censorship is mostly based on protecting one man, the heinously deified and career medical bureaucrat Dr. Anthony Fauci. For over a year now, the social network and web services monopolies have been engineering algorithms protecting and enabling this fucking liar’s advisories and whims, most egregiously his take on masks as protection against transmission which he initially dismissed and then recommended 5 months later after hundreds of thousands of Americans died. But Facebook and Twitter really brought the big guns when it came to where the actual origin of COVID-19 came from, as any claims, theories or discussions led to memory holing or direct banishment on any discussion if they came from the Wuhan lab that Saint Fauci and his National Institute Of Health (which Fauci has been in charge of for the last 30 years) funded with monies from a New York City Med Corp called Ecohealth to do gain of function research, which was fundamentally creating biological weapons in order to come up with remedies to fight them. Like say, vaccines.

When emails by Dr. Fauci during the pandemic were released (one of which had a NCAA March Madness tournament of viruses that would win the Final four in a pandemic), suddenly the Biden Administration confirmed that the virus could have escaped from the lab like Frankenstein and not just from some freak transmission of a bat winding up as a recipe in a heavily populated food market, Facebook and Twitter lifted their ban of the lab leak theory and and discussion about it got re-legitimatized and hit the mainstream again. Most evident in Jon Stewart’s triumphant return to television on the Stephen Colbert with his hysterical and sobering send up of it.

With the lab leak making cracks in Dr. Falsi’s sainted armor and his cult of personality status on social media and after behaving like a petulant brat during U.S. Senate testimonies from Senator Rand Paul’s very direct and concise questions of Fauci’s role  in gain of function research and autocratic rule on the NIH, Fauci has been maddeningly flip flopping like a fish out of water with his mask and vaccine recommendations. The White House even arranged to use a pop singer as a vaccine pusher honey pot to make Dr. Fauci look credible.

Since social media and YouTube couldn’t really wholly reinforce the White House narrative about gain of function yet still be able to aide the Fascist Biden Administration’s narrative control about vaccinations, the DNC establishment and the FBA thought it would be a grand idea to trample on the 1st and 4th amendments by nipping vaccination dissent in the bud by having cellphone service providers send counter messages like emergency service announcements.

Probably to take a little heat of this maniacal tactic, The White House even arranged to use a pop singer as a vaccine pusher honey pot to promote the vaccines of discredit social media dissent or criticism of them just to make Dr. Fauci look more credible.

Then the nation and the world saw what the Biden administration did 12 hours later, calling for outright banning and blacklisting of individuals arguments about the efficacy and hazardous effects of the vaccines. They pulled this fascism even though America’s two biggest international allies England and Israel are dealing with high infection rates among people who are single AND double vaccinated. What’s interesting about the latter nation is that we have no problem paying attention to them when they need weapons to defend their apartheid policies, but when they get an outbreak that is defying all the initial hype about the vaccine’s efficacy, we just prove Einstein right about recidivist mistakes. Dr. Falsi refuses to even give credence of the vaccines vulnerabilities after six players on the New York Yankees caught the Rona, which sidelined to set up relievers and their best player Aaron Judge. Fauci abruptly dismissed it as a rarity, even though their shortstop Gleyber Torres got infected after getting vaccinated in April.

So now with these vaccines and the aggressive tactics now being used by our trusted leaders, the constitution dismantling Patriot Act that was written to fight our failed war on terror as been replaced by the Patriot Ultimatum. And with social media monopolies being willful militias for them because they are scared of being broken up with establishment elected legislators using antitrust bills as leverage against them, it’s made the National Security Administration, who were doing critical mass arbitrary surveillance of every citizens telecommunications before the tech monopolies got to big to fail, wholly moot and expendable. But at least it shows that these too big tech monopolies are run by a bunch of pussies.

This would be all be hilarious if there wasn’t a threat to obliterate the 1st amendment by the Biden administration. But it sure is hysterical that they are actually more reactionary than prior Figurehead Trump to clamp down on what they deem as misinformation, their own version of the prior leader’s reliable trope “fake news.

Yet “fake news” aka Corporate News and fauxgressive elected dotards and shitlib social media influencers had vaccine hesitancy when Trump was pushing it before they were trying to persecute ordinary people who don’t trust the vaccines today after Joe Biden accused them of being killers. And a shining example of this collective Trump revisionist defiant hypocrisy here’s their other sainted COVID 19 warrior, Mario’s  Son Governor Cuomo, fresh off killing 15,000 elderly people and hiding the bodies while getting paid 5 million dollars for him and his flunkies to manufacture leadership credibility for his pandemic novel, discrediting the vaccine because the Trump administration approved them.

It only took a week for the Fascist Biden Administration to curb their hyperbole about their libelous accusations against Facebook for promoting misinformation or what they decree to be misinformation when Figurehead Biden conceded his error in the biggest self-own so far this year.

But they are still not going to stop promoting their #Pandemicofthevaccinated message, which considering after all the repression they did via social media and are still doing with the aid of corporate national and local news media conglomerates is the worst and baseless message since they fried an egg and said it was your brain on drugs, end of debate. Because this recovery from the pandemic has never been about people’s health (or we would have medicare for all), it’s all about economic control, empirical control and narrative control over the well-being, livelihoods and the physical and mental health of the people. And if a little bit constitutional rights and personal beliefs have to be sacrificed to surmount COVID-19, then it shall be done….

“We’re an empire now, and when we act, we create…”. “We’re an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you’re studying that reality — judiciously, as you will — we’ll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that’s how things will sort out.”

They also just want internet censorship and benevolent fascism to make reality a better, nicer and vaccinated land made for you and me.

A misinformation free place where we belong.

The Blaz Has Made The Comptroller’s Office Irrelevant

https://static01.nyt.com/images/2021/04/29/nyregion/29nymayor-stringer/29nymayor-stringer-mobileMasterAt3x.jpgMayor de Blasio, eating Scott Stringer’s lunch and shitting where he eats

New York City, New York

Now that his disastrous mayoral campaign is over and 30% of registered voters chose Eric Adams to be the Democrat nominee for Mayor, NYC Comptroller Scott Stringer has gone right back to full-time work and dad gum it he is not going to take it anymore.

Stringer brought his stump back out and announced that Mayor de Blasio has held onto the city’s emergency powers and control of budget spending way too long, so he’s decided to take the Blaz to court to get them rescinded so he can manage the city finances again for the remaining 5 months of his term.

But for all the grand gesturing and authoritative shit talking, Stringer is just frontin’ like a punk, establishing once again why he got easily destroyed in the primary. Because the wimp allowed the Blaz to enact those emergency orders to control spending on a day one and did not say a peep about it knowing full well the mayor’s history of profligate wasteful and political patronage derived spending throughout his abominable two terms, enabling the Blaz to embark on a chronic gambler spending spree while exploiting his new authority throughout the pandemic.

What’s worse about Scotty’s sudden display of balls is that he hasn’t even literally got in the Blaz’s face about his chronic abuse of the emergency powe, which he revealed quite pathetically during a brief questioning from a  NY Post reporter who mockingly asked Stringer why it’s taking him so long to use his position as the city’s accountant to reclaim the reins of the city budget again from the unaccountable mayor’s idle hands.

Comptroller Stringer: “We have to come back time and time again to demand accountability and a court action is a last resort, common sense is a first resort, and we haven’t seen that in this administration and we are coming back with a court action because we have to get to the bottom of this”

NY Post: “have you actually spoken to him and (snicker) asked him if he (Blaz) was going to restore the actual safeguards that didn’t exist before?

Comptroller Stringer: “We gave him documentation and sent him no less than 4 letters and we can provide them”

NY Post: “But have you personally (chortle) spoken to him and asked him?

Comptroller Stringer: “I don’t have to speak to him to ask him by letter to do the right thing.”

NY Post: “But you haven’t spoken to him”

Comptroller Stringer: “No, I haven’t spoken to him personally”

Holy calamafuck, the NYC Comptroller never once confronted the NYC Mayor face to face and eye to eye about his repeated malfeasant emergency power grabs, which he reinstated 100 FUCKING TIMES  while spending 8 billion dollars on lousy contracts and financing dubious services that weren’t necessarily essential to the city during the “perfect storm of COVID19”. (Like open streets and bike boulevards)

For the last 16 months  since The Blaz mimicked Governor Cuomo by assigning himself emergency powers, Stringer took pussy to a new level, letting the Blaz make his government appointed job irrelevant and sat there and watched him piss away the city coffers from the start of the pandemic and even this year in our alleged recovery now that andemic restrictions have been rescinded by the state and national levels and in the five boroughs by the mayor himself.

The Blaz’s proclivity for profligacy was exposed immediately after he usurped the comptroller’s purview when he doled out a massive contract to deliver ventilators and masks to the city for nearly 120 million dollars to  tech accessory/hipster toy distributor and art dealer buddy David Trebele, who donated over $45,000 dollars to his 2017 re-election campaign and to both of his illicit PACs for his idiotic presidential run. After this political patronage deal went down as hospitals were getting swarmed with patients and were still perilously low on supplies, leading them to recycle their masks and wear garbage bags to protect themselves from COVID, Trebele’s LLC company Digital Gadgets failed to deliver the PPE’s and none of the 3000 ventilators that were ordered ever arrived. Comptroller Stringer, neutered of his elected role because of the evisceration of his duty and office to vet contracts with companies that had no record of doing any business with the city before, didn’t verbally say a single word until late August of the Blaz’s corrupt mishandling of his emergency powers for his buddy’s contract and subsequently abusing them to approve contracting for other city services in usurpation of Stringer’s supervisory elected duties.

It’s good in some way that the Comptroller is taking decisive and legal action now, mostly because the Blaz possibly can’t recycle his emergency powers now because the actual emergency has mostly dissipated because of the state’s and the city’s lifting of pandemic restrictions, although the delta variant has become the dominant contagion. But the Blaz doesn’t even acknowledge the severity of that strain so it’s really all about maintaining and micromanaging control of the city’s coffers. But Stringer’s belated action is a year and half late and 8 billion dollars short, because nothing happened when he sued the city back in November and the Blaz continued to control the city’s finances and weaken regulations while obfuscating and refusing to release city records concerning his budgetary decisions and most frighteningly the city’s health records and statistics during the pandemic since that’s the reason why the Blaz justifies his repetitive do-overs of the emergency powers.

It’s not like Stringer didn’t know what was going on, he knows the Blaz’s record and recidivism and all that was in monstrous form from the beginning of the pandemic to today, especially after the latest bloated reserves drained budget that was passed by Corey Johnson and the City Council cronies last week that the mayor will devour from in his final 5 months. But it’s quite apparent that Comptroller Stringer lost sight and relinquished his governing powers to the Blaz because of his own sad and vain quest for the mayor’s office and now that he’s lost he’s desperate to regain his significance as an elected official, which is pathetic after the way he’s been humiliatingly mocked and undermined by the Mayor, his taxpayer funded pogrom of lawyers and even by his little maggot press secretary Bill “Cry About it” Neidhardt, who never stops reminding the Comptroller about how his demands for accountability are nothing but political stunts to get media attention and not the fact that it’s his elected duty to demand accountability and also to moderate the city’s checks and balances.

“During the greatest challenge our city has ever faced, emergency procurements have saved lives, period,” said spokesman Bill Neidhardt. “The comptroller is clearly trying to use this lawsuit to keep himself in the headlines after his failed mayoral bid.”

But Big Bad Blaz’s little flack is not the only one to publicly make light and take advantage of Comptroller Stringer’s chronic fecklessness. Just as COVID-19 was about to attack NYC, The Blaz bought 17 decrepit apartment buildings that were being used as cluster housing for homeless people from two slumlords for $173 million dollars for 4 times of what the city initially offered for them so they would be added to NYC Housing’s farcical affordable housing program despite one of Comptroller Stringer’s “strongly worded” letters to him. The Blaz’s tax boondoggle wife Chirlie also treated Stringer like a doormat when she refused to provide details about her grotesque misuse of nearly a billion dollars for her mental health program THRIVE.

The abominable real estate lobby proxy office Economic Development Corporation also wiped their crusty dingleberries with Stringer’s strongly worded letters when he wanted more accountability for the wasteful spending on the tax dollar hemorrhaging  transit alternative NYC Ferry when they went along with purchasing $130,000,000 of new boats from a San Fransisco contractor despite it’s consistently daily low and strictly upper class commuter use. And last but not least, the Blaz diverted 30 million dollars of emergency funding provided by the Biden Administration’s stimulus bill to spend on a desperate national advertising campaign pandering to tourists to come to NYC.

At least one person has finally decided to back up the weakened comptroller and that’s the incoming one that is bound to take is place; Brooklyn Councilman and well renowned Brad Lscofflaw parking speed demon Brad Lander tweeted in solidarity in support for his lawsuit and demanded the mayor restore control over the city budget back to the Comptroller’s office. Even though Lander and his fauxgressive City Council Cronies never said a word or did a fucking thing while the Blaz was abusing his emergency powers and pushing his pay to play derived doling of city services to his overlord donors.

But Brad Pander’s demand exposes not only political expediency but also desperation, because if he and Eric Adams wins and the pandemic is still around, Adams will just cite the Blaz’s exploitation of emergency powers as legal precedence and make his job moot as well, leaving Lander as another feckless simp to walk on top on.

So unless Stringer can dredge something feasibly criminal against the Blaz, he’s pretty much going to be sitting on his taint for the rest of 2021 as his emergency powered emboldened nemesis continues his hedonistic spending, platitude/selfie tweeting and food consuming mayoral staycation and blissfully continue to still treat the Comptroller’s office like doesn’t exist.

Blaz’s Recovery Advisor’s Salary Double Dip And Washington Square Park Connection

I got it made

NY Post

The NYPD’s former highest-ranking uniformed officer is cashing in with his new gig at City Hall — thanks to a little-known legal loophole that allows him to collect both a pension and a taxpayer-funded salary, The Post has learned.

Retired Chief of Department Terence Monahan started collecting his $188,280 annual pension on March 28 while also earning a $242,592 annual salary as Mayor de Blasio’s new senior advisor, according to documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Law.

Retired public employees who are under the age of 65 and are collecting a pension are required to file paperwork — known as a 211 waiver — making the case for why they are uniquely qualified to collect an additional public salary.

The applications then go to the Department of Citywide Administrative Services or the New York State Civil Service Commission for approval. Without the waiver, the retiree is limited to $35,000 per year, according to state law.

But that approval was able to be sidestepped with Monahan placed on the payroll of the Economic Development Corporation — a city-funded nonprofit organization — following his February appointment to oversee the city’s safety planning for COVID recovery.

Pensioners who are employed by a public benefit corporation, like the city’s economic development arm, don’t need to file a 211 waiver, according to a 1997 decision by the city’s Law Department, DCAS spokesman Nick Benson said. The ruling has never been challenged in court.

On top of the dual income, the 60-year-old former cop is also still owed a hefty payout for unused days off, estimated at nearly $300,000, according to a review of his payroll records obtained by The Post. That lump sum payout is still pending, the city’s payroll office said.

Reached by phone recently, Monahan declined to comment on his pay.

Why should Terry comment, he’s the luckiest man and he’s got the easiest job in NYC right now and he acquired it by being a recidivist dirty cop while working under the most cravenly corrupt and cowardly mayor in NYC history.

For Terry winding up to become the deputy recovery czar in City Hall, he didn’t have to try that hard considering what he accomplished during the pandemic last year. First he tried to orchestrate a heist to steal a truck full of face masks and other PPE’s  meant for doctors, nurses and other essential workers in hospital services (most of whom did not even bother wearing face masks), which induced a stunning profane laden  reaction from the city’s former doctor health commish Oxiris Barbot, which led to her eventual phasing out and firing by the Blaz.

Then after the Mayor’s team arranged a media circus and stunt for the NYPD to feign solidarity for the policing public execution of George Floyd, which Monahan got on his knee and held hands with other BLM protesters, Monahan ordered a brutal NYPD offensive against hundreds of protesters who arranged a demonstration in Mott Haven in the Bronx by ordering cops to kettle them from both sides on the streets to prevent them from departing after the Blaz’s 8 PM curfew and letting them loose to viciously attack them as they walloped them with clubs, attacked them with bikes and also engaged in dogpiling individual demonstrators tactics the cops used with absolute gleeful expressions. This day of infamy in NYC as well as the other days of brutality the NYPD inflicted on protesters during that week of demonstrations got immediate condemnation by Human Rights Watch for the brazen suppression of free speech and free assembly and eventually was subjected to a thorough investigation by D.A. Letitia James leading to NY Senate and Assembly laws calling for the expunging of policing records of every cop on the force. It was most certain that the record of Chief Monahan and whatever abuses and violations he accrued throughout his career was bound to be revealed.

But when 2021 came and Mayor de Blasio laid down the base for the”recovery for all of us” mission as expose’s of rogue cops and disciplinary actions were starting to mete out (however incrementally), The Blaz did his usual machinating and bailed out Monahan and transferred him to NYC Economic Development Corporation Dept. to be the deputy czar of the city’s recovery immediately after he resigned and traded in his acquired uniform for a bureaucrat’s suit, thereby acquiring his cherry six figure pension while getting a bigger six-figure salary while also exempting him from D.A. James disciplinary probes in his new position as an “advisor”

When asked about Monahan’s city salary double dip, The Blaz was asked if this profligate use of taxpayer dollars for one man and his advisories has resulted in any dividends in services for the city as well as it’s recovery and security. It’s a waste of time to print de Blasio’s response because he predictably didn’t give one, but recent events have showed that Monahan has taken to his suit as a do nothing bureaucrat very well.

Presumably, the justification for Monahan’s shady transfer and presence in City Hall and the EDC is because his career and experience as a police officer would be that he would give sage advice for keeping the streets safe and ensure economic gains and a return of tourist activity in the city’s popular destination areas like Times Square. But look at what’s happened there since the weather got nicer, two shootings and four people hit by stray bullets despite a massive police presence and surveillance cameras on every lamp post and building and vagrancy and other petty crimes as not subsided as well.

Then there is the issue of Washington Square Park, which as become a quasi-autonomous zone which daily open air drug abuse  and nightly relentless noise pollution from all-night DJ ragers and yelling from transient denizens of the greenpace loitering past the parks closing, under the watchful eyes of de Blasio’s NYPD, who are clearly under orders to maintain their surprisingly tolerant behavior despite demands by residents for them to take action and despite the blowback from their collective inaction resulting in slashings and assaults in the vicinity.

Which makes it a wonder why the cops have been standing down so long from enforcing the normal curfew and allowing these baccanalias and calamitous events to continue. Turns out that the man who kneeled along with the former Chief Monahan  for de Blasio’s NYPD’s gaslighting solidarity photo op for the George Floyd/Black Lives Matter movement is David “Shaman” Ortiz, who just happens to promoter of the WSPAZ DJ ragers and also for illegal unsanctioned public boxing matches that are held right by the Arch the cops are protecting. And it’s quite clear that they are protecting Promoter Ortiz party plans as well, which gives the impression that this guy has been giving de facto permission and permits in the park as part of the city’s recovery for all of us, giving de Blasio the optics to declare the Summer of NYC is off to a rousing successful start. Maybe that’s why the Blaz is confident that the violence and noise in WSP will take a natural course back to normalcy.

https://cdn.extra.ie/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/03135924/nypd-terence-monahan-3.jpghttps://nypost.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2021/06/david-ortiz-0.jpg?quality=90&strip=all&w=618&h=410&crop=1

Ortiz has not been shy about this symmetry either nor his contempt for the residents of this district and he can’t help himself from talking shit about it too.

“This is my response to the residents, If you have an issue with amplified sound and you live in the downtown area, you live in the Washington Square Park area, then you should move.”

Can’t really blame this opportunistic reprobate for his hubris, especially when looters were able to capitalize from last year’s BLM protests that got the majority of the police response and aggression last year as they ransacked every high end designer clothing and jewelry store in Soho and every small business in the middle and lower AMI income town Fordham in the Bronx with hardly any effort at repression from the NYPD. Also revealing is that these lootings were still continuing throughout 2020 even without the presence of protests ahead of them. Protests also continued sporadically during last year too and guess which public activity got the bigger police response again? All this impunity and abuse of authority made possible under the purview and the street policing decisions of former chief Monahan.

Now that Monahan is making a half million dollars this year and felonious crimes and shootings making distressing upward trajectories, it’s a wonder if his advice and his presence at the city’s abominable EDC office is actually being detrimental to the city’s recovery and also if he is giving bad advice on purpose since it’s highly doubtful he’s going to remain a city worker when this hellish final year of the Blaz is over. Looks like the current circumstances makes it clear he still as much a human profligate tax boondoggle and moral hazard to the city as he was when he was wearing a white shirt being an abusive and disconnected high brass cop and police chief.

And he’ll continue to get away with it. Because the lawlessness that’s gripped the streets doesn’t hold a candle to and is only an extension of the bureaucratic anarchy directed by the Blaz in City Hall.

The Flaws In The Matching Funds And Ranked Choice Voting Laws

Misfits

New York City, New York

This Democrat primary race for the New York City’s Mayor’s Office in 2021 has been without a doubt the most weakest and indistinguishable as well as the biggest and most boring one in this century and probably in history. Although the debates are finally done and the electoral polls are officially open, the democratic process will be truly put to the test with the new rank choice voting system with a dozen candidates on the ballot to choose from.

Make that five to choose from, because the old one person one vote way of Democracy was deemed too inequitable conceptually for any regular ambitious civic-minded individual without the influence, connections and moolah to run for executive  government positions. So in last year’s NYC election, city voters decided to fix the ballots to give other people a chance to campaign and rank by having electoral ballots repurposed for more choices and also lifting the cap on matching funds for fundraising from 1 to 1 to a mind boggling 8 to 1 for aspiring candidates, money which that was going to be re-allocated by city residents tax dollars.

What could possibly go wrong? Especially in one of the most allegedly progressive cities in the U.S.A.? Fucking plenty, since these new electoral rules has done the total opposite of what good intentions they were set to do and has actually exacerbated the cutthroat culture of electioneering and ossified the predominance of money and politics in campaigns. Instead of producing populist candidates powered by the people, it’s led to the SAMO crop of upper class establishment politicians, bureaucrats and for and non profit business execs with questionable or no ethics and dubious accomplishments and qualifications for the city’s chief executive position.

Let’s start with the elephant with diarrhea in the room, and that’s the money .With 90% for every donation up to $2,000, every city taxpayer automatically and technically becomes a straw donor that keeps the campaigns of cellar dwelling candidates alive and bolsters the campaigns of already leading candidates enriched by corporation and plutocrat money. And being that these mediocre candidates raise more money than they initially raise, it’s a glaring statement of how immensely unpopular they are with the constituency, which is why even late in the election over 35% of registered voters polled are still not sure who they want to choose.

https://randazza.files.wordpress.com/2008/12/not-sure.png

Making this collective vote of no confidence the true front runner in the mayoral election even after $100,000,000 has been spent of city taxpayer straw donations. In fact, given the massive amount of funds contributed to these campaigns as well as the smaller and equally crowded races for City Council district seats and Borough President, it also makes the taxpaying voter a virtual money bundler as well.

But thanks to this supposedly progressive and profligate redistribution of campaign funds, the lamest can still run without reflection or shame. Take this whiny trustafarian Shaun Donovan, who currently at the bottom of the race is till soiling the internet and television with ads of still photos with him and President Obama and his wife while he worked for him at HUD (interestingly none with 2 term and illegal 1 term mayor Bloomberg who he worked with as head of NYC Housing). The only reason why this shitlib bureaucrat is still around is because his dad was the only one funding his campaign. After Shaun’s pop initially gave his boy a million dollars for his campaign from a PAC he runs (a super daddy PAC!), which was followed by another cool million by his daddy and then another million by a couple of Rockerfellers , Shaun was suddenly under scrutiny by the Campaign Finance Board and it looked for a moment that they were going to kick this rich boy to the curb.

But despite this obvious conflict, the CFB found there was no wrong doing and no links between the super daddy PAC and the Donovan campaign and awarded the entitled candidate over 1.5 million of matching funds from donations from people who didn’t bang his mom over 50 years ago. This enabled Shaun’s dad to continue giving him his weekly million dollar allowance for another two weeks.

The matching funds orgy continued with breakneck speed as the money rolled right in for the top contenders Andrew Yang and Eric Adams and even for lower-tiered also-runs like Maya Wiley, Katherine Garcia and Scott Stringer because of the CFB’s fecklessness and unpreparedness to regulate big money super PACs and 501 c 4’s , all aided by the fucking Citizens United rule that equates donating money with talking and a corporation as a person.

But it’s not just corporations that are doing all the talking. Plutocrats pounced once Shaun got the O.K from the CFB to take his daddy’s millions. Andrew Yang and his Comeback PAC’s welcomed two out of state Republican billionaires half million dollar donations with open arms, which substantially added to the candidate’s outside NYC and NY state funding that has fueled his campaign along with the taxpayer straw donor matching funds. Although to be fair to Andy Yang, one of the oligarchs does have a residence in the city and it happens to be the most expensive one, a 240 million dollar condo in a tower overlooking Central Park and the plebes below,

Funny thing about Yang’s acceptance of rival party filthy lucre is that oligarch townie  also donated 500 large to his super foe Eric Adams’ own side hustle super PAC Strong Leadership, run by a woman who happens to run a charter school that was founded by a recent donor to Adams SL PAC. In the meantime garnering donations from the plutes and the taxpayers, Eric Adams has also benefited quite hugely from his own One Brooklyn PAC while serving as Brooklyn Borough President, getting away with the same shady pay to play donations with developers and their lobbyists thanks to the “legal” precedent set by Maya Wiley “agents of the city” legalese and Bill de Blasio’s Campaign For One New York  501 c 4 slush fund.

For the time being, the figurative horse race with Adams and Yang has led them to get the bulk of attention from the city’s wealthiest political philanthropists and also real estate developer overlords.Maya Wiley who just got bumped up to the top 3 in the race after the collapse of the Morales campaign (whose manager wound up joining Wiley’s, no act of sabotage there) and the sexual predatory rumors marring Scott Stringers, got a cool million from fauxgressive liberal billionaire and DNC party gadfly George Soros. And just recently, developers contracted with the Gentrification Industrial Complex’s city’s luxury public housing program have piled money bundles to Cinderella contender and local corporate news media darling Kathryn Garcia. The wiley Wiley also got 500 grand from liberal plutocrat George Soros.

The plague wrought by Citizens United to the matching funds system has also enabled other townie oligarchs the likes of Hudson Yards hermit Stephen Ross and Bloomberg 3rd term creator Ronald Lauder to join forces and create their own little PAC to try to influence the council district elections to run attack ads targeting opponents of their favored candidates while funding five figure donations of their ranked choice picks against them. Thanks to the new RCV system, democracy has become a literal horse race , a glorified version of placing bets to win place and show, and place and show again.

But the most obvious flaw that’s emerged from this profligate tax dollar wasting chaos is that it has made the election campaign industrial complex even bigger. More candidates running means more brains have to be piled and assembled behind them by hiring lawyers, public relations, graphic designers, consultants, social media and data miners, and organizers to bring the volunteer plebians to promote and worship your every word and policy. To give an idea of how landscaping this has become, a young woman used 3/4 of taxpayers matching funds cash like fuck you money to contract a consulting firm from South Carolina to help her win a Council seat in Queens and still lost. In all certainty, this will not discourage future or in Yang’s case current candidates to rely on professionals and donors as long as this matching funds abomination continues.

As for the RCV system itself, it’s already shown to utterly uninspiring to the 3.8 million registered NYC voters even given the opportunity to vote early for 10 days, only 4% of them showed up. Although it’s easy to be voter hesitant and apathetic given the candidates, the ballot itself is enough reason to discourage people considering how the ballot looks like a high school Regents test than a contribution to the Democratic process for the Republic.

Another reason why early voting was probably underwhelming is that the city waited until the last few weeks to get people fully informed and prepared for the ballots with a hardly noticeable ad blitz, which was quite hard to compete with the taxpayer matching funds funded ad blitzes by the top mayoral and comptroller candidates. And Mayor de Blasio didn’t help matters at all when he and his minions set up a Pizza topping ballot that was more ridiculed than heeded and it seem more for the Blaz to have an excuse to stuff his face during a press conference than to inform people, since  he didn’t tell anybody voters didn’t need to vote for 5 or even had the option to write in a candidate (which yours truly did).

Knowing this guy, he should have boogers and cum on the ballot

Yet surprisingly, over a million voters did turn out this time including over 200,000 absentee ballots which was a helluva a lot better than the last two elections The Blaz won to get his job (with much condolences to the city of New York). But it wasn’t all good for Democracy, because not only did the voters have to deal with a cumbersome ballot as lots of voters had to get new ones because they filled the bubbles in wrong which was even a problem for top tier and token shitlib mayoral candidate and RCV booster Maya Wiley who fucked her own ballot up, they also had to deal with the inevitable fracas brought upon them by the NYC Board of Elections, who were even more unprepared to deal with the RCV system just like how they purged hundreds of thousands of  Brooklyn ballots, fucking up thousands of absentee ballot envelopes  and keeping their machines protected from the elements in the last few elections from the past 5 years.

After two elections in Eastern Queens districts which served as trial sessions for the new voting system. The NYC Board of Elections waited til the end of May to find a contractor to supply the  RCV software for the polling machines. Leaving them with only a month to get their shit together.

What could possibly go wrong?

When election day was winding down, it was astonishingly nothing much. Eric Adams wound would a double digit lead over Kathy Garcia and Maya Wiley who were neck and neck, but at the end of the day Adams would not get the clinching 50% of the votes so it was off to the recount of the ranked choices and the decisive victor would be announced in three weeks with an announcement of where the lower ranks would wind up the next week. Now with only 42% of the ballots where voters filled 5 bubbles, this really wouldn’t be hard to get a determined result without some freak of nature calamity to occur with all the time and the new technology the BOE to accomplish this historic use of RCV.

But the freak of nature calamity happened anyway with Chutulu like proportions. The BOE, for some reason known only to them decided to continue testing the software while they were counting the legitimate ballots by leaving the test ballots in and they wound up being counted as well. So instead of the news of the prospect of Katherine Garcia narrowing the gap on Eric Adams lead by 2% with the potential of her pulling off a Harry Truman-esque comeback victory after Adams proclaimed himself the face of the nation for the Democrats, the BOE had to throw those results in the garbage as if the whole count was a bad dream and had to do it all over again the next day.

Although this was expected of the BOE, so notorious for being an establishment cesspool of cronyism and nepotism that even The Blaz finds how they operate offensive and was willing to give them 20 million dollars to fix themselves. But to be this incompetent, the BOE’s botch of the primary count has reached a whole new level and the tipping point of FUBAR. And given their systemic notoriety, it raises a high level amount of suspicions. Given that immediately after they left the trial ballots in, the top officials and cronies had secret meetings on how they were going to reveal their errors. And since a do-over would require more work, it’s a certainty that this could have been done on purpose to get more overtime pay.

Since this debacle has got universally pilloried by officials and the constituents and political wonks on media and social networks in NYC as well across the country and maybe around the world, Eric Adams immediately filed a lawsuit against the BOE and other candidates have stepped in line with lawsuits, including most of the city council candidates running in Queens. Big shot lawyer Maya Wiley went even further in her suit against the BOE by going after her rival candidates to assure that every single vote is counted by hand, which not only is going to cost taxpayers even more money after spending 100 million dollars promoting her and other candidates they didn’t want or care about, but Wiley is ironically channeling Donald Trump who did the same thing after his loss to Joe Biden when he sent Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell to find the Kracken of extraneous votes that were added to the rolls leading to his loss, just like with the extra 140,000 trial ballots the BOE left in. Surreal.

Although they seem like they tried, the BOE didn’t really fully dissuade people from condemning the RCV voting system on account of the cesspool government body that was tasked to make it work and also that it got a wide majority of votes when it was placed on the charter in the 2019 election. But was it really a mandate for change? Considering the horrendous turnout that year were no major offices up for grabs and even though RCV (and matching funds) did get 70% registered support only 10% of registered voters showed up to vote for it.

Showing that half the city voters aren’t that politically wonky or social media obsessive as the corporate news and social media influencers thought there was (at least the 30% of them that showed up, which further establishes how disconnected these smarter people are). The only mandate evident in the RCV system is how it benefits the wonkiest and the big political players, whose advice and activism from experts in those fields their PACs, the campaign teams and the tax payers wind up mostly paying for and which has shown yet again that all the money went to biggest establishment candidates once again. Which is why things might turn out different when RCV gets put back on the ballot for a charter vote next year for it to continue or to get abolished, no matter how low the turnout will inevitably be.

Which shows that the flaws in the RCV and matching funds laws are supporting and enabling a guided democracy than a democracy for the people. And as long as money and politics continue its predominance in every election, voter apathy and disenfranchisement will exacerbate, because every choice will be rank.

“New Yorkers are vaccinated in record numbers. The Summer of NYC is here; there’s no better time to visit, and we’ll continue to cheer on our city’s recovery”

Deputy Press Secretary for Bill de Blasio, Mitch Schwartz

Here we go again, Mitch. Stupid asshole.

Bronx

In Mount Eden, a man chased another man with a gun on the sidewalk in a gang related attack. While being goaded by his fellow gangbangers to slay him in broad daylight, the gunman’s target ran directly into a 13-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy as they were about to enter a bodega to buy candy as he tried to find a place to hide and then he fell on top of them, causing them to fall on the pavement with him. Then the gunman circled around and stood over the man and the two kids and shot at him 12 times while trying to shoot around the children as if he was doing heart surgery. Then he ran away and got on the back of a scooter and rode away with an accomplice after he emptied his clip. The gangbanger managed to hit his target on both legs and plugged him on the back. The victim was brought to a hospital by his allies in a stolen car with temp plates.

Almost certain mayoral candidate Eric Adams personally offered a reward for 2 large for anyone to identify the soulless psycho, whose wanton and ruthless intentions have left the two kids traumatized and unable to sleep from the ultraviolent attack. The New York Yankees gave the kids and their parents free tickets to watch them beat the A’s.

The NYPD found the gangbanger and arrested him. Turns out he was still under supervision after finishing 2 years of parole after serving time on a conviction from an assault, though that didn’t stop him from robbing a person at knifepoint last year. And it apparently couldn’t convince a judge from convicting him for that crime. As for the man and actual target that caused this national/viral interest story, he was let loose on the streets after cops caught him with a semi-automatic gun last year while he was still on parole for previous weapons charge the year before.

Also in Mount Eden, a man that was left for dead on a park bench with his body bruised and battered died 2 weeks later from his injuries.

This fucking city.

Again in Allerton, a duo and a trio of men engaged in a shootout on a residential block and missed each other as stray bullets broke through house windows.

And again in Mott Haven, a man got shot to death from getting blasted in the back multiple times by a gunman who ambushed him as he was going up a flight of stairs between two avenues.

And again in Mott Haven, a man stalked another man on the sidewalk and then ran up to him and bashed him on the head with a cobblestone and then kicked his head and his body while he was on the ground and grabbed another stone and bashed him with it. The victim is afflicted with sickle-cell anemia and is lying catatonic barely able to speak. The NYPD caught the lunatic 3 weeks later and was found to be on parole.

And again in Mott Haven, a man got dropped off at a hospital with a bullet in his torso.

And again in Mott Haven, a man slugged another man in the face and knocked him down inside a bodega and then he robbed his cellphone.

And again in Mott Haven, a man got shot to death on the sidewalk in broad daylight.

And again in Mott Haven,  man volunteering for Mayoral candidate Eric Adams got into an argument with two men and then one of them charged him with a knife and stabbed him twice and then he walked away with his accomplice. The assault weapon was found on the sidewalk along with an icepick that belonged to Adams’ canvasser.

Blood and an Eric Adams campaign poster are seen on the sidewalk on Morris Avenue near E. 150th Street in the Bronx, after an Adams campaign worker was stabbed on Sunday, June 20.

And again in Mott Haven, a decomposed dead woman’s body was found by a crane operator in a lot where a luxury public housing tower is being developed. There was a time when something like this would go unnoticed in Fort Apache.

Also in Unionport, a man got shot to death on the street on a street corner from a bullet to his back and neck.

In Charlotte Gardens, a man loitering on a street corner with other men pulled a gun out and fired at someone across the street. At least this menace to society had the tact to wait till children and passerby were not in the area when he tried to kill someone.

In Jerome Park, two men jumped a 17-year-old boy inside of a deli and beat him down in the aisle and stabbed him in the midsection and ran away with his sneakers.

In Morris Park, a man found unconscious at a park got picked up by an ambulance and then went bezerk when he awakened and attacked a paramedic who was aiding him and chase him out of the vehicle. Then the man tried to force open the doors as the EMT was trying to drive away. But at least the Blaz is throwing a parade for these EMT’s in a few weeks.

Manhattan

In Times Square, a man with a gun ran down the sidewalk and shot at a group of men and missed, causing the bullet to ricochet off a building wall and hit a man in the arm who was standing outside of a hotel with his wife and relatives.

Because the unwitting victim is a Marine and the son of a retired military officer/intelligence official and being that it was the second shooting incident in less than a month in the Square, The Blaz and Chief Harrison wasted no time and decided to “flood the zone” with another deployment of 50 cops in the biggest and most precious tourist attraction in the world.

Despite the bigger and redundant police presence, tourists are cognizant of the predominant crime wave and even more wary of walking on the streets in the vicinity. Although if there’s any consolation for the Blaz, some tourists seem to find the disturbing rise of violent criminal activity as a new novelty attraction.

Also in Times Square, two men and two teenagers jumped and beat down a tourist while she was walking on the sidewalk and stole her cellphone and wallet. One of the muggers left a bag with a gun inside by a hot dog cart. All of them got caught a short time later because there are hundreds of cops in the area plus there are surveillance cameras with facial recognition tech on every corner lamppost.

Again in Times Square, a woman died after getting hit by a taxicab while crossing the street at 4 a.m.

And again in Times Square, the vaccine site the Blaz set up so Broadway theater workers and actors and tourists can use to make the city recover for all of us got immediately shut down after it was discovered they inoculated people with expired doses.

And again in Times Square, a man whipped out his johnson and flogged it in front of tourists and passerby in the pedestrian plaza.

And again in Times Square at the 42nd St. Station, a man slashed another man in the  head on the mezzanine.

And again in Times Square, a stupid asshole hovered over 7th ave on a drone without city and NYPD permission. I wonder if he got the green light from the NYC EDC.

And again in Times Square, a man accosted a cop and challenged him to a fight. After a minute of mincing, a bunch of teenagers chase him out.

In Washington Square Park, a man called a cop profane racist remarks after he was being told to step away from a patrol van and then ludicrously proclaimed that his own race is incapable of being racist. The bigot, who works as a porter at NYU, also profanely taunted and threatened another cop who was sitting in his patrol vehicle.

The bigot got arrested at JFK airport  when he got caught possessing an automatic rifle he swiped from a shooting range in Texas.

Also in Washington Square Park,  actual illegal boxing matches took place by the Arch surrounded by a crowd of salacious revelers egging them on.

The promoter of this wanton ultraviolence would arrange another night of boxing matches complete with a fireworks coda a few weeks later after he defiantly proclaimed residents in the Village who are disturbed and perturbed by the chaos in the WSP autonomous zone should just move the fuck out. Psychopath.

Again in Washington Square Park, two men were slashed and a woman got trampled on the ground after a gang of ten men got into brawl in a crowd during a dj rager set on the evening de Blasio’s NYPD ended the 10 PM curfew. The instigators/participants of the ruckus all escaped. In another part of the WSPAZ, a man witnessing an argument between two men got attacked by them when they saw him filming their dispute on his cellphone and they beat him down to pavement and stole his phone.

And again in Washington Square Park, a man dressed and made up like Heath Ledger’s portrayal of The Joker (or is it Juoquain Phoenix’s) punched another man in the face during an argument and a 76-year-old man a had bag with his belongings stolen after he set it down by the arch to take a picture of his son. The same and only Arch that the NYPD is guarding every night.

And again in Washington Square Park, a man went ballistic after getting into a shouting match with other men and whipped out a knife and a flashlight taser in each hand during a brawl with them, causing hundreds of denizens running away in a stampede and trampling over a woman who was only walking in the park with a friend. The man was released on his own recognizance without parole 2 days later. I hope the WSP Mutual Aid Fund hangs a do not admit poster to give to the cops guarding the arch.

And again in Washington Square Park, a statue was found covered in graffiti on all sides.

And again in Washington Square Park, fireworks went off, motorcycles were rode and three ragers went on at the same time inside the park which went on past curfew and the NYPD were given orders to do nothing about it.

And again in Washington Square Park, people looking to party in the park to celebrate Gay pride day suddenly got surrounded by a militia of cops in riot gear and on bikes. The presence escalated hostilities and a clash between the revelers and the cops ensued as cops doused them with pepper spray which incited reactions from the LHBTG crowd, leading to eight arrests after water bottles were thrown at cops and a woman bit an officer.

Amazing how the NYPD has shown tolerance and restraint while witnessing drunken raves, motorcycle riding, vandalism, illegal boxing matches at the park for weeks, letting WSP turn into a virtual autonomous zone, but when gay and transgender people come down to celebrate gay pride day at the park, their day of all days, suddenly there’s repression enforcement. If you are going to supervise a dystopia, you really can’t be selective about public baccanalias.

And again in Washington Square Park, three men and a woman got into a squabble with revelers celebrating gay pride and then with cops who told them to take down a homophobic sign they were holding up with a metal pole that was enraging the crowd.

And again in Washington Square Park, an argument initiated by a couple towards three food vendors who were haggling over prices and an irrational demand to give them ice with their soda (the ice that is used to cool soft drinks) escalated into a ruckus when someone demanded that the vendor take down little American flags and replace them with Rainbow flags.  After one of the vendors said something offensive to the unruly customers, a mob formed then swarmed and attacked the vendors and hit them with a hot sauce bottle and soda cans. A woman punched the elder vendor, who wound up with a bloody gash on his head as he hit the ground as the cops watched from across the street under the Blaz’s orders to stand down and guard the Arch and let the chaos at the park just naturally end itself.

In the West Village, a mentally disturbed homeless man walked into a diner to use the restroom then got into an argument with the waiters and the cook who told him to leave. When the cook tried to walk him out, the man grabbed him and shoved him into one of the windows and ran into Washington Square Park where three of the cooks co-workers captured him so the cops could arrest his crazy ass.
