Governor Cuomo And Cynthia Nixon Are Progressive Poseurs

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DYQbXxoW0AABBqd.jpgWhat are you doing Andrew? (photo: Latest)

The State Of New York

It looks like Mario’s son, Governor Andrew Cuomo has finally found his inner populist again. The first time when he bombastically gestured that he was going to put an end to perpetual corruption in Albany and assembled the Moreland Commission to do just that, only to annihilate it once it got too close to his inner circle aka his the two other men intthe room, Sheldon Shady Silver and Dean Skelos, leading to their indictments. All it took was for all his friends in the Buffalo Billion scandal to get indicted and his honorary kid brother Joey Percoco to get convicted for using the government offices under Andy’s purview for monetary and influential gain for him and his wife to find it.

Now that he lost all his friends, Andy came downstate to the city to expose even further the inhumane and wretched state of public housing with PIX news in tow all while Mayor de Blasio was out of town promoting himself as a supposed resistance fighter. Pictures showing the Guv pointing at dilapidated things and roach colonies and making obvious observations about how revolting it all is.

Well, let’s say his sudden presence payed dividends, because the apartment he made an example of NYCHA’s criminal neglect, resided by a paraplegic, got the urgent repairs and cleanup it needed. It may have also led to a similar fast track cleanup of an 83-year-old woman’s apartment that was inundated with mold. He also found $250 million dollars somewhere to speed up repairs for other NYCHA buildings (that’ll cover it in about the time he’s campaigning for re-election, natch). The Governor managed this with the same quickness as the opening of the 2nd Avenue subway line so it would be ready for his New Years Eve party and christening a few years back.

To top off his blatant photo-op tour, he participated in the city schools solidarity protest for the Parkland High School massacre, and died on the ground with the children around him.

His recent forays, even if did some good and was driven by spite to embarrass his fauxgressive mayoral foe, are doubtlessly suspicious. For one this drew some attention away from his idiot friend’s sentencing, how everyone he contracted to shore up the economy upstate with a solar factory are under indictment and of course his selective spending for the MTA, and another is that he obviously needs the city’s constituents to re-elect him so he’s doing some nice things, even piggybacking on a gun control youth movement. Yet he still won’t legalize pot.

In a way, Gov. Andy is trying to fast-track his own self-image as a progressive politician in a Scrooge like awakening. But it’s actually more like Robert Duvall’s minister in his masterpiece “The Apostle”, when after he cracks a guys head open with a baseball bat that puts him in a coma, he leaves town and shows up out of the blue into a broken poor town, assists in building a church and gives an inspiring sermon to the congregation.

Unfortunately, the sheriff comes for him and frog marches him out in handcuffs in front of everyone. Don’t know if Andy will have the same fate even though he clearly deserves it being what he has turned his elected position into, which is a sold-out figurehead compromised by his donors instead of a representative of the people.

But is surely shouldn’t be awarded to an actress with no prior elected office experience because she’s got progressive values or has been to political fundraising parties.

https://pixel.nymag.com/imgs/daily/vulture/2018/03/20/20-cynthia-nixon.w710.h473.jpgCynthia For N.Y. ad. Don’t call her Nixon for now.

Cynthia Nixon, who appeared in the Oscar-winning film Amadeus and is famously renowned for her role in a TV show and movie spinoff and is very cute, officially announced her run for Governor. Actors have run for office before and she certainly has her right, but she is definitively not qualified and already has negative aspects about her candidacy.

For one, she has never held any office in her life, for she spent most of her career in the entertainment industry. For that alone is the reason why this state, and as you, the people have seen with Figurehead Trump, is reason alone why no one can just up and say they want to govern because they feel like they can. I don’t doubt Nixon’s intellect, (her Miranda character was a lawyer I think, yeah I watched the show, anyone who had a girlfriend when it was on HBO were obligated to view it), but Don Worthless has ruined it for everyone inexperienced in public service. And speaking of the fat pussy who fires people on Twitter, she is using the same tactics but from a liberal bent. Slamming Cuomo for being the bought off politician he is and allowing corrupt cronies to run rampant and his unforgivable management of the MTA, but she doesn’t have her own solutions or plans for governing. And while she’s directing falsehoods about his progressive stances when he endorsed and helped legalize same sex marriage in the state making it possible to for her to marry her girlfriend. And it’s interesting that she didn’t bring up his fundraising or his budgetary misdirected and profligate spending.

And two, and this a big number two pun intended. For all the inferring talk on Cuomo’s corruption, Nixon is way too close to the most corrupt mayor in the past 170 years and stupidest mayor anywhere of all time, Co-Mayor Big Slow de Blasio. It’s going to be an interesting debate if Nixon brings up how Cuomo’s influenced by donor cash when she associates with the biggest whore in the nation dependent on real estate money and his own blatant illegal fundraising in city hall. There is also the inconvenient truth about how he let lobbyists tied to his mayoral campaign get access and sit down and participate in meetings concerning city services and planning.

Coincidentally, her campaign is being managed by two of his agents of the city too. Her first ad shows her with her toddler daughter, commuting on the train on a peculiarly bare platform and car (when was this filmed, 4 a.m. on a Sunday?) and speaking at rallies, notably one on a podium with a rainbow colored filled RESIST emblazoned on it. That’s three of the four food groups of optical progressive campaigning right there.

It’s early in the year but this competition looks solidified, being the fact that lots of money runs politics and Andy has lots of it in his coffers and certainly Cyndi will soon. Andy sucks, but Cyndi is not the answer or even a good alternative, although clearly the lady is way easier on the eyes. And again the Republicans aren’t putting up anyone good or even distinctive and they denied the one guy a chance, Joel Giambra, who actually has independent thoughts and actual progressive ideas (including an EXCELLENT one to legalize pot to fund the MTA with taxes from it’s sales) to campaign on the GOP line.

In the meantime, look forward (or not, I won’t and neither will you, the people) to a lot more nauseating feel-good electioneering and feel-good false promises from Mario’s Son and T.V.’s Miranda in the next 6 months.

It’s a choice between two poseurs. At least it’s not two evils. Well Cuomo was evil once, but he’s turned face because of mitigating circumstances. This state and democracy are quite fucked.

ThanksForNothing, Jive Turkeys: Mayor de Blasio Breaks Promise To Remain In N.Y.C., To Sick And Poor Children And Small Businesses And NYPD Commissioner O’Neill Gives A Promotion And Raise To An Ignorant Rape Negating Police Chief.

https://cdn2.newsok.biz/cache/r960-bd751ec42c85939ef10e6e2cefba8006.jpgJive turkeys. Go hooray yourselves.

A couple of notable things happened, well a shitload concerning Mayor Mandate, in the short work week concerning some peculiarly fucked up choices de Faustio and the Grand Wazoo of the NYPD O’Neil made.

Starting with the top cop. He just promoted Captain Peter Rose of the 94th Pct. in Greenpoint which covers that town and the obnoxiously overvalued Williamsburg and the ludicrous hipster hyped and gentrifying pandemic invasion town of Bushwick, to Chief Deputy Inspector. This is the guy who has special distinctions and definitions of what being raped is. This guy, his rank elevated for his observant expertise, thinks and announced at a community board meeting that some rapes are better than other serious ones. Who thinks men who know or hook up with women and full on rape them has less severity than the standard deviant, or stranger, who randomly attacks and rapes a woman on the street or a dark alley. Which Inspector Pete refers to as “true stranger rapes”.

Look how in his redefining of rape that he still blames the victim by describing her as a stranger than the attacker who actually is one. Meaning the negative connotation usually to describe a stranger to kids. It sounds more bilious when it’s actually coming from his own face hole.

“If there’s a true stranger rape, a random guy picks up a stranger off the street, those are the troubling ones. That person has, like, no moral standards.”

Deputy Inspector Peter Rose. Don’t get raped by strangers, it’s better that you know or date your deviant attacker.

Impunity City here focused on this story way back in January in the first story focusing on the Marginal Victims Unit that has been unofficially sanctioned by the city and the NYPD, when the 94th released two men who dragged a woman into a Call-A-Head in the early evening and violated her and left her crying and injured on the street.

It was after this ghoulish incident that Deputy Inspector Rose gave his ignorant interpretation rapes to residents concerned of the massive in sexual assaults and molestations that his precinct has seen in the past 5 years. The majority of these lurid cases still remain unsolved. Except for the port-a-potty incident, that was clearly decided and was found to be somewhat solved. That one may have been an acquaintance rape than a stranger rape. Because stranger rape is so wrong and abominable. It makes one wonder if Harvey Weinstein or Charlie Rose are planning on getting luxury digs in Northeast Brooklyn, for those guys could thrive as serial acquaintance rapists there. Being that acquaintance rape is more moral in the Inspector Rose book on appropriate consenting sexual relations.

As for the rationale behind this promotion, O’Neil remarked about his stellar career which officially supersedes his dumbass comments and also the nationwide interest of sexual harassment and forced molestation in the industries of entertainment, news and political office committed by men in powerful positions and of legacy in their fields. You know, by acquaintances. The commish also noted his executive accomplishments, which can easily be inferred by the violated woman and anyone with common sense that this particular trait was being utilized to spin the seriousness of the criminal act thus lessening the charge and artificially bring down the crime stats.

The promotion of a guy with such lack of credibility and equally abominable views on the stranger rapes he thinks counts more as a bane on society is alarming and outright moronic.

But in actuality his promotion and even raise does make sense, considering the daily  gaslighting coming from City Hall and the combination of apathy, ennui and fear in the ether of the 5 boroughs. Even though he is more public relations stooge (or agent of the city) than a vaunted police detective.

Funny how he brings up moral standards when he marginalizes violent sexual assault. Now in his new position, who knows how he’ll interpret other serious crimes like, say, shootings, stabbings, robberies and police brutality. What if they fall into the acquaintance bin too, which could be Inspector Pete’s version of The Memory Hole.

But this should not be a surprise and the city’s citizens should be acclimated to this entrenched cronyism by now with the re-election of Mayor Mandate, Bill de Faustio. Although he ordered one of his 20 spokespersons not to condemn this foolish undeserved promotion but to defer and deny responsibility of it, even though the mayor is by city law the boss of the NYPD and under his direction.

Speaking of the Dope From Park Slope and Massachusetts, all of his false progressive policies are turning to shit and having immediate devastating impacts on the constituency as well as his promises, that weren’t worth the shit out his mouth to start with. Recall, if you bothered to see it, that Mayor de Faustio adamantly told Maurice DuBois that he will be totally committed to serve the city and his term once re-elected. I myself tend to take people literally especially with craven habitual liars like William and again he didn’t disappoint validating this site and the people who didn’t vote for him and who didn’t vote, as he has decided to make a tax-payer funded trip to Iowa next week so he can help the Democrat Party persuade voters there to embrace progressive values and ideas. Which he could have done the first time he went there last year if he and Hillary’s DNC gave the endorsement to Bernie Sanders.

Since winning back his job and decreeing a bogus mandate, and getting a symbolic reprieve as his bubby Jona Rechnitz’s pal and crooked jail union head Norman Seabrook case wound up in a mistrial, with this pointless trip he will have spent two weeks in the first month of his second term away from the city, blatantly going back on his word to stay local and foolishly pursuing national attention.

It’s best to let da mayor explain and justify his lies via the digital platform he used also to justify his use of taxpayer money to pay his lawyers and his non-admission of big money donors influencing his civic policies and public services:

The fights I will take on going forward will have a common element: They will be about protecting the interests of New York and New Yorkers.

That is equally true of another cause near and dear to my heart: rejuvenating the Democratic Party.

My view of how the Party needs t‎o change is deeply based on my ideological beliefs. But my view is fundamentally pragmatic: the Party, as currently organized, simply can’t win often enough and in the places it should. And that has huge ramifications for New York City.

And I for one will devote ample time to Democratic efforts to win back the House of Representatives and the Senate in 2018. But as recent elections in New Jersey, Washington State and Virginia have shown us, change can come rapidly in state capitals if Democratic voters are organized and mobilized.‎ Those changes, state by state, will ultimately have a profound impact on us here in New York City — most notably in the makeup of the next Congress. In New York State alone, estimates are that Democrats would pick up three to four more seats in the House if fair district lines were drawn. That can’t happen with a Republican-controlled State Senate in Albany.

Not only did he outright lie about his priority job one as Mayor of New York, he is obviously looking to go national and bail on the 5 borough.

So what 8% of the registered voters got instead of a devoted public servant is a guy who is a DNC fundraiser and establishment toady, shill and delusional candidate for national office. Which going by his CONY slush fund operation in city hall, is the only thing he is skilled at, soliciting money and promoting himself and the party. He is taking his mandate on the road with him and using it to boost his profile to people who are not interested in him or even trust him. This almost sounds like the role he played in his jaunt to Germany a day after a cop got shot and killed on the street in the Bronx.

There is not much info on Progress Iowa at all, but it’s clear that they have shitty judgement to invite this corrupt mayor of your city and make him the keynote speaker of their fundraiser.

It should not be perplexing why he’s going Iowa for what looks like a bogus self-flagellating liberal pizza party. It’s clear that selling himself as some sort of concocted national figure with a watered-down agenda has been his Plan B to escape from New York and a frustrated pissed-off constituency.

And it’s also a good way to avoid scrutiny from the press he defiantly loathes for a little while. For he is surely aware of the burgeoning scandal involving the NYCHA lead inspection deception, breaking a promise to a voter and angered mother whose son is going through debilitating mental development dwelling in their toxic home.

On the subject of the continuing poisoning of NYCHA apartments and the deliberate falsifying of inspections, that may have been de Faustio’s plan all along. As it looks now that he is micromanaging the projects and other civic services like Hillary took total control of the DNC to solidify her nomination.

Like what’s going on in Queens involving the two biggest transportation arteries on Cross Bay, Woodhaven and Queens Boulevards. The installation and activation of the Select Bus Service bus lane on Woodhaven Blvd. is now causing massive traffic congestion and the underutilized space hogging bike lanes on Queens Blvd are now becoming detrimental to businesses that rely on driving customers to patronize their stores, markets and restaurants, and trucks to deliver their products. SBS, the stupid bullshit service, is also having a similar effect suffocating businesses on Cross Bay Blvd. All in the name of Vision Zero with a touch of arbitrary finagling and social engineering resulting in economic and societal chaos.

And like the vindicktive move he pulled a few days before the holiday when the chief judge from the Criminal and Family courts nominated attorney Daniel Horowitz for am advisory panel seat, only to be shot down by Mayor Mandate because he sued him and his 501 (c) (4) Campaign For One New York when de Faustio refused a subpeona into the slush funds records regarding illicit lobbying from the loathsome agents of the city. This classless stunt is just as egregious and stupid as Trump’s sacking of Comey.

Although the promotion of the rape expert Rose was blithely announced by O’Neil, the way it was handled resembles the sleazy controlling style of de Faustio, despite his spokes minion denying his influence in the department under his purview and direction. His tainted fingers might be influencing the rigmarole involving Ramarley Graham’s mother trying to get records of two NYPD sergeants at the scene of her son’s shooting death by a overzealous cop, which involved an amateurishly sloppy cover-up of the incident.

This guy, this confirmed part-time mayor, full-time huckster and change double agent is going to trek to Iowa and extol about progressive values and suggest what candidates to back (To all those being groomed for office, when you see this doofus, run run away). This guy is going to rail against Figurehead Trump when he is just the neoliberal version. This guy is going to stand there and condemn the one percent while he still is subservient to his real estate titan donors that are dividing your city, causing an affordability crisis, wealth disparity and destroying small businesses and displacing thousands from their neighborhoods. These are the new fucking Trumps.

Let this be the true definition once and for all about this inveterate liar. This is what his fake mandate consists of. In fact he has been running on a demented mandate since day one.

And when he campaigned that this is your city, he was talking about himself. His city. And he’s got his phantom mandate to prove it.

Mandate My Ass, Mayor Bill

https://pixel.nymag.com/imgs/daily/intelligencer/2017/03/01/01-bill-de-blasio-approval.w710.h473.jpgI couldn’t have expressed his delusions better myself. Hmm, yeah I could.

Just a few days after winning the election with the record low 8.5% of votes by around 700,000  out of 5,000,000 registered voters, Day Mayor Bill de Blasio decreed that he now has an official mandate to pass his bland fauxgressive neoliberal policies. He is so sure of this and himself that he petulantly repeated it 12 times to the press circle.

Of course he would say this, for shit-talking is the default standard for public speaking in these dark days of politics and money this young century.

Go, on Billy:

“Guys, an election’s an election. People decide if they want to participate,” he said.

“You can go back through every election in history and parse it and question it and relitigate (??) it, but we have one unified system . . . So this is a clear, strong mandate.”

N.Y. Post

“I don’t know what your definition of an election is, but my definition is that people decide to participate and whoever gets the most votes wins, and if you have a two-thirds margin, that is a clear, strong mandate, and that came from everyone that participated. I think it’s unquestionably a clear mandate,” he said in a City Hall press conference.

Politco

I guess he and maybe his cult of 300 city aides are looking at the wide percentage margin of the total vote instead of the 80% who didn’t bother to show up on Tuesday and the 70,000 less votes he got this time around.

Politico had a good analysis regarding de Faustio’s pathetic bragging citing a few books on the topic:

Christopher Achen and Larry Bartels show in their book “Democracy for Realists” that voters mostly choose parties and candidates on the basis of social identities and partisan loyalties, not political issues.

“Voters, even the most informed voters, typically make choices not on the basis of policy preferences or ideology, but on the basis of who they are — their social identities,” they write.

Julia Azari, a professor of political science at Marquette University, found in her book “Delivering the People’s Message” that presidents talk more about mandates either when their presidency is lacking legitimacy or when they are pushing at the boundaries of their authority.

“It’s a defensive strategy for politicians who feel like they are not legitimate, or under threat or flailing in some form or fashion,” Azari said in an interview.

She said that claims of a mandate are really about what the politician needs, as opposed to what the election was really about.

Which brings up the fact and the hubristic boasting by the day mayor about how Donald Trump played a massive factor in his small victory:

Hizzoner gave credit for the win to his message — but also to President Trump, who he claimed drove many voters to the polls.

“Oh, my God. Yes. Absolutely,” he said when asked if Trump played a role.

“I say with humility, I have been a leading anti-Trump voice,” de Blasio said. “A lot of people have been turned back on to the political process because of their frustration with Donald Trump.”

N.Y. Daily News

And why he is ultra-defensive and cognizant of his weakened status and his credibility with his constituents, even the ones who begrudgingly support him or voted for him out of fear.

Although it’s not like he didn’t try to persuade or even induce people to come out to ensure the legitimacy for his “mandate” even before he won. As if the awarding of $2,000,000 in matching campaign funds from the B.O.E. derived from his bogus claims of challenging primary competitors even though Bill had a 70% advantage and the public was not familiar with his opponents.

For it should be noted that in the weeks leading to the underwhelming turnout on Election Day, the mayor hedged his bets and made absolutely sure for his heavily favored certain victory by sending out a language translator contractor at taxpaying voter expense in southern Brooklyn, which was home to the presidential primary purge last year, to aide Russian and Creole speaking citizens to vote with orders to the NYPD not to interfere with the hired gun interpreters and the shady operation. Because the incumbent mayor and the minions in city council care so much for democracy’s process.

The taint of influencing voters and the recent admonishment of the BOE after their admission and charges didn’t do much to prevent the presence of the mercenary interpreters despite the 100 foot anti-encroachment order.

Now he’s back and declaring of a undeserved, unearned, self-professed mandate, it’s quite known who will benefit from this grandstanding. In fact, they already have been benefiting since the beginning of the weak mayor’s first term, and that’s the ones involved in the worst aspects of predatory development and equity being the owners and their lobbyists.

This was immediately acknowledged in the East Village in Manhattan, as community organizations are taking proactive measures to resist the invasive and enabled actions of the Gentrification Industrial Complex involving the re-elected mayor and his subservience to his developer donors in a mission to remake a residential area into a commercial metropolis. Also in Queens where Long Island City has just been subsumed by tower pestilence and massive rent increases in areas nearby in the last 24 months.

It’s what to expect from this stupid fucking idiot and the dire future the next 4 years hold for the citizens of the five boroughs. Persist and resist, and hope Norman Seabrook is found guilty (wait for it).

Impunity City Endorses Sal Alabanese For Mayor Of New York City.

https://i1.wp.com/news12bk.images.worldnow.com/images/15331409_G.jpgSee this guy. This is the guy who should run New York.

New York, N.Y.

This digital publication is getting behind and voting for Sal Albanese (Reform Party) for Mayor of the 5 boroughs. This was not that difficult after the last debate by the incumbent mayor and his recognizable opponents, Nicole and Bo.

See for yourselves, citizens.

De Faustio absolutely offered nothing and unwittingly admitted he accomplished nothing. Though he did take undeserved credit for the virtual decrease in crime and touted his farcical affordable housing plan and played down the homeless crisis he exacerbated with his cajoling and subservience to predatory developers and landlords. Jona Rechnitz cannot be the only one who benefited from his donations to the sell out mayor. Other than that, he spent the majority of the debate lying non-stop and defiantly answered that he would not release any more email or messages involving his pay to play dalliances to the journalists or the public that demands them.

Malliotakis has solid plans and policies for the city but she didn’t really go into depth about them and focused a lot of her time on de Faustio’s favored property tax issues. She did deliver some killer jabs and had a big KO in her closing statement, but the majority of the debate she flubbed a lot. Although there was one striking moment where she brought up the 25% rise in sexual assaults under de Faustio’s term that was predictably disputed by the incumbent mayor and even by the moderator Maurice Dubois who insisted she was mistaken. Turns out she was right.

Dietl, though subdued, was terrible again despite bringing up the mayor’s transgressions and opining that he should be imprisoned, which are actually inarguable observations, but what really stood out was his plan to build a tower for the homeless on Randall’s Island. Which sounds like something out of a graphic novel like Arkham Asylum. Which means that the city under Bo will have to start a new transit line, police station and fire dept. to accommodate it. Not to mention where will these people shop for food and other stuff. It’s got the makings of a very expensive boondoggle and a potential for more graft. After this shitshow performance, somewhere in the city, Bo is demanding 15 seconds.

What really distinguishes how none of these candidates at the debate are qualified to run the city is that they refused to answer a question brought up the moderator (narrator to Mr. Dietl, yeesh) about what to do about the pandemic of gentrification and what they would say to a citizen who is living in fear of being displaced. My fave Nicole blew it when she refused to even name a town that has seen the overwhelming devastating effects.

Well, Nicole, there’s the obvious of Williamsburg, Bushwick, Long Island City, Harlem, the East Village and Lower East Side. And the current threats to towns like Ridgewood, Rockaway Beach, Jamaica, East New York, East Harlem and the South Bronx.

That’s why the guy who is deserving and most qualified to lead the city, after over a decade of trying as a perpetual ignored underdog is the man who wasn’t there at the debate. Sal Albanese.

Albanese recognizes the consistent problems going on, especially the transit system with a plan to fund it which our mayor continues to ignore and defer to his idiot rival Cuomo to keep up his preoccupied idiotic feud with him, and a great and genuine affordable housing plan to use up vacant properties the city owns and ignores. And mostly to clamp down on the entrenched corruption, wasteful spending and gladhanding going on in local politics.

Albanese is the guy and has been waiting a long time for this. And frankly, it takes a lot of balls to take the reins of this city that’s in ruins but hidden by the tower pestilence of hyper-development and shady money funneling and investments nurturing it. It also helps that Sal is not compromised or funded by the REBNY overlords.

Fill in the circle or write in the name if he’s not on the ballot for Sal Albanese. As we are being reminded by a certain asshole, this is your city, so vote for someone who will not sell it out.

https://i0.wp.com/www.azquotes.com/picture-quotes/quote-when-i-talk-about-the-city-i-talk-about-a-city-that-elevates-people-which-is-the-strength-sal-albanese-145-91-88.jpg

As for the other positions;

James C. Lane (Green Party) for Public Advocate

Michel J. Faulkner (Republican) for Comptroller. Stringer endorses de Faustio despite all the horrendous reports of his spending and homeless policies

William K Kregler for Queens Borough President, because Melinda Katz is stupid.

Frank Francois (Green Party) for City Council District 27

Ivan D. Mossop (Republican) for City Council District 28 (Destroy the Queens Machine)

In District 29 for City Council, Karen Koslowitz is running unopposed, so leave the circle unfilled or write in a candidate. I suggest a bartender from Buffalo Wild Wings that you enjoy getting advice from.

Robert F. Holden (Reform Party, Conservative) for City Council District 30. Because Elizabeth Crowley is violent.

Donovan Richards (Democrat) for City Council District 30, running unopposed. Has good policies.

Paul Graziano (Reform Party) for City Council District 19. His opponents are dishonest hack and developer patsy Paul Vallone and a 20-year-old dungeon master/interactive gamer/Hurley from Lost looking guy running on the Republican ticket for some bizarre reason.

This one is tough, but Eric Ulrich (Republican) for City Council District 32. His moves must be watched closely though.

In District 34 for City Council, Antonio Reynoso (Democrat) is running unopposed. This is the spazz who came up with the night mayor position. He is an idiot, so leave it blank or write in someone or something instead, like a homeless guy wandering in traffic or a broken craft beer bottle.

Marc Fleidner for N.Y. Attorney General as a write-in ballot against the wretched sell-out Cy Vance Jr. who is running unopposed, which means even the worst wealthiest Republicans like and endorse this guy that they would not run a candidate on their ticket.

Finally there is Proposal 1 on the constitutional convention. I am voting yes for this because the worst elected officials, including the incumbent mayor of course, are against it and the NYPD went out of their way to illegally campaign for a no vote by plastering police car bumpers with stickers. A lot of fear mongering is also being used to influence the voters from considering it too.

Do your thing everyone. Let’s get a bigger turnout this time. Unless you want shitty government and corruption to continue to thrive.

Jona Sings! Mayor de Blasio’s Free Ride Re-Election Campaign Gets Cock-Blocked

https://i2.wp.com/www.zerohedge.com/sites/default/files/images/user230519/imageroot/2017/10/27/2017.10.27%20-%20DeBlasio_0.JPGThe mayor standing particularly close to the once upstart player now convict Jona Rechnitz

Manhattan Federal Courthouse, New York, New York

Impeccable, uncanny and unfortunate timing for the reigning mayor of the boroughs 5. Testifying during the bribery, racketeering and pension money laundering trial against former jails union head Norman Seabrook, Rechnitz was approached by the prosecutor about his relationship in the first year of hizzoner’s term, seeing that it was this transgression that got him embroiled in the current case he’s providing witness testimony for. Suffice to say, it looks like Jona stopped giving a fuck and responded like a player who himself got played like a sucker by the ambitious and ultimately ungrateful mayor and getting the brunt of it by getting incarcerated.

Rechnitz dropped the proverbial bomb about de Faustio’s willingness to dole city government service favors by all means necessary. Jona, with his donations and from various straw donors totaling around $193,000, was a de facto chief of staff for the morally loose mayor. He demanded to basically appoint the commissioners for the police and the Department of Buildings. He arranged luxury trips for NYPD higher brass with his pick Phillip Banks and Norman Seabrook for which he played a literal bag man by giving him his bribe in a Sal Ferragamo bag.

De Faustio, despite his persistent and constant denials and of course his mealy self-serving blog posts on Medium, seemed for a few years to enjoy and relish the company he kept. And also the new found power 75% of the 21% of the registered voters gave him. Being that he graciously gave his favorite donor his personal phone number and e-mail, messaging and reassuring his bubby that he was “all ears“.  That he actually held out playing for Jona’s pay by being slow (natch) to reduce utility bills, lift fines and violations on a properties he managed. Ordering his minion and campaign manager and CONY bundler Ross Offinger to hassle Jona for more cash. And needling Jona to coax Norman to stifle his opinions on the qualifications and character of Joe Ponte, the incompetent, disgraced boob de Faustio picked for jails commissioner.

There really should be no more argument of the character of our current mayor. Although the collective shenanigans of these and the machinations executed by these two like-minded fellows and the circumstances that ensued make a very interesting plot device. Jona’s is obvious, but the Mayor’s suspicious actions that followed his former bubby’s arrest and conviction is very interesting.

Consider when he ended his CONY fundraising and his agents of the city meetings in city hall. What followed immediately was his morning commute habit of going to the Y in Park Slope for workouts then trekking to Park Row to start the day in his official office at 11 a.m.. It has to be considered, especially when he got confronted by an activist who questioned him about the Rikers closing during his yoga workout wearing the inappropriate attire of cargo shorts, a belt and sneakers. And also of his redacted email releases titled “FLEX TIME“. Was “FLEX TIME” actually correspondence and more pay to play arrangements with other donors/the usual suspects? And what about him using his personal email and phone number for these conversations?

Another thing about those redacted emails mainly what actually was redacted in the ones involving Jona? Did de Faustio actually did confirm his picks for D.O.B. and NYPD? Especially the latter because Phil Banks was a favorite to get the job before he abruptly dropped out. Were any of the emails related to the illicit gun licensing?

And one more thing concerning “flex time”, was the Park Slope Y the new venue for de Faustio’s continuing courting of big time developer donor cash and advice from those agents of the city?

Jona’s recollections in court are equal parts super revealing, actually sincere and has a touch of braggadocio about it being the temporary mack daddy he was. It also takes a big shit on the mayor’s crowd surfing his way back into elected office and the pathetic attempt at transparency and credibility he is trying to build.

This is going to make the next debate more raucous than the last one. The difference though is that candidate Nicole Malliotakis has the advantage. And she did not wait to pounce either.

Karma is quite the motherfucker. The supposedly unopposed free ride is over for de Faustio. And even if he does win, with this way overdue damning revelation, he will eventually regret doing so much cheating for the power and privilege of the seat he holds and the damage to the city and his constituency that his selective policy making caused. Which will be enough to kick his big slow ass out that even the Democrat Machine D.A.’s will have to dredge legitimate charges this time.

Now the Campaign Finance Board wants to take another look at the shady donations Offinger goaded Jona for and de Faustio slovenly accepted. You know, to see if there were any improprieties involved. This after they gave the mayor millions of matching funds to his campaign despite having a massive lead over his Democrat challenger Sal Albanese.

For months the mayor was running free and now he’s running away from the truth and accountability. Again.

But he can’t run from the fact that he, as Mayor, ultimately played himself.

Update!

After 2 days of evading the press, Mayor Big Slow de Blasio addressed journalists about his former donor Jona Rechnitz by calling him (projecting him as) a criminal, a horrible person and a liar, and how he can’t (won’t) remember contacting him about telling          Norman Seabrook to lay off road trippin’ Joe Ponte. And how he can’t remember being even in the same room with him, despite photographic proof like the photo above.

So that’s that, voters. The mayor of NYC is lying to you. To your faces. This is beyond plausible deniability, it’s recklessly brazen deniability. This recent nauseating public gesture by de Faustio is the worst case and amateurish usage of Goebbels’ method of telling a lie often enough so it becomes true.

What’s really pathetic about Da Mayor is that he is tripping over himself despite getting off without being charged last spring. He could just easily admit dealing with his felonious friend and just say money and politics are a way of life and legally accepted because of the McDonnell v United States SCOTUS decision and running city government honestly and ethically is virtually impossible. It would convey a sense of pragmatism, which was the basis in 2 books prematurely released about his short time in elected office, which he misspent a bulk of it networking, fundraising, commuting 4 hours to work every morning, on trial, and napping.

I guess despite the heinous legitimacy of it, you just cannot consciously come off not looking like a two-faced unethical scumbag for engaging in such behavior.

What a stupid fucking idiot.

Mayor De Blasio Irritably Tells Student Reporter He’s Not Doing Affordable Housing Right Now

http://assets.nydailynews.com/polopoly_fs/1.3522987.1506452903!/img/httpImage/image.jpg_gen/derivatives/article_750/highline27n-1-web.jpgWhoever asks me a question about city policies gets a fat lip.

The High Line Park, New York, N.Y.

NY Daily News: Mayor de Blasio finally visits the High Line eight years after opening

Mayor de “Faustio”, still on his city hall reality tour, had his massive crack team of aides arranged a trip on the upscale High Line Park in Chelsea. The stroll was accompanied by students from the P.S. 33 Chelsea Prep School, some of his commissioners and his nemesii gaggle of reporters.

The nice unseasonably humid day was marred as Mayor Big Slow arrived 20 minutes late and seemed grossly unprepared about the aspects of the upscale gentrifying park and the fact that he has never visited it once in his term. (Well, he has been busy) The students were very knowledgeable about the lush greenery around them, enough to impress the mayor and were very observant and inquisitive about the press accompanying him and how he was trying to ignore them. He responded to the kids that they “followed him around”. Silly press doing their jobs to inform the public about accountability from elected officials and authority figures.

But it’s where he went later to his alma mater at New York University to meet with an old roommate of his that he dropped this Freudian slip grenade to a student reporter as he was exiting the building.

According to The New York Times:

As Mr. de Blasio left the university, a student reporter named Sam Raskin, tried to ask a question about affordable housing. “We’re not doing that right now,” the mayor said as he made his way out the building

Emphasis fucking mine.

“We’re not doing that right now”. Ok, now this quote is isolated and out of context. And there is no video, as of yet, to see the expression on his face or body language delivering these lines. It definitely is though, his usual response when he refuses to answer questions that doesn’t, to him, involve what he policy is discussing, as when he bolted from a press conference in front of a billionaire row tower in Midtown. But now as witnessed by journalists during his recent electioneering stroll as he refused to answer any questions pertaining to policy and his plans and policies when/if he gets re-elected, it has devolved into full blown venomous contempt at anyone that asks a question, no matter how soft, like when he was asked about the sumac the student pointed out, but certainly those that are pertinent to the constituency.

“We’re not doing that right now”. This dismissive and insulting response may just damned himself and his mayoralty despite it being an attempt to insultingly blow off a budding journalist. And might have put any credibility regarding his affordable housing plan into the crapper. Where it belongs. For the majority of these mixed income buildings, even the measly 20% that thousands of the poorest citizens of the 5 boroughs are not affordable at all. The area median incomes continue to rise because of overvalued real estate speculation, more luxury towers keep rising and even the market rate apts. in these new buildings are having an effect on the actual rents and the qualifications for yearly salaries to apply for them. A recent crop of new buildings in Brooklyn and Long Island City measly affordable apartments start at around the 800-1000 range while the majority of the units go for the insane and fabricated market rates of $2,000 for a studio, $2,500 for a one bedroom, and $3,000 for a two bedroom.

The real crazy part of de Faustio’s 10 year plan for 200,000 affordable apartments, in congruence with probably more than a half a million luxury apartments, is that the plan was already in fruition back in 2012 (and even that plan was horrible and detrimental). So even though he implemented his policy just last year, some of the buildings and the actual policy were already being used, so technically, Bill hasn’t produced much. Except make this affordable housing scheme even worse, by licking the boots of his predatory developer donors and listening to the technocratic stratagems of their public relations firms and his deputy mayor Alicia Glen.

Another take from the Times piece should make anyone pause at this man’s disgusting obliviousness, which possibly the kids there did too. At 26th street on the High Line, there is this big window overlooking the street and acts as a cinemascope for the view east, which consists of the project housing across 10th avenue just across the street from the upscale leisure and arts scenes and tower utopia that have engulfed the stretch:

The entourage stopped at an area of benches set out over 26th Street and looked through a frame at a public housing development across the street.

“It is just a big open viewing station; that’s all it does?” Mr. de Blasio asked.

“It was meant to showcase a lot of what people don’t see in the neighborhood,” Robert Hammond, the co-founder and executive director of the Friends of the High Line, told him.

Very cool,” the mayor said.

Very. Cool. If he can only get a view of the utter lack of coolness of similar projects in other places, as those buildings roofs continue to leak, mold continues to fester, and rats and roaches continue to invade and spread disease. This is what’s going on now, as it’s been for nearly a half century, with the real affordable housing in the city he governs.

Student journalist Sam Raskin may have finally got the correct answer from this mayor about the affordable housing stagnation going on, albeit inadvertently. And de Faustio may have exposed himself as the stupid fucking idiot he is just because he couldn’t answer a simple question. Especially something he deceptively bragged about not long ago too.

He knows what it is, and that’s why he is stonewalling. 2 recent stories detail how his current plan is not helping the working poor at all, and how the overvalued rental market rate is exacerbating the costs of living here for the majority of tax-paying residents whose salaries can’t keep up when the rent is due compared with the wealthier citizens, who can actually afford to live in these alleged affordable housing buildings and have a better chance winning the lottery for the apartments they would qualify for, and still have a robust savings account.

Good job Mr. Raskin and the kids at P.S. 33, you all did more to expose this fauxgressive neoliberal jerk than what the dailies and the prosecutors have tried to do since his elected office transgressions began 3 years ago.

New Bad Days 34: Bill de Faustio Wins Mayor Primary With Barely Over A Tenth Of The Five Boroughs Going To Vote And A Little Help From The Incompetent, Irritable BOE And The Calculated Indifference Regarding Endemic Corrupted Politics In Elected Office By The Corporate Local News Media

http://assets.nydailynews.com/polopoly_fs/1.3491825.1505279023!/img/httpImage/image.jpg_gen/derivatives/article_750/primary13n-11.jpgDamn, Damn, Damn

Crooklyn

At a theater in Boerum Hill, Mayor Big Slow Bill de Blasio celebrated his primary victory over candidate Sal Albanese, beating him with 59% of the votes of a pathetic and apathetic 14% of the electorate in the 5 boroughs. A meager 400,000 registered democrats in a city of 3.2 million of them.

The mayor, who lucked out of a widespread wide-tentacled corruption investigation involving favored legislation for moneyed donors, running an illegal campaign fund in a government office and siphoning money to upstate democrat senate campaigns and is running on a hollow slogan as bad as his former boss Hillary Clinton’s “I’m with her” with “this is your city” and nothing else.

This farce of an election and it’s utter disinterest in it is the result of the constituency quitting. If there is even a constituency anymore, since it seems that the majority of citizens in the past 5 to 10 years are mostly transients and might not even be registered to vote or even to a party. And also because of a local news media that has been willfully absent as the Democrat Machine has seen some de Faustio endorsed candidates and established politicians involved in shady behavior and machinations of their own. There is recently elected Carlina Rivera of the East Village, who is living in section 8 housing with her husband who ran 3 coffee shops that failed, is a partner in a current one, owns an luxury apartment in Soho, and his father is a wealthy high powered lawyer in a white shoe law firm and was recently exposed in photos, deleted by his wife on her social media account of him cruising on a yacht. There’s recently elected Francisco Moya, who to qualify for the Jackson Heights council seat, lived with his parents in the area but owns a luxe apt. in Long Island City and is profiting financially from both residences. There’s Councilman Paul Vallone who used children to elicit signatures for petitions and encouraged forgery in them. Finally there is Elizabeth Crowley, cousin of alpha dog hack Congressman Joe Crowley, who is just plain stupid.

Despite the despairingly apathetic showing at the poll sites, the low turnout was still exacerbated by reports of polling sites being switched and technical malfunctions with the machines. It’s enough to believe that the people who are responsible for the electoral process want to make an American custom and divine right of the citizens born or naturalized in this nation like voting for the people to represent them want to make it meaningless.

Now he is taking this weak ass victory as momentum for his Republican opponent Nicole Millotakis and maligning her for her support to Donald Trump. Which is hysterical because Bill would have been sitting his indicted fat ass on a bench in the Southern District courthouse with his taxpayer paid lawyers from Kramer Levin if Figurehead Trump didn’t do him a solid by firing Preet Bharara.

So the efforts and non-efforts to keep an entrenched system of passive endemic corruption and to maintain big club of elected hacks at the expense of the public and actually the environment because of the Gentrification Industrial Complex, de Blasio has a good chance, unless he fucks up royally in the next month and a half, of returning to his undeserved position to continue running the city into the ground. But not for this city, but a lame, banal and inequitable version of it. He will, as he is currently, be the Impunity Mayor of Impunity City.

Your city.

Governor Mario’s Son Andy’s Deranged Designer Proposal For Staten Island-Another Prick With A Wall

Gov. Andrew Cuomo speaks to the press on the FDR Boardwalk behind The Vanderbilt Tuesday after announcing a plan to widen the promenade atop a buried seawall. (Staten Island Advance/Rachel Shapiro)Governor Andrew Cuomo speculatively measuring his plans coming to fruition.

The East Shore, Staten Island, N.Y.

To protect the shores of the beachfront to defend against future hurricanes certain to come and threatening rising sea levels, the State of New York and the Federal government has granted the coast lines of Fort Wadsworth to Oakwood Beach with a  buried seawall and levee to be constructed, with a boardwalk for pedestrian and possibly bicycle usage on top. The project will start construction in 2018 and set to be completed in 3 years (better hurry up.)

Although it’s supposed to function as a security apparatus, our visionary artiste and event planner governor deems it unsatisfactory and not ostentatious. Oh, no, for it to be truly worth the costs it has to have the usual superfluous additions and attract travelers yearning for new destinations.

Lo and behold!

Why don’t we really think about this as an attraction rather than just as a functional device,” said Cuomo. “Let’s build something that enhances the island and enhances all the homes that are looking at the promenade.”

“We don’t want just a walkway for seven miles that frankly is going to be a wasted opportunity,” said Cuomo.

DNA info

You see, it can’t be just a regular boardwalk. So in spite of the drab and dull plans of the Army Core Of Engineers, Andy wants to widen the boardwalk beyond the original plan so it could hold events, marathons and those overpriced food concession stands this generation raves about and takes photos of. And stands to sell those rancid craft brews Mario’s son loves so much.

When the Advance asked Cuomo, who gave few details in his presentation at The Vanderbilt, how his proposal would differ from what the plan already includes, he said, “We don’t think it’s enough, I think it’s too narrow. We’re talking about a 30 or 40 foot promenade, we’re talking about amenities along the promenade. A promenade is a tourism destination, it has amenities, there are food kiosks, there are benches, there are lookouts. There’s all sorts of ideas that you can do.”

He added, “It could be a tour of all the different cuisine that New York has to offer, it could be a tour of all the craft beers that New York has to offer. It could be a walking museum. It could be a lot of things. We don’t want just a walkway for 7 miles, that frankly, is going to be a wasted opportunity.”

A spokeswoman later told the Advance the multi-use promenade “can support a range of recreational activities, including outdoor concerts, beer and food tastings, cultural festivals, nature walks, seaside carnivals, bike races, marathons and other running competitions, environmental education, and other events and community gatherings.”

The cost of the project, expected to be completed in late 2022 — originally 2021 — has steadily increased from an estimated $579 million to the most recent $615 million estimate, making the federal government’s share about $400 million; the state’s share about $154 million; and the city’s share about $62 million.

SI Live

Of course such inspired lunacy leads to sacrifices, like the amount of state taxes extracted from your paycheck. And because of Andy’s proclivity for wasting money that’s not his own, the project already is behind schedule. Which totally goes against protecting the homes and citizenry from the next Sandy like devastation.

Which makes the following proclamation from Andy Andy’s mouth so perplexing

“This isn’t just a wall,” Cuomo said. “We should think of it more as a promenade with a boardwalk and concessions. Let’s build something that enhances the island. Let’s increase real estate values and improve quality of life.”

NY Daily News

It shows once again that people elected to wield great power and responsibility still are too dumb and easily forget past history when they are overwhelmed with blind ambition and even unsatiated greed. The latter that can cynically refer more to the interests of REBNY than the homeowners on the borough, who will certainly lose everything if a massive category 3 storm comes in a year’s or maybe a month’s time.

Most importantly, Andy exposes himself for the brazen ignorant hypocrite he is by putting superficiality and frivolity first with his irresponsible grand redesign of the seawall in spite of his grandstanding of his belief in the extreme effects of climate change after chastising Figurehead Trump for pulling out of the Paris Accord.

No wonder this jerk thinks he can be president.

Whoop-dee-shit

Brooklyn-Queens, N.Y.

On an overcast Thursday evening above the polluted creek dividing the boroughs, our governor and tax payer funded glorified event planner and party promoter, Andrew “Mario’s Son” Cuomo opened the new Kosciusko bridge, a name he still can’t pronounce, to great cheesy fanfare to about under a hundred attendees and assembled elected officials, appointed aides, corporate news vans, and assembled cops and EMT’s to provide security and medical aid in the unlikelihood of a terrorist attack.

He christened the bridge with a drive in a vintage car once occupied by Franklin Delano Roosevelt, which had to be procured from a state museum and restored for use. The speculative costs for this vanity joyride is surely not cheap and sure to infuriate everyone who has to commute after this pompous act of self-aggrandizement. The only good takeaway from this sight and the subsequent mocking footage of Andy’s little trip is that he resembles Raymond Babbitt driving his dad’s car for the first time on a hotel driveway at Las Vegas in Rain Man.

I’m an excellent driver, EXCELSIOR!!!!!

After fulfilling his life long dream of driving a car that was used previously by a politician that Andy will never hold a candle to for what is ultimately some aspirational photo op for his DNC approved presidential bid, the long awaited and heavily promoted  promised debut of the bridge light and music show. It did not disappoint to say the least, for you can’t disappoint if it already sucked. Get ready as Governor Cuomo pulls the switch!!

Immediately noticeable is that the title posting on the youtube supplied by Mario’s son’s office refers to new infrastructure as the “K”, maybe it’s for brevity or to start a nomenclature trend, but that not only that Andy still can’t pronounce the name but probably can’t spell it. And to thwart any silly internet wisecracking or valid counterpoints, unfairly derided as trolling, GovNYCuomo closed the comments section (very clever Andy).

And for all the pomp and circumstance and millions of dollars in ad production and paying for broadcasting time promoting it (these ads are not available for online viewing, very clever again Andy), what the gargoyle prince of the state gave all those passing by and in attendance by the polluted creek was a display of cheesy lighting befit of two decade old windows media player 9 visual download plug in. So lame was the visuals that when the lousy laptop dj supplying the tunes, who sped up the city ballad anthems of Billy Joel and Frank Sinatra so they terribly segue into and from heavier and danceable jams by Ace Frehley and Alicia Keys. The worst part may have been when “New York State Of Mind” went into “New York Groove” and the visual produced on the latter song hilariously was syncopated to the beat. A drunk with a flashlight could probably do something comparably entertaining. And this was just the first part, this thing actually had an intermission.

The second part played 3 songs in their entirity that was supposed to fit the theme of Mario’s son’s glory hogging achievement (why didn’t they just play the NY songs in full instead of poorly mixing them in a medley?) The first was the worst song of all time, “Happy” by Pharell Williams, the second was “Signed,Sealed, Delivered” by Stevie Wonder and the last was inexplicably was “Born This Way” by Lady Gaga. The meaning behind this setlist could mean that with this bridge and show, Andy brought happiness, he signed, sealed and delivered it, and his political legacy was anointed to him at birth or yearns to be a unapologetic flaming drag queen.

All this effort exhibited and executed for a little ass bridge over a smelly ass creek in grossly, obscenely overvalued rental market rate areas certainly took precedence, if Cuomo and his stalwart aides deigned or cared to notice over the alarming recent state of a bridge across the borough of Queens, the Whitestone Bridge, reported by a concerned citizen, Alfredo Centola, last Sunday.

Severely scary stuff. This was after a rainy day of scattered storms. Looks like there is an alarming breach on the south side of the bridge. I am not an engineer, but this comment should be noted for future reference:

The new roadbed is already cracked, the runoff isn’t making into the drains.
The real issue here is whats going on inside the structure we cant see (or some contractor doesn’t WANT anybody to see)!!

Its a drainage failure alright. The fail could be 800 feet away in the suspended part of the roadway
Now if an expansion joint or roadway rebar and steel re-enforcement eventually fails due to rust & corrosion guess what happens ?

And this following comment for it’s sardonic morbidity

GERONIMO!!!!

What is it going to take to get this the refurbishment or attention it needs. Does it count in this new New York, it does feature the bridge in the new ads promoting growth and prospective bridge light shows, but it has various big buts against it. There isn’t any mass transit near the bridge in both boroughs, it’s not bike accessible, and the residency there lacks the millenial demographic with all their senior citizens and families with children. Still this is one of the major bridges, if not one of the biggest in the city. And it would really be a bit of a disaster if it developed a sudden sinkhole as cars are finished crossing over or heading to the Bronx, and who knows the conditions of the middle of the bridge.

So our stargazing future and event promoter governor better not park FDR’s car back in that museum or let go of his tech laser light show buddies yet, because he has to roll up his sleeves, creak his neck east, come up with some other fond memory of his cursing father and get some professionals over to Whitestone, stat. If he is such the big boy bridge builder and want’s to be the next leader of the free world in 4 years.

EXCELSIOR!!!

The Campaign For One Ego

NY Post: Taxpayers foot bill for glitzy ad touting de Blasio

Just hours before Mayor de Blasio sent out a plea for donations to his re-election campaign, City Hall posted a 3¹/₂-minute video on Twitter with Broadway actors touting Hizzoner and his accomplishments — all paid for by taxpayers. Critics said the video does not violate city rules but raises a number of concerns about the mayor’s use of public resources to further his re-election prospects. “He needs to use his office to communicate to New Yorkers, but about what’s in their interest — not what’s in his political interest,” said Dick Dadey, of the watchdog group Citizens Union. “There’s elements to it that allow it to somewhat pass the smell test, but any accurate reading of this shows it’s an ad that promotes the mayor as much as it is informational.”

Not a de Blasio 2017 ad

The mayor has come down with acute megalomania. It even shows when he’s affable, like in the current release of city hall agitprop made by his media optics division in his 264 member loyal little farm team.

It seems all the time he’s spending, when in the first few years of his term was on the phone and his blackberry like some telemarketer and was courting an unscrupulous collective of developer tower land barons, restaurant owners, hoteliers, tech based firms and some tv production type for piles of money to shape policies, infrastucture and services in their favor, is trying to polish the daily growing pile of turds that has become his first term as mayor. But like Anderson Cooper once quipped, “technically you can’t polish any turd”. Certainly not when these turds are coming down on the mayor in a diarrhetic downpour.

This approach should be beneath a man with such alleged liberal convictions and a philosophy steeped in social justice. Most importantly someone who initially promised the constituency an end to the widening economic inequity of the upper and lower classes and to staunch the bleeding of the middle class. But it’s clear from his wretched conduct and abuse of his position that even the less cynical can see him for the confirmed phony he has become and has been.

His team of busy AV club elves have been working double time in the past few weeks producing this putrid sketch and other videos featuring that muslim cop that was hassled by some asshole bigot in Coney Island and one where he denounces the president-elect.

What this dope (of park slope) shares with Trump though is his contempt and latent oppression of journalists. Also, apparently, is his arrogant swagger, a defiant embrace of hypocrisy, and a sense of entitlement with his position that comes off mildly scary.

NY Times: Mayor deBlasio’s Media Freeze-Out

If Mayor Bill de Blasio has decided that he is going to answer questions only from “real media outlets,” and not The New York Post, why doesn’t he just go all the way? Revoke The Post’s credentials, and bar its reporters from City Hall and make an example of them. Let the other reporters learn not to offend His Honor. And if they don’t learn, he can stop taking all questions. Then the mayor will be free to do his business in peace and quiet, his message unfiltered, his administration shown only in its best light, through news releases and photo ops.

Mr. de Blasio got petulant when pressed by a reporter from Newsday for information about an inquiry into the Administration for Children’s Services and the death of a 6-year-old boy. “Come on — try and ask a real question,” he snapped. Then came this exchange with a Wall Street Journal reporter: Q. I’m just curious — taking questions once a week, and you know, insulting newspapers, media outlets — how do you think it’s helping you? How is it helping you? A. It doesn’t have to help. It doesn’t have to help. It’s the — well, I’m saying what I think is the truth. And by the way, I think the people share a lot of my view.

It doesn’t have to help. It also doesn’t help the environment in the city right now. Mostly for the people who work and live here 24/7/365. It doesn’t help any kid being tormented and trapped in a broken home with abusive lowlifes.

This recent transparency of his film crew is not new, in fact they have been busy for a while. Here is something they produced back a few months ago to counter the contentious protests of the citizens of Maspeth when they heard that a big lousy failing vacant hotel that the managers there decided to convert it to a homeless shelter with the city’s enabling and taxpayer funded dollars and barely any input from the community.

These videos were made to highlight and praise the program that has produced a record amount of homeless higher than the great depression and before the inevitable blowback of the horrendous current reports of the amount of homeless people, 60,000 plus and the monstrous costs, 72.9 million in the past year. Does it have to be mentioned that the nation was broke back then and currently our city and state has seen the economy go up. Not much is known what has happened to those poor people since these videos were released, since de Faustio’s crew has not made a follow up, but it’s quite certain they got shipped, or maybe stored in another hotel in another borough.

And now he’s trying to control the narrative, his, and is maligning certain targets (NY Post too easy) and trashing other news media coming to their defense. No surprise coming from a repugnant, manipulative jerk-off. But the Blaz is not alone, dismissal, dismantling and destruction of a free press is actually a world wide trend. Exacerbated by the cultural omniscience of the fake news phenomenon, it has buttressed a duality of cynicism and gullibility of the citizenry and is being easily exploited by immoral empowered types for their advantage. Although this isn’t working so well for our mayor, and  is going through a pained delusional state right now in his assumption of any support of the constituency, which is bred from a tone-deaf statement uttered only last year that out of state transients and tourists knew more than original New Yorkers.

Who knows what him and his agitprop drones are going to release next, but for certain this has to be stopped not only to prevent the daily poisoning of social media with lame sketch videos, but because yet again he is breaking the laws inherent of being mayor. It’s like he’s daring and inviting the feds to come get him. Not since John Gotti has there been a display of such haughtiness towards such scrutiny. Correction, since Donald Trump. Maybe also like his bedfellow rival, president-elect Trump, de Blaz may feel that as mayor, by natural law or urban legend, that he can’t have conflicts of interest or even feels, like Nixon told Frost, that nothing he does is illegal in his elected position.

This usually doesn’t end well with these beliefs and attitudes. No matter how much shit you use for frosting, or how much frosting you use on shit. Hopefully Mayor Big Slow’s comeuppance will come soon before his other little dopes make another smarmy video bit.
