In the West Village and Greenwich Village, cops arrested 57 people who were protesting on the street as the presidential election results were being tabulated. Fires were being set on the road and in garbage cans. One woman punched a cop in the face and another woman spit in another cops face and got thrown to the ground. The NYPD also dispensed violence to citizens participating in the demonstration and again resorted to kettling demonstrators on the avenue while corralling commuters as well. Raising the chance of another rise of COVID-19 spread in the city.

Another protest organized by the Black Transgender community that began by the Stonewall Inn got tailed by a mass overdeployment of cops in riot gear and bikes as they marched their way through Washington Square to Union Square. During the march, a mentally ill homeless man attacked a lieutenant from behind and tried to strangle him with a chain. Then the NYPD began to swarm on the protesters, while bike cops aggressively and indiscriminately walled off people, one of them being Public Advocate Juaamme Williams who the cops didn’t even recognize.

A militia of bike cops assembled at Union Square across the street from a group of protesters on the other side of the street and then charged and yelled at them to move back. The cops deployed outnumbered the amount of protesters on 14th St. and their overzealous tactics trying to force people to move back up the steps of the park area  caused a 1010 WINS journalist to get almost trampled.

Mayor de Blasio’s predictably slow response to the actions of his NYPD was dripped with mealy insouciance and abject denial, despite hundreds of videos that have been distributed on social media since May 28th where his NYPD used the majority of the force and spent untold millions of dollars to dispense brutality to his constituents exercising their right to assemble and speak against unjust systemic issues still prevalent in law enforcement and the budgetary inequities to other services like education and housing to bolster them. Also in In Grant City, a bar co-owner got arrested by NYC sheriffs for serving drinks and food without masks while holding a one man army protest against New York State’s pandemic protocols and COVID zone designations by declaring the property of his business as an “autonomous zone”.  After he got arrested, S.I. residents and a sect of the right-wing activist group the Proud Boys showed up with American and Blue Lives Matter flags to rally in solidarity behind the bar.

A few days after the night rally, the bar co-owner continued to defy the pandemic  guidelines and regulations. Then he got confronted by the NYC Sheriffs officers after he closed and ran away from them, got in his jeep and proceeded to run over one of the deputies and drove a few blocks with the cop on the hood. The leisure revolutionary wound up getting caught and arrested and immediately released on his own recognizance after charges for resisting arrest, reckless driving menacing and vehicular assault for intentionally injuring a police officer.

The contrasts between between the two protest demonstrations after election day and the public assembly for this hole in the wall bar in Staten Island and the response by authorities are blatantly and stunningly egregious. This mild-mannered maniac proprietor/bartender runs over a cop and gets released in a day while people marching on the streets in the Villages gets subjected to ultraviolence from the NYPD for even a an accidental nudge to an officer. Plus the fact that this bartender wouldn’t have got away with this unscathed or even still be alive if he was a Black or Latino bartender.

Then there are the hundreds of S.I. residents (and some visitors from nearby states) clustering on a street in solidarity for the bar while standing on top of sheriff patrol cars and the most Commissioner Shea sends are four or five cops to guard Mac’s door for a few hours. No choppers, no pepper spray, no bike cops, no MOVE BACK MOVE BACK.

Mayor de Blasio’s doesn’t even has an answer for this. More likely he thinks the revolution in Staten Island is going to fade away if he doesn’t mention it. Just like all that police brutality he continues to ignore. Just like the stealth mass gathering events arranged by the Satmar communities in Brooklyn. All these indications of contagion that are in his face (and everyone else’s) even while speakeasy raves and bottle parties are getting repressed throughout the boroughs.

Then the mayor has the audacity to chastise parents for being too cautious sending their kids back to school even though a lot of them can’t, like the mother running small her business on the brink of bankruptcy in the Bronx. Yet some kook bartender is running a revolution in plain sight while co-opting the antifa-like tactics of political movements that he the Blaz ideologically agrees with.

Something stinks to high hell about all of this. To be continued in the next episode in Impunity City.

Your city.

NYPD crime status report for the month of June shows murders are down from last year but shootings went up 7%, which means that the only reason no one is dying on the streets is that the perpetrators have shitty aim. Which is evident with most of the incidents listed on this months blotter on the “Safest Big City”

Bronx

In Concourse Village, a woman was tormented by a group of 12 boys and girls on a city bus who were insulting her for wearing a hijab. When she got off the bus to get away from them, they followed her off and surrounded her, took off her hijab and beat her down to the ground two separate times, first by a group of girls then by 3 boys. They ripped her hijab and the clothes she was wearing apart and damaged her engagement ring during the lynching, and robbed her handbag which contained a stipend check of $500 and three forms of I.D.

Cops showed up after the bias attack and detained three of the bigoted brats then released them.

When the woman went to file a report at the 42nd Precinct, they dismissed her because they initially claimed there was no video available of her biased based assault and that there were no cameras around to record any footage of it so they decided not to continue the investigation, which is laughably disputable with the amount of cameras placed in this city and the NYPD’s own obsession with surveillance tech. Compounding her difficulty was that the D.A. decided not to pursue her bias attack because she couldn’t recall what her bigoted attackers looked like as she still was suffering trauma from the beating she took.

Undeterred and not buying the NYPD’s complete bullshit, she had no choice but to get the footage herself. Despite the precinct’s lazy and dismissive claims, she got from video from cameras from two buildings showing two angles, distributed to the local news stations and now it’s under the purview of the hate crimes division and the D.A.’s office.

There are so many unsettling aspects of this incident. The first being the NYPD deliberately lied to this woman so to discourage her from seeking justice for a senseless beating that cost her over $4,000 in medical bills. The second is that the NYPD blew this off despite the rise in bias crimes in this city and country (which is being generally blamed by the comments of the President of the United States) which includes Islamophobic attacks like this one.. The third is that this happened a month before it got any media attention because of the efforts of this woman in spite of the willful listlessness of the NYPD. And finally is that with the amount of publicity given to bias crimes against the Jewish and LGBT communities even for things like graffiti and vandalism against them, that this beatdown of a Muslim woman would have warranted repeated updates by the corporate owned local news media or even national attention. Because even though Fatoumata Camara lived to tell about it and also get the evidence by herself to get justice, this is just as horrific and disgraceful as the bias driven attacks of Michael Griffiths in Howard Beach and Yusef Hawkins in Bensonhurst.

It should also be pointed out that these weren’t Islamophobes for these kids did not convey fear at all in attacking this woman. They are Islamothropes, because this conveyed hatred. Like other racist and biased mobs and incidents, it’s always about the hate.

Also in Concourse Village, a woman was caught in possession of 36 baggies of heroin and crack at her place of work at the D.A.’s office of the Bronx Criminal Courthouse when she dropped them on the floor.

The recidivist reckless driver then backed up into traffic and sped through stop signs and ditched the car he was driving. He got busted in a different fancy car when the cops pulled him over and was found not to be posessing his driver’s license. This fucking dick is one of the reasons why certain people want to shut down Rikers Island?

In Tribeca at the Franklin Ave. Station, a man got held up at knifepoint by a man on the stairway who demanded money from him. After robbing him of 7 bucks and a couple of cellphones, the mugger followed him down the stairs and slashed him in the throat.

In Columbus Circle, a man got slashed by another man he was arguing with on the street.

In Manhattanville, a man stuck two bodega workers with a hypodermic needle when they caught him shoplifting two cans of smooth malt liquor.

In Hamilton Heights, a bodega went on fire causing injuries to 3 people.

In Yorkville at the 96th St. Station, an entire Q train was bombed with very awful graffiti that looks similar to the bombing of the same train at the same station last summer.

In Penn Station, commuters were trapped in a tunnel inside a stalled Amtrak train for hours due to a track fire hundreds of miles away.

On Randall’s Island, a massive storm during a concert festival led thousands of people “fearing for their lives” to stampede while knocking down an art installation that was obstructing their path in desperation to get out of the rain.

In Murray Hill, a hawk devouring a blue jay on an air conditioner that he just preyed on was attacked by three other blue jays looking to avenge his death.

Staten Island

In Arrochar, a man beaten and strangled his wife to death then drowned his two children in a bathtub and dumped their bodies in the bedroom and then tried to burn the house down. He was caught by police roaming by the BQE. The man attacked two cops while shackled as they were transporting him a hospital to criminal court.

In Pleasant Plains, a man having a domestic dispute with his wife pulled out a rifle and threatened her with it, leading her to call 911. When the cops arrived, they were able to arrest him without firing a shot despite the threat he was. So it is possible to disarm an individual by calmy negotiating with an armed man (or woman). Usually, incidents like this usually result in excessive force and a wrought-out trial procedure.

In Richmond Valley, a man shot a 19-year-old man to death that he caught breaking into his house.

In New Dorp, a woman who didn’t have a license to drive sideswiped a vehicle while making a sharp turn, causing it to crash into an electrical pole, causing injuries to a fifty-year-old man and two children.

In Dongan Hills, a deviant hid in a stall in the ladies room of a restaurant as a woman walked in to relieve herself in the next stall. The creep then peered over the door and started filming her with his phone. naturally causing her to scream and to drop his phone. The screams were heard by two other men who came in and held him down.

In Southfield, two men jumped a man who exited a bus and robbed him of his watch and cellphone while placing him in a chokehold.

In New Brighton, a man stalked a woman into her apt. building and pulled her pants down and tried to rape her, then fled when the woman fought back.

Also In New Brighton, a man robbed an ambulance right by a hospital with the keys still in the ignition and drove it for a mile and abandoned it. He also stole an oxygen tank and some asthma medication.

Again in New Brighton, a man attempting to board a bus without paying got caught by cops who found he was possessing a gun. The man then bolted as the cops try to cuff him.

In West Brighton, a man got shot at a nearby park then went to a nearby deli leaving a trail of blood on the floor.

In Arrochar, contractors working on a water main pipe broke open a gas line, causing evacuations in 3 buildings.

In St. George, drug dealing, public drunkenness and fighting are still rampant at Tompkinsville Park even after it was cleaned up, new benches were installed and flowers were planted.

Also in St. George, a tow-truck driver was arrested on baseless charges after he tried to repossess a car belonging to a police officer.

In Stapleton, a man pulled over by cops hit the gas and rammed into their patrol car and sped off.

Also in Stapleton, a man stabbed a teenage male twice during an argument inside an apartment.

Again in Stapleton, a woman killed 23 cats in her house.

In Port Richmond, a pot dealer got stabbed by his customer and got beat down by his friends when his customer refused to pay.

In Mariners Harbor, a man was shot at twice on the street, getting hit in the leg and groin.

In Tottenville, a man slashed a woman on the arm inside her house then followed her outside after EMS treated her, then he injured three cops who were trying to arrest him.

Also in Tottenville, a man drove his car through a construction site and crashed into a home’s front yard while loaded on meds.

In Graniteville, a police officer committed suicide by shooting himself in his car near the 121st Pct.

Impunity Public Service Announcement: Cellphones should not be used as wallets. Because three boys using app-hail services ripped off 33 Uber and Lyft drivers for 3 months. The start by using a ruse telling the mark that they need to use their phones because they wan’t to go somewhere else and feign like their phones weren’t working or their batteries were low. When that didn’t work they would resort to the old method of physical threats and just rob their phones outright. The thieves then withdraw money from the drivers “employer” apps and transfer them to fabricated accounts they control. Their operation is done with them together or by going solo. Their last reported theft was a digital haul of $1,500.

Think of this the next time you go to one of those shitty chains that refuse cash and when the OMNY pay system takes over mass transit in a few years. Turns out the tech dweebs are fucking wrong again.

The Lpocalypse Project: The Gaslighting Of And Austerity Plan For The New York City Transit System By Governor Cuomo, Mayor de Blasio And The MTA

043And just imagine a barely functional and safe transit system and mobile daily commutes. 72nd Street Station surface upgrade by Yoko Ono Lennon. Not ADA compliant.

New York, N.Y.

2019 has and will become quite an historic year for New York City transit. But most definitely not in a good way. For the future of it looks fucking bleak despite all the optimism being expressed by elected and appointed officials about all the moolah for infrastructure improvements coming.

Now that it has been decided to keep the base fare of a subway/bus ride at 2.75 while eliminating the bonus charges and raising the cost of unlimited weekly and monthly cards, this would be a good time make a layman’s assessment about the current state of the New York City Transit System run by the MTA, the worst fucking transit system in the universe. Because recent incidents and decisions have given sunlight to the crisis below, as well as above and at ground level regarding our mass transit options, which will also have a deleterious effect on traffic on the island of Manhattan and on the streets and highways that will surely continue to deteriorate and the commutes regarding the and safety by all dependent on the buses and trains (not ferries, fucking please). And it’s also shown that no one is truly capable of being assertive, proactive and having independent or rational thoughts or ideas at MTA. It surely isn’t the board whose dithering members are appointed by the mayor and governor, despite it’s alleged independence and expertise.

But it’s clear who is and always was in charge and that’s our third go-round and self-christened progressive Governor Andrew Cuomo, whose very wrong hands and demented disruptor mind has determined the fate of the MTA transit imbroglio. Apparently, the governor is under the borderline mental delusion that he doesn’t have enough control and has divined himself the autocrat savior of the transit system. This is not even as ego driven like his overzealous order to get the 2nd avenue line finished so he can throw a new years party, this is Andy’s id taking control now with this idiotic and dangerous plan to keep the L train running on time. Even Moussilini would’ve shown more restraint and self-awareness.

But how did we get to this current lowly state of mass transit and the commuting crisis in general? It all began back in January, when the decrepit saltwater hurricane Sandy corroded Canarsie Tunnel was about to be shut down in a mere 3.2 months away. After three years of meticulous research and planning by the MTA board and recently installed transit president Andy Byford along with efforts by the D.O.T. to redesign the streets of the L’s path to remediate traffic with bike lanes and improve bus service on 14th st. (despite the haphazard designs), the Governor suddenly had an epiphany induced by a dubious recollection of being grabbed by a stranger who yelled at him, which led to a visit to the tunnel when he last looked longingly at things in there, and bemused to himself that the commute could still be saved.

So Mario’s son looked and pointed at things with an entourage of hoity-toity college academic officials with absolutely no experience assessing mass transit infrastructure, and decided to scrap the 15 month thorough renovation of the tunnel and rely on an earlier rejected plan to rearrange and restructure the infrastructure’s power supplies on top of the tunnel instead. Instead of fixing and fortifying the corrosion and cracks with good old concrete and mortar, the governor and his new egghead crew decided to go with a polymer glass coating instead. During this new surface coating, the L train will continue to run as scheduled on the weekdays while running on one track on the weekend and on nights after 8 p.m. in 20 minute intervals during the two year (or more) reconstruction.

Transit crisis averted? Not exactly, because this plan was previously and soundly rejected by Cuomo’s board because of the deadly risk of spreading and exposure of cancer causing silica dust that would be released during the construction as transit service re-opened. And the GIF NYC transit provided the public with showing how the trains will flow in one tube underwater looks scary as fuck. But Andy’s id was not going to let potential environmental hazard get in the way of slaying the Lpocalypse. This mentally ill megalomaniac decision is already causing reverberations to commutes and literally the environment along the L train’s tunnels path in the niche towns of Williamsburg and Bushwick.

Exactly a month after Andy’s L plan, the Graham Ave. Station in East Williamsburg (or Bushwick as it used to be called) had to be shut down because of an overwhelming pungent gas smell that sickened a few commuters on the train when it was stalled on the tracks and then nauseated the rest of the passengers as it was slow crawling to the ground zero station. In spite of this incident, an MTA official somehow discerned that the air was safe and the L train resume it’s schedule despite the peculiar appearance of high-powered fans laid on the gratings above the tunnel to extract the noxious fuel odors out.

Screenshot_2019-02-21 L-train smell source is abandoned gas station fuel tank, MTA says

The following day after this announcement, three MTA workers got violently ill from the fumes that were alleged to be gone as other workers took the precaution of pulling their sweaters over their mouths until they received protective face masks.

The source of the fumes had become an evolving mystery but for some bizarre reason, MTA chief safety officer Pat Warren still claimed that the air at Graham Ave. was still safe to breathe. According to lifestyle and occasional actual news blog Gothamist and the NY Daily News, the MTA attributions of the source of the toxic entity changed during the first 48 hours. First it was determined that it was fuel that was accidentally spilled from diesel trains being used during weekend work construction; then it was blamed on an abandoned fuel tank underneath an abandoned gas station; and finally and absurdly, the MTA tried to pin the blame on superfund site Newtown Creek from a Greenpoint refinery spill from the 70’s. Of all those theories, the one that makes the most sense is the first one, being that weekend work has already begun. The other two theories are asinine considering that both of them were unfounded given that there was no evidence the station tank leaked, which probably led to conjuring up some ooze from Newtown Creek that suddenly migrated to the subway tunnels. It seems the MTA is coming up with these theories not to be more transparent but to obviously gaslight commuters and the press from finding out what the fuck is actually going on.

Or maybe the MTA is feigning ignorance. Because when the FDNY showed up in full Hazmat suits to determine the toxic levels of the leak, they did not bother to measure it on orders from the city and state environmental boards.

That’s not the only gaslighting by our servants of mass transit. A month following the gassing of Graham Ave., as the pungent toxicity rose from the crisis below and spread into the ether above permeating apartment buildings and stores in the area, evidence of the error of Cuomo’s Id and his crack Ivy league team’s L revival decision manifested at Bedford Avenue station in Greenpoint, as a cloud of thick dust inundated the station on another Monday morning rush hour.

https://thenypost.files.wordpress.com/2019/03/bedford-avenue-542.jpg?quality=90&strip=all&w=915

Well, guess what was the contents of the contamination that scared the shit out of commuters, it was the presence of the predicted silica dust that was prophesized. But the MTA spokesman wasn’t divulging much but did proclaim that despite evidence of the thickness and noxious odor of the particles and the sight of workers and police with protective face masks on the platform, that the air was still safe to breathe! It evidently seems that the MTA is utilizing the same spin control that Christie Todd Whitman utilized to assuage the public back in 2001 that the air was safe to breathe at Ground Zero weeks after 9/11/2001 so the traumatized city service workers could resume excavating remains at the destroyed WTC site.

Evidently, the MTA is clearly trying to distract their worried commuters from the fact that the weekend work that was approved by Cuomo’s id is causing the environmental hazard it was expected to cause. Which is why this plan that was revived was rejected in the first place. And the MTA’s crass denials of the air quality should cause immediate pause to anyone that what if these were attempts by terrorists to poison the tunnels instead of just causations from worker incompetence.

Another little problem with Cuomo/MTA tunnel surface remediation plan? Well, last summer on the Jersey Transit, a PATH tunnel with similar infrastructure with overhead wiring exploded causing a metal bracket to pierce through a train’s ceiling like a spear, causing 700 passengers to evacuate awaiting a rescue train and another 350 remaining stuck on a train behind it from the sharpnel and debris on the tracks . Fortunately for them, they were near Penn Station. What’s going to happen when this happens on the L train when they are done moving that wiring on the Canarsie roof and putting that polymer balm on the cracks and crevices around the walls and the floor bed?

With the frightening prospect of taking the L as construction continues for the next 20 months (but certainly more than that). Mayor de Blasio, while nowhere to be found during those two toxic transit disasters as well as four recent incidents of transit debris falling from the elevated tracks in Woodside and Richmond Hill, continues to push his stupid and expensive NYC Ferry transportation option as well as funding another study for the loathed and loathsome BQX trolley.

As was expected of anything de Blasio promotes and focusing his attention on, the NYC Ferry has turned into a disastrously expensive boondoggle. For the subsidized costs for each $2.75 ride amounts to $10.73, which went up four and change from the 6 buck estimate from last year and went up two bucks from estimates a few months ago. As the costs of the new ferries on the way is going to cost another $369 million. The timing of this report coincides de Blasio’s announcement of the ferry’s expansion of new stops in Staten Island and Coney Island, which will not be ready till 2020 and 2021 respectively and another one at the Brooklyn Navy Yard which will be ready to launch this May. The launching of the Coney Island one next year is expected to balloon the already high subsidy costs to $24.75 for every fare.

As if de Blasio’s prioritizing of the ferry over the dilapidated condition of the subway and roads and the snails pace speed of the city buses wasn’t crass enough, somehow he couldn’t placate residents of the town of Canarsie with a ferry stop of their own, even though they compiled 6,000 signatures and actually have a dock ready for renovation. Which unsurprisingly validates the fact this ferry are basically ersatz yachts and is only beneficial and necessary for the wealthy and tourists and not meant for the commuting needs of the proletariat masses. Which the ready made stop at hipster frequented Brooklyn Navy yard as well as all the luxury development stops on the East River in Manhattan proves the inequitable treatment against the more frequented subway and bus services in spades (or anchors?). Besides, Canarsie didn’t have a chance because those real estate gentrification enabling porch monkeys at the city’s Economic Development Corporation didn’t put the town on the feasibility list, even though the Bronx town of Soundview never even had a pier before and they were declared feasible by the EDC. Amazing what becoming a real estate speculative hot bed with looming parasitic tower hyperdevelopment can do for an selective area. But despite being a reverse revenue generator, de Blasio’s inducement of the NYC ferry is a city taxpayer funded investment now even though the only benefit to come from this seasonal leisure  service will go straight into the bank account of EDC board member Mark Patricof who has a conflicted invested interest he holds in Hornblower from previously working in  private equity firm with holdings in the transit yacht provider.

But these are not the only transit offenses against the citizenry he swore to serve these last 6 long years, especially the poor he pandered to get elected in 2013. After much cajoling by house speaker Corey Johnson, Da Mayor relented and implemented the Fair Fares program to begin at the start of 2019 to be available to 700,000 struggling citizens. And what came naturally from the notoriously tardy and slow mayor, the program took nearly a month to send the discounts out and limited the distribution to 30,000 applicants. Expectedly from the two-faced liar, it was nothing but a half-measure because the cards were sent out as unlimited weekly or monthly cards instead of day to day purchases which these commuters usually spend, being that they don’t have 20 or 60 dollars to plunk down right away or even have the cash at all if they are without a job. The expected diminished result is barely over hundred people are using these Fair Fares. Why couldn’t the city tell the MTA to arrange the card like its done with the school and senior citizen reduced cards. But being helpful to the most financially burdened has never been much of concern for the notorious Mayor Big Slow.

Andy Byford

Of course, forgotten in this whole MTA mess is the man who was assigned to save it while stressing transparency and credibility for the agency, Transit President Andy Byford who arrived last year with such great fanfare and who was recently featured on 60 minutes last autumn, whose nfluence, authority and plans now been undermined and virtually eliminated by Andy’s id . His absence from the L train aborted shutdown announcement and his lack of input of the decision to sugarcoat the cracked tunnel walls and floorboards with polymer, which the initial contractor rightfully thought was a stupid and dangerous idea 2 years ago, was majorly conspicuous. Compounded with Gov. Stugots autocratic decision to junk Andy’s proven idea to upgrade the anachronistic signal system with a computer based CBTC that has been used successfully when he ran the tube in London and the subway in Toronto and has been effective since it’s been applied to the L line (figures) with some ultraband radio wave bullshit idea that Andy’s id got from Elon Musk, while Byford’s thoroughly detailed Fast Foward plan has not gotten one penny for its funding to this day since it was announced with great fanfare and widespread media coverage.

And it was looking very certain that he and FF will never get it, and recent and current history validates that horrendous fact according to NYS Comptroller Thomas de Napoli’s report as surmounting debts are going to interfere with all other moderation and renovations of the subways infrastructure. The Fast Forward plan as devolved into the Flying Fuck, meaning that Governor Stugots doesn’t give one about it at all. These two have not been in the same photo op together since I don’t know fuck when.

And Byford’s plan to make 50 stations handicap accessible was about to get chopped to 36 because of these looming debts, which derived from the blowback of the underfunding for the accessibility retrofits over a decade ago when just 1.8% was allocated for it and with the funding about to dry up as the final days of the current five year transit plan is about to end this year  If this wasn’t horrendous enough consider that 6 stations were shut down for months for surface and aesthetic modernizations like self-indulgent art and led screens flashing MTA bulletins and maps. The 72nd St B/C Station and the 23rd Street Station comes to mind.

007

With these dubious upgrades, Andy’s id’s MTA proves that the only subway improvements are designed for tourists to navigate through the city and niche parts of Brooklyn and Queens (and even the Bronx) on nice screens like the theme park this city has turned into. And all this art being installed is just there for the Instagram addicted. Supposedly the funding is only a morsel of budgetary spending, that morsel could have been allocated for initial funding on an elevator that could have been installed at a station where a mother killed herself falling down the steps while carrying a full stroller and her toddler daughter.

Too bad and too little too late that a federal judge recently decided that the MTA had to require all station renovations must be ADA compliant. The problem of course is where to get the funding again to honor the judge’s decision, because Mario’s son’s MTA burned through all the money that was to upgrade other stations, which would have also went into art that nobody asked for instead of signal and infrastructure upgrades, unsightly dilapidation of the ceilings, walls and stairs and of course elevators for the disabled as well for the elderly and children’s strollers. The latter which recently got tragic attention when a woman died trying to carry her stroller with child down along with shopping bags as she fell down the stairs when there was no escalator available in the city’s 7th avenue station.

But all is not lost for these looming and practically insurmountable expenses, for Governor Stugots budget passed with the ratification of congestion pricing to supposedly fix the MTA once and for all. Expected to accrue funding for the subway, a tolling system will be put in place to charge regular car drivers $11 and commercial truck drivers $25 to enter Manhattan below 60th street to downtown. Because that’s the way to derive funding for mass transit and levy it on people who choose to own a vehicle so they never use it and also to people that are just in town to do their jobs.

The thing is this tax levy on car owning commuters and delivery workers (a glut of them who don’t make a living wage) won’t be implemented until 2020, conveniently after the next election for Albany’s assembly and senate.

The only saving grace for car owners is that the congestion fees/taxes for driving in Manhattan will not be implemented until December 2020 (conveniently after the next election) and won’t go into effect in another two years, or maybe more being that there will have to be a system to take all the congestion tolls. Probably something like those ugly ass LINKNYC data succubi kiosks.

Of course there were more reliable and faster ways to come up with the billions to fix the crisis below; like the long overdue, sensible and fiscally responsible legalization of marijuana. But the arguments among all officials (mostly paranoid) about how it will be distributed and who should profit from it first and also expected resistance from rigid Republican elected officials and the upper echelons of law enforcement. But it got nixed from consideration in the budget hearings, so New York is going to continue to lag behind other states like Colorado, Massachusettes, California and the nation of Canada and lose billions in tax dollars from the manufacturing and selling of it.

And the big dirty obscene open secret of the minuscule taxes oligarchs pay for pied-e-terres in supertall dark luxury towers. But that immediately got crushed when REBNY sent their wormtongue minions to inundate news sites with developer agitprop and to Albany and persuaded the Assembly that these investor citizens ossified personal wealth absolutely can’t be sacrificed for the transit needs and safety of daily commuters. Despite recent heinous news of a billionaire hedge fund owner who paid $238 million for a sky high home on Central Park South and Jeff Bezos looking to purchase another multi-million dollar abode in the same building along with the four other ones he owns nearby on Central Park West. Hundreds of millions of dollars that would have been extracted from these welfare oligarchs and also from other American and foreign billion and hundred millionaire sloths who purchased these tax shelters in various luxury monoliths that have sprouted in Manhattan as well as the East River coasts of towns in Brooklyn and Queens are now gone. Gone with all the money that was never accounted for prior to this proposal.

You think the feckless Albany cowards would have debunked whatever bullshit REBNY’s wormtongues were spewing when all they had to do is look at Hudson Yards, where a train station built there before the gilded age girder and glass beanstalks were planted. While the developers, city and state were gerrymandering districts (and including Central Park) to pilfer billions from areas that needed it for affordable housing to fund it’s manifestation, the station flooded every time it rained and the escalators consistently break down even to this day. In a way, it looks like having people walk up almost 3 flights from the subway is a good way to train for the useless shawarma art staircase that you first see coming out of the station.

Which leads to the obvious conclusion that our elected leaders, appointed officials and the fucking MTA are relying on the neoliberal doctrine of using austerity measures to rebuild and improve mass transit. What usually happens with cutting costs for government projects and the abject refusal from officials to accrue funding from the wealthiest individuals, austerity always devastates the livelihoods of the lower tiers of the income ladder. Because with congestion pricing, the needs of the few (or the one) outweigh the needs of the many.

Like the taxi drivers, who currently contribute $2.50 to add on to the base fare while  tech corporations like Uber and Lyft only charge an extra quarter even though there are five times more of those app-hail cars on the streets that’s actually is at fault for all the congestion. Because of cab and livery drivers taking their own lives in the past year, this has been dubbed as the “suicide surcharge” by taxi veterans and representatives.

And everyone else will also be levied with this tax when you go to any store that sells goods, from supermarkets to department stores, because those costs are going to be added right to your purchases, adding to the prices that are already rising because of onerous state and city taxes and rent ossification. Even all you pious non-driving, bike, scooter and skateboard riding dependent on your butler apps for Amazon to deliver shit to your shiftless asses, you will be seeing costs escalate for your online consuming too and y’all know Bezos is not above gouging his customers as you’re transit commutes get more chaotic.

As for the #LpocalypseProject’s schedule, Northeast Brooklyn’s millenial urban professionals (hey, Muppies!) who will not tolerate waiting for 20 minutes or more or even the risk of getting poisoned from silica wafting in the air, they will predictably press their little apps and take pricey trips in those Ubers, Lyfts and all their imitators (and certainly more to come) to the city. While the added fees will get accrued for MTA funding it will predictably cause more congestion. No wonder Uber spent 2 million dollars lobbying to get this austerity measure ratified. They are going to make huge bank in the next year and no wonder the city rushed to get the suicide surcharge approved for just the cabs and apphails. That actually makes fiscal sense despite the levies it’s placing on their customers. But if they can afford 1700 to live in an SRO or 2200 for an “affordable” studio, the Muppies can deal with this hardship. But it still going to be a pain in the ass commute for everyone from the not yet gentrified towns of East New York, Brownsville and the ferry-less Canarsie.

As for the Canarsie Tunnel, that also is an austerity measure with inequitable results between the affluent and the working class grinders. Because this polymer coating  is just a half-measured temporary fix that is going to have disastrous consequences when the next hurricane hits this city (remember that bitch Sandy was just a cat. 1, what’s going to happen when it’s a cat. 3 or even 2?), and this infrastructure donut glaze coating of the walls and floorboards is just as cheap and effective as treating a wall with mold and grime on it by painting over it, which the MTA actually did at Union Square last winter.

Or covering it up with a nice poster

001.jpg

While service will continue to lag behind in the borough’s towns without niche, the city provided frequent bus transfers for L project sufferers so they can get to the J/M and G trains across town. Which will certainly be busier on the evenings and weekends than the rest of the borough’s long bus routes that are still suffering from slow speeds and late arrivals caused by…traffic congestion.

The appalling inequities that are present with the Lpocalypse Project I base on the fact that the MTA should have fixed this and shut down this tunnel immediately after the flood waters emptied out back in 2011. But that would have thrown a wrench on the over-luxury-hyper-development and fabrication-speculation market rate values of Williamsburg and then onward to neighboring Bushwick and Greenpoint and the Gentrification Industrial Complex of real estate, venture capital, private equity and the government they bought and now own were not going to let something like the safety of millions of commuters get in the way of the demographic  they want that are willing to spend frivolously and mindlessly to live in proximity of the dreaded L line.

The coddling of the moneyed hipster demo that overspends and resides along the L train line fearing that they won’t make any readjustments to their morning and evening commutes or routines. More essential to the Guvner and the Hotel and Hospitality overlords is that this L train fakeout will keep service still convenient for tourists residing in high end flophouse hotels and airbnbs in the Meatpacking district, Chelsea, LES, East Village and Williamsburg to continue frequenting all those theme bars, beer gardens, restaurants and cache take out joints in those areas being that they only need to travel a few stops in Manhattan and Brooklyn

And even the MTA is cognizant of this, because they are going head on to phase out the metrocard and replace it with a stylish but lamely named access card called OMNY, which operates as a worker I.D. card which will be used to tap a screen to pay instead of swiping. And it also will be app-accessible so you can use your cellphone to pay. Even though the brainiacs behind this stupid tech bullshit method refuse to reveal how this will effect people who pay cash (and people that will still prefer to pay cash). These type of transactions have proved to be discriminatory and the prospects for unwanted data extraction will be (hopefully) met with universal anger from commuters. Of course, the officials pushing this pay method (including Byford) responded with the tone-deaf default excuse that everyone already is distributing their data with their cellphone social media and app purchasing habits, so what does the right to privacy and individuality matter when convenience takes precedence over constitutional rights.

But like Moussilli, Andy’s Id still kept the trains running (assuming on time is pure conjecture at this point) despite all the ominous toxic signs from the two incidents in February in March. Further evidence of Governor Stugots austerity measures for the MTA is assigning his Ivy league team who convinced him to keep the L running during the tunnel reconstruction for every other remediation and renovation projects, which includes the upgrading of the signals thus superseding and undermining Andy Byford in the same manner that former Mayor Giuliani projected his seething jealousy on former Commissioner Bratton for his accomplishments in bringing down crime.

Cuomo’s adamant megalomania and de Blasio’s spineless indifference will add to the risks and dangers of the continued exacerbation of the subway. In the midst of this MTA manic depression breakdown, at least one of their board members reassured the reality of their transit surroundings by admitting and actually apologizing for the existential lousiness of the subway.

Now it’s day two of the Lpocalypse Project and as expected shit went wrong on the L with delays lasting up to 40 minutes. It looks like the folks at NYC Transit thought the GIF they provided of the trains navigating the single tube passage looked easier than they thought. But at least they deployed MTA workers to act as commuting ushers to help the critical masses of people to get on board the trains.

But tomorrow is Monday and that’s when shit gets real. Because there is still the menacing prospect of particle pollution that will surely appear again on Bedford Ave if the MTA doesn’t contain it, some of the workers moving commuters were already wearing masks as a precaution. And the shit’s gonna hit the fan now that it’s May and it’s almost summer. Will Governor Stugots Cuomo whoosh down from Albany to look at the results of his manic change of mind when the crisis below exacerbates?

Wait with abated breath. Which actually would prudent to do if you still are taking the L all the way through.

Good luck L commuters. You’re gonna really need it. But you’re gonna need a chemical mask even more.

The Sinclair Order: Manufacturing Obeisance

https://impunitycity.files.wordpress.com/2018/04/3fa19-theylive48.jpg

Sinclair Broadcasting Group, which owns 193 stations nationwide, gave all of their local news stations a memo “must run” mandatory order to read a P.S.A. to their viewers warning them of the corporation’s perceived theory of the proliferation of fake news from networks and digital venues that they did not bother to cite. To be more precise, media and digital news outlets and venues that they don’t run.

Initially exposed by one of Trump’s news media nemeses, CNN, Sinclair calls this memo their command “anchor delivered journalistic responsibility message.”

The script propaganda above was leaked from a Seattle TV station that Sinclair owns. But it’s dissemination to the other networks was so synchronized that it caught the attention of Think Progress which compiled other Sinclair station’s news feeds as their news anchors read the companies editorial propaganda.

This surreal video portending the potential of a passive fascist state run media was outdone with point blank depiction, remixing and condemnation by the sports website Deadspin.

This video shows not only the obvious irony and projection of Sinclair’s pathetic warning to their viewers about the threats about the networks they target for disseminating misinformation driven by ideological agendas with demagogic accusations inspired by the repetitive words and bilious twitter rants of Figurehead Trump in a deal organized by his daughter’s fucking husband to the media behemoth in his campaign surge to victory that is still being honored to this day. The bigger danger here is the way hundreds of people who have a modicum of celebrity from their TV anchor positions were willing to submit and follow the executive’s insidious and seditious directives to condemn fellow journalists and mislead their audience just to hold on to their jobs.

Sinclair not only wanted to beat their competitors by slandering them but wanted to also send a message that any dissent or disagreement by their employees will lead to retribution. In essence to promote and continue a vile workplace tactic of absolute control exploited by unscrupulous employers. This video and the source inspiring it, the Sinclair memo, is manufacturing obeisance not only among the newscasters reading this with hostage like expressions on their faces but to the general public.

But on the subject at hand, Sinclair’s Order is the most recent case of a history of corporate news media’s hand in manufacturing consent. A few years ago, someone compiled a video of various news networks throughout the nation reading the same weakass news stories with similar scripts as with the Sinclair Order without any variation. Which was pointed out gleefully then distressingly on the Jimmy “Voice Of America” Dore Show.

So the warnings were there all along. And now it’s reached the virtual point of return being that Sinclair saw absolutely nothing wrong with what they were doing and are emboldened thanks to the plague-like media consolidation that spread right after Figurehead Bill Clinton signed the Telecommunications Act in 1996  (which Dore pointed out the other day) that has neutered broadcast news ability to inform the public with honesty and integrity in the last 20 years. Exacerbated by the shutting down of long time print publications from the mergers the Act made possible.

Which is why we have an idiot in the White House right now, a willful and defiantly uninformed idiot. When Figurehead Trump heard that Sinclair was getting reamed for issuing their Order touting his moronic talking points and Fake News refrain, he trashed other networks like NBC and CNN on his social media feed, utterly missing the fact that Sinclair is not a network and simulcasts and makes money off of other networks like NBC.

Days after the damning videos and nationwide outrage from the social networks (except from the familiar faces of corporate national news media of course, even NBC), the chairman of Sinclair Broadcasting, David Smith recently blathered to New York magazine that there was no reason for the print media to exist anymore because it’s all fake to him and controlled by lefties. Tripling down on his demented personal quest to render extinct the original base for journalism that made his massive undeserved wealth and current odious influence on Trump possible.

And in a few weeks, Sinclair is about to get FCC permission to buy Tribune Media which owns and runs networks in major cities including New York’s PIX News, whose news broadcasters and programs already look and sound like a dutiful repetitive soft news factory. Which will continue the programming or agenda of preferring processed useless news stories focusing on entertainment and viral videos over stories regarding civic, civil and political issues and injustices.

But the problem with existential demons like Sinclair it’s not just about profits anymore, it’s about power. And information is power as Gareth (UK) and Dwight (US) from The Office once said and to Sinclair, Trump, and established elected officials from both political parties, both of those things shouldn’t be in the hands and minds of the citizenry but in the hands of said insecure, unscrupulous, greedy leaders and corporations. What they want is their viewers and their constituents (what will be left of them) to continue to be ignorant and enslaved yet still able to be accusatory and consume. And utterly dependent on their not at all benevolent masters.

Can’t be any more extremely dangerous to democracy than that.

Police brass are investigating claims by a veteran captain who alleges that some NYPD commanders are misclassifying felonies to hold down crime statistics in a bid to further their careers.

Capt. Marash Vucinaj has gathered 156 cases over the past two years from multiple commands that he contends show a pattern of downgrading some felony-level crimes to misdemeanors. The crimes include thefts and attempted thefts, assaults and assaults on cops. He does not claim the manipulation extends to murders and rapes.

The purpose, he said, is to shift crimes out of the all-important index crime category — made up of murder, rape, robbery, assault, burglary, grand larceny and auto theft.

Among the methods he claims he has seen:

  • Classifying incidents where cops are injured by suspects as resisting arrest, rather than assault.
  • Classifying grand larcenies as lost property and ignoring details that suggest a crime took place.
  • Classifying incidents where someone purposefully shot at someone but missed as “investigate shots fired,” reckless endangerment or criminal mischief.
  • Classifying incidents where a would-be thief slipped his hand into someone’s pocket or bag as misdemeanor “jostling” rather than attempted grand larceny.
  • Compressing several crimes with separate victims into one complaint report.
  • Failing to record crimes in the city handled by other law enforcement agencies.

High-ranking police officials sharply disputed Vucinaj’s claims of any widespread downgrading of crime. “I take serious offense at these allegations that crime reports aren’t taken right because cops shed their blood for these crime reports,” said Dermot Shea, the chief of crime control strategies.

“It goes against everything we’re trying to do to deploy our resources. We need those crime reports to deploy appropriately.”

A few days after touting and actually celebrating the record low murder rate (just 290 dead, a murder every 36 hours, hooray!), our NYPD of this/your city is under new scrutiny for downgrading the severity of crime statistics.

The creativity behind this according to Captain Vucinaj is disturbingly and conspiratorially widespread, showing an insidious sophistication that resembles the craft and skill sets of the biggest public relations firms. For example, Mayor de Faustio’s buddies in Berlin/Rosen.

Captain Vucinaj’s study revealed drawn down and peculiar reclassifying. Like shootings, targeted and crossfire, being filed as criminal mischief, basically associating sporadic gunfire with throwing eggs or toilet paper on Halloween. Shootings also qualified under the redundantly described reckless endangerment. The severity of such lethal activity got conveniently and literally lessened as long as the shots don’t hit or kill anybody.

Like how four people were held up at knife point and robbed and how three women had their wallets lifted and both were filed as one robbery because it was committed by one suspect.

Speaking of lifting wallets and also cellphones, the latter seeing a great increase because of it’s ubiquity and exposure, crime reports fell under the term “jostling” if the victims happened to robbed while asleep, bumped into and even with the perp just putting his hand in a purse or pocket, or classified as lost property instead of the standard, serious and accurate charge of grand larceny. Because your cherish personal belongings aren’t that essential you materialists, especially those fancy phones containing all your vital personal data and information.

The standout and most egregious of criminal activity is the diminishing of resisting arrest. What was previously classified as felony assault resulting from injuries caused during struggles was marked down to misdemeanor assault according to Capt. Vucinaj’s probe while working in the Transit Division. A remarkable amount of over 2,200 incidents out of over 3.500 involved a cop getting injured during an arrest with a rambunctious suspect in the span of 6 months.

Why that outstanding statistic is not revealed is not disturbing enough. But it makes a shitload of sense of why perpetrators are emboldened to go down with a fight before getting cuffed.

Similar altercations have happened in the last few months when a chump knocked over a cop after he was stopped jumping the turnstile when his train arrived, and a mentally ill man engaged in a struggle with two cops on a platform, causing one of the cops to fall down the stairs trying to apprehend him as he fled.

What’s perplexing is that these machinations are being ordered by the top brass of the precincts.More perplexing is that cops react with fervor and fury when a colleague gets shot or injured and this is going to encourage, as it has already, more skells to battle with cops and resist arrest. And it puts the cops on the street in more precarious and dangerous positions and situations, it may lead to more excessive use of force or another senseless, preventable and ultimately galvanizing fatality. The chiefs overseeing these crime spins are putting the lives of citizens and cops at more risk.

As with the standard procedure for investigating crime patterns, these markdowns gain more validation and credulity considering Deputy Inspector Peter Rose, recently promoted from captain from his precinct in Greenpoint. The same Inspector Rose who marginalized/reclassified the meaning of rape by stating that being raped by someone you know or dated is not as serious as being raped by a stranger (you can always depend on the kindness and aggressive sexual advances of those familiar with you, to misquote Tennessee Williams). Nearby in Bushwick, a woman had tremendous difficulty shaking off a stalker because the precinct she reported to kept giving her conflicting advice to avoid writing up her experience and told her flat out that she was wasting her time. An almost exact treatment by two precincts was given to a woman who was assaulted on the train because of the fact that the attack occurred when the train was moving as officers gave her conflicting excuses of where to file a complaint.

As with all great stories of the process of law enforcement and justice, there has to be a motive behind this. Maybe an ulterior motive. And it could only be, albeit cynically, is to make the neighborhoods virtually safe for habitation for market rate renting and home and condo ownership. As recent reports show a herculean percentage of whites moving into neighborhoods were crime was rampant in the bad old decades of the 70’s and 80’s like in Bed-Stuy, Crown Heights and Bushwick. And with the recent hyper-development in the South Bronx, Jamaica, Queens and the MIH zoning development being pushed by the city in East New York and East Harlem it is sure to get virtually safer there soon too.

It sure looks like the overlords of real estate are defining the charges, because all those nasty murders and muggings will make moneyed individuals think twice about living in these new posh burghs.

And these methods and stats seem to be in sync with sociopolitical and city planning interest from elected officials and those gadabouts in development and real estate for the  (quasi-)imminent closing of Rikers Island.

Captain Vucinaj should be highly commended for his due diligence for this irresponsible white washing and fudging of the stats, and the distressing fact that Compstat, like all technology, is not, never was and never will be infallible and can be easily taken advantaged of by the minds and hands of conniving humans. And since the persecution and casting out of Detective Frank Serpico, Captain Vucinaj has unfortunately become just another victim of the perpetual Blue Wall Of Silence and the sad, maddening culture of unquestioned exclusivity and fraternity of the NYPD.

Privately, police sources said, Vucinaj is known as a stickler for the rules and is not well-liked. “Cops don’t like him, his peers don’t like him, and no one wants to work with him,” one police source said. “Look at how frequently he’s been transferred.”Vucinaj, 45, has 24 years on the job and is the highest-ranking active-duty officer ever to publicly make such claims. A captain since 2009, he has been in 10 commands in the Bronx, Queens and Brooklyn. From 2004 to 2007, he was assigned to Interpol in Lyon, France, by then-Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly. He also commanded the special frauds squad and was twice selected to help write promotional exams. He has never been formally disciplined. For the past six months, however, he has been marooned in a do-nothing post in Transit Borough Brooklyn without an office phone, he says, as retaliation for reporting crime stat manipulation and other misconduct by commanders to Internal Affairs and the Quality Assurance Division — the unit that audits NYPD crime stats. All too often, the NYPD retaliates rather than investigates when officers report internal misconduct, and that sure looks like what’s happening here,” said Christopher Dunn, associate legal director of the New York Civil Liberties Union.“Instead of going after Captain Vucinaj, the department should be getting to the bottom of his reports, which come from a high-level official and raise serious concerns about downgrading and other wrongdoing.”The last time chicanery like this was going on was when it was exposed by a regular cop, Adrian Schoolcraft,  who also exposed endemic corruption involving ticket and arrest quotas, and the reclassifying and lessening serious charges of those arrests, arbitrary and retaliatory orders and assignments, the unconstitutional usage of stop question-and frisk and disregarding citizens complaints of vagrant and criminal activity. For doing his duty to protect and serve the public and not the culture of corruption fostered and enabled by precinct command and control, he was taken from his apartment by his fellow officers in the Emergency Services Unit and had him thrown into a psych ward at Jamaica Hospital in an attempt to get him institutionalized. That idiotic CIA-style rendition mission cost the city $600,000.This time it’s a decorated Captain and a city being run by an inveterate liar mayor. Although fortunately for Captain Vucinaj, he is protected by his high brass rank.As with all great stories of the process of law enforcement and justice, there has to be a motive behind this. This isn’t standard procedure, this is a conspiracy. It’s like there is new blue wall being built next to one of silence. A bigger blue wall of insouciance.

Executive Carnage; President Trump Is Fucking With You, Everyone And Fucking Himself

The expression of a man no longer in awe of his elected position. (Nicholas Kahm/AFP/Getty)

It would be an understatement to say that Figurehead President Trump has had a quite prolific week and that he has taken his reputation as a cutthroat landlord, contract squelching developer, and petty litigious dickface to the White House. But in this humble and bitter curmudgeon’s opinion and fellow resident from Queens, it can’t be anymore apparent than the look on that formerly orange and now Spalding Handball hued face of his.

It all started with the lying about the inauguration attendance and the emergency press conference to perpetuate and promote the lie while millions of ladies around the world organized solidarity marches to remind the world of his repulsive sexual advances and sexist shit talking, thus leading to the major network coverage diversion of news interest. An attempt to shut down social media capabilities at the Dept. of Interior backfired for the National Parks debunked the Trump’s proxy Spicer tantrum with their Twitter publication of Obama’s turnout. Which subsequently led to Trump’s chief counsel and continuing campaign manager Kellyanne Conway’s defense by adding the creative adage “alternative facts” to the nation’s intellectual diminishing lexicon.

But President Trump doesn’t give a fuck what you think, what you saw or even what the facts are

He went to CIA headquarters to address the agents and regaled them with his delusions about the crowd size and the news media he declared war on at the previous press conference. The speech was filled with President Trump’s natural proclivity for repetitive usage of positive adjectives (great, tremendous, you all know them) and was peppered with strange uproarious laughter from the agency’s memorial room as the President spoke. Reportedly, it was coming from staffers Trump bought in. Also reportedly, the CIA agents there, who are trained to kill with their bare hands, were spooked and unnerved by the President’s speech to them.

But President Trump doesn’t give a fuck.

Then came the executive orders, which were clearly written hurriedly and haphazardly without thought to reactions and consequences and to compliment the attention span of the renegade commander-in-chief. Influenced by those great generous minds at the Heritage Foundation.

The Affordable Care Act went first of course, which isn’t that objectionable because of the high deductable that makes it practically useless and universal health care would be cheaper. Still, this decision is going to give a lot of people on the plan anxiety, it might lead citizens to rush to join a plan that might be detrimental in the long run, and may discourage new customers from signing one, which may be the intent.

Then for some reason, there was an EO to enact fees on homeowners, which shouldn’t be shocking coming from this President and other multiple home owning elected and appointed officials who harp about the estate tax. This was a cut by President Obama, although in retrospect meager, to give homeowners some relief especially after the 2008 crashing of the economy by scumbag banks and predatory lenders.

After these two sadistic but mostly symbolic decisions, he found time to bitch and moan about the crowd size of the people at the inauguration. But that diversion bore some fruit because he went and signed an EO to track down on voter fraud. For he thinks that the 3 million who voted for Manifest Failure Hillary should have went to him, even the dead ones who registered and voted, presumably from the netherworld counties of these states and a glut of voters who are registered in 2 states. Contradicting his prior claim about if he bothered to campaign in the blue states he would have won them. Trump’s peculiar knowledge of the latter theory is ironic for the fact that his top advisors and family members are also registered in two states. Maybe the President is relying more on experience than misinterpreting a poll.

But the man doesn’t give a fuck what you all think and what you heard.

Then there were a flurry of EO’s that focused on trade and government bureaucracy. TPP was never ratified for this to mean anything and it’s despised in other nations (like New Zealand),  this was just a sentimental token signing. The federal hiring freeze sounds good to taxpayers, but the people that have these jobs most likely are middle class. So much for our President’s concern for the forgotten. Those pesky federal regulation guidelines got the symbolic axe from the President’s giant signature, so there will not be any impediments for cheap oligarchs from getting obese wealth at the expense of the safety of their employees and residents who live near their power plants or pipelines.

Speaking of pipelines, there is the utter moronic decision to revive the construction of the potentially disastrous Keystone XL and the government sanctioned plundering of the Dakota Access pipelines. Keystone is a massive risk to the environment and may be ultimately unprofitable and the Dakota pipeline has been rife with chaos due to the resistance of the Native American tribes to protect their only source of clean water and sacred burial grounds in the face of sadistic and quasi-legal oppression of the protests by using tactics like siccing dogs, shotgunning tear gas bombs and using firehoses in freezing weather. It should be noted that our President has a financial stake in the destructive Dakota access venture.

But we all know the President doesn’t give a fuck about emoluments.

As if there is any wonder if Figurehead President Trump is his own man and not one to owe some other people, say a foreign leader a favor for his recent and first real job, there is the EO and part theological edict of the “Global Gag” rule. Which basically defunds health programs by including or even mentioning the word abortion and expands to contraception use across the nation and the world, which can’t be more of a generous sop to Mike Pence and the GOP establishment religious ideologues that helped secure Trump’s nomination to the party. So much for fears of the President being compromised and allegory comparisons to Sharia Law. There is also the decision to end the funding of sanctuary cities, which is understandable considering how it’s being exploited in New York for example, but there would not be a need for them if other states weren’t so rigid and did their fair share taking care of their own poverty situations instead of forcing people out to more populous and denser regions.

These executive decisions would be intimidating except for the underwhelming fact that they are mostly symbolic and were reportedly filled with vague and conflicting language and not even confirmed by a key judicial branch. Which may have led to the devastating blowback to Trump’s most ardent supporters and immigrants who have a right to be in this country over the weekend.

The fucking wall in Mexico, the one that nation is supposed to pay for, that now has been decided by President Trump to proceed, has been botched and it now turns out that you the people are going to pay for it after all, maybe twice as revealed on the President’s bizarre interview on ABC last week. After the cancellation of the meeting by the very unpopular president of that nation, which Trump lied was mutual, it now turns out that we are going to pay for it first, via all the federal cuts and reactivation of fees mentioned earlier, and then Trump is going to slap a massive tariff at 20% for all Mexican imports, which will make this generations beloved Coronas and tequila, and even auto parts manufactured there and subsequently cars made here that need them more expensive. It’s practically a double dip on the American Taxpayer. So this fantasy that Mexico will pay for the fucking wall is based on wild-eyed speculation. Which is natural coming from a predatory real estate scion.

This interview had some other ostentatious displays of self-aggrandizement and prideful cognitive dissonance. Notably when the President was showing a expansive photo of his inauguration and his perceived millions that were there like when the dictator in the In-Laws was showing off his art collection and when he was dressing down the interviewer, David Muir, to his face by bringing up how Fox News depicts reports about him and how he derives his opinions on the news medias reporting on him by watching himself on television akin to Peter Sellers character in Being There. (Even Rush Limbaugh gets it, although wrong as usual)

Following this interview, he promoted his chief strategist, Steve Bannon, to head the National Security Council, a position formally held by generals. A rise in stature that was alarmingly fast and a disturbing break in executive protocol. A lot of conjecture is bandied about Trump being vulnerable to nation’s where he has financial interests and his political ties to Putin, but the rise of Bannon might be the guy he owes the biggest debt to.

Steve Bannon

And now we come to the Big Kahuna of executive orders. The temporary immigration ban on Muslim majority nations that are hotbeds of terrorism attacks and have ties to funding of terrorist groups, notably a permanent ban on people from Syria. With the exception of Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and The United Arab Emirates, nations that have actual ties to the Taliban, Al Qaeda and Isis and with the exception of Pakistan, palatial hotels and golf courses with the Trump Brand. Unlike the other orders, the actions demanded on the order happen on day one and on the weekend when plane traveling is highest. Hundreds of immigrants with legal work visas and green cards, people that were already vetted by this nation (though not extremely) were detained by the TSA officers and officials. Which led to protests to all of the cities major airports and apparently preemptive action by civil rights lawyers and elected officials to strike down the unconstitutionality of Trump’s arbitrary and draconian action. It has led to the invocation of habeas corpus in the acquittal of 2 immigrants at JFK and the Trump administrations lifting of the ban and the release of all those detained mercilessly.

This has led to the sudden action and awakening of elected officials in congress, after years of mutual complacency and toleration of Obama’s unconstitutional executive decisions and policies,  to boycott confirmation hearings of the attorney general. Trump may have possibly ruined Jeff Sessions chance to enforce the laws of the nation. Especially after the firing of the temporary AG Sally Yates for refusing to enforce his selective religious ban. Notably, in a sick Machiavellian twist, Sessions asked during Yates’ confirmation a few years ago if she would resist if she felt if the president went above the law. I guess that was only for the last guy.

But in spite of the widespread resistance from the masses and electeds, the dropping poll numbers and the embarrassing results from the EO hastily closing the borders to this nation, Trump still doesn’t give a fuck. His conviction that the world is a mess justifies his decisions. What does it matter when people who went through the proper channels to live and work here get caught up in the anti-terror ringer? According to the President, the nation and the world is a mess and has bigger problems to solve, even though none of the nations on the Muslim ban has even attacked our country, and two of them are known allies where our military are training those nations’ armies, Somalia and Iraq.

This may be just a shock doctrine test to see how the nation’s laws and judges react to this mess that he created. President Trump wants to rule by chaos and disorder and it doesn’t matter what those on the street with the funny signs or what the democrat minority in the houses in DC say.

President Trump is just fucking with people. Plain and simple. It’s what power tripping, unscrupulous bosses have always done since the dawn of man. He is the boss of America and he decides who profits and and who gets to live here.

This is the new normal. I am sure President Trump doesn’t give a fuck what Lindsay Crouse thinks either.

The Campaign For One Ego

Screenshot_2019-01-12 Mayor Bill de Blasio on Twitter

NY Post: Taxpayers foot bill for glitzy ad touting de Blasio

Just hours before Mayor de Blasio sent out a plea for donations to his re-election campaign, City Hall posted a 3¹/₂-minute video on Twitter with Broadway actors touting Hizzoner and his accomplishments — all paid for by taxpayers. Critics said the video does not violate city rules but raises a number of concerns about the mayor’s use of public resources to further his re-election prospects. “He needs to use his office to communicate to New Yorkers, but about what’s in their interest — not what’s in his political interest,” said Dick Dadey, of the watchdog group Citizens Union. “There’s elements to it that allow it to somewhat pass the smell test, but any accurate reading of this shows it’s an ad that promotes the mayor as much as it is informational.”

Not a de Blasio 2017 ad

The mayor has come down with acute megalomania. It even shows when he’s affable, like in the current release of city hall agitprop made by his media optics division in his 264 member loyal little farm team.

It seems all the time he’s spending, when in the first few years of his term was on the phone and his blackberry like some telemarketer and was courting an unscrupulous collective of developer tower land barons, restaurant owners, hoteliers, tech based firms and some tv production type for piles of money to shape policies, infrastucture and services in their favor, is trying to polish the daily growing pile of turds that has become his first term as mayor. But like Anderson Cooper once quipped, “technically you can’t polish any turd”. Certainly not when these turds are coming down on the mayor in a diarrhetic downpour.

This approach should be beneath a man with such alleged liberal convictions and a philosophy steeped in social justice. Most importantly someone who initially promised the constituency an end to the widening economic inequity of the upper and lower classes and to staunch the bleeding of the middle class. But it’s clear from his wretched conduct and abuse of his position that even the less cynical can see him for the confirmed phony he has become and has been.

His team of busy AV club elves have been working double time in the past few weeks producing this putrid sketch and other videos featuring that muslim cop that was hassled by some asshole bigot in Coney Island and one where he denounces the president-elect.

What this dope (of park slope) shares with Trump though is his contempt and latent oppression of journalists. Also, apparently, is his arrogant swagger, a defiant embrace of hypocrisy, and a sense of entitlement with his position that comes off mildly scary.

NY Times: Mayor deBlasio’s Media Freeze-Out

If Mayor Bill de Blasio has decided that he is going to answer questions only from “real media outlets,” and not The New York Post, why doesn’t he just go all the way? Revoke The Post’s credentials, and bar its reporters from City Hall and make an example of them. Let the other reporters learn not to offend His Honor. And if they don’t learn, he can stop taking all questions. Then the mayor will be free to do his business in peace and quiet, his message unfiltered, his administration shown only in its best light, through news releases and photo ops.

Mr. de Blasio got petulant when pressed by a reporter from Newsday for information about an inquiry into the Administration for Children’s Services and the death of a 6-year-old boy. “Come on — try and ask a real question,” he snapped. Then came this exchange with a Wall Street Journal reporter: Q. I’m just curious — taking questions once a week, and you know, insulting newspapers, media outlets — how do you think it’s helping you? How is it helping you? A. It doesn’t have to help. It doesn’t have to help. It’s the — well, I’m saying what I think is the truth. And by the way, I think the people share a lot of my view.

It doesn’t have to help. It also doesn’t help the environment in the city right now. Mostly for the people who work and live here 24/7/365. It doesn’t help any kid being tormented and trapped in a broken home with abusive lowlifes.

This recent transparency of his film crew is not new, in fact they have been busy for a while. Here is something they produced back a few months ago to counter the contentious protests of the citizens of Maspeth when they heard that a big lousy failing vacant hotel that the managers there decided to convert it to a homeless shelter with the city’s enabling and taxpayer funded dollars and barely any input from the community.

These videos were made to highlight and praise the program that has produced a record amount of homeless higher than the great depression and before the inevitable blowback of the horrendous current reports of the amount of homeless people, 60,000 plus and the monstrous costs, 72.9 million in the past year. Does it have to be mentioned that the nation was broke back then and currently our city and state has seen the economy go up. Not much is known what has happened to those poor people since these videos were released, since de Faustio’s crew has not made a follow up, but it’s quite certain they got shipped, or maybe stored in another hotel in another borough.

And now he’s trying to control the narrative, his, and is maligning certain targets (NY Post too easy) and trashing other news media coming to their defense. No surprise coming from a repugnant, manipulative jerk-off. But the Blaz is not alone, dismissal, dismantling and destruction of a free press is actually a world wide trend. Exacerbated by the cultural omniscience of the fake news phenomenon, it has buttressed a duality of cynicism and gullibility of the citizenry and is being easily exploited by immoral empowered types for their advantage. Although this isn’t working so well for our mayor, and  is going through a pained delusional state right now in his assumption of any support of the constituency, which is bred from a tone-deaf statement uttered only last year that out of state transients and tourists knew more than original New Yorkers.

Who knows what him and his agitprop drones are going to release next, but for certain this has to be stopped not only to prevent the daily poisoning of social media with lame sketch videos, but because yet again he is breaking the laws inherent of being mayor. It’s like he’s daring and inviting the feds to come get him. Not since John Gotti has there been a display of such haughtiness towards such scrutiny. Correction, since Donald Trump. Maybe also like his bedfellow rival, president-elect Trump, de Blaz may feel that as mayor, by natural law or urban legend, that he can’t have conflicts of interest or even feels, like Nixon told Frost, that nothing he does is illegal in his elected position.

This usually doesn’t end well with these beliefs and attitudes. No matter how much shit you use for frosting, or how much frosting you use on shit. Hopefully Mayor Big Slow’s comeuppance will come soon before his other little dopes make another smarmy video bit.
