To start off chapter 90 of the New Bad Days chronicles of New York City, here is this tweet straight from some putz who works for NYC Council, trying to snarkily dispel any criticism or even palpable evidence that the city they represent is “dead”. Well it may not be dead, but it sure is bleeding, wounded and fucking more dangerous than it’s been in over 20 years (and fucking broke as well but that’s for another inevitable post) with 121 percent more shootings this month compared to October 2020, emphasized by the shooting deaths of teenagers in gun and gang violence. And all this is happening during Mayor deBacle’s recovery for all of us.

In October’s post about NYPD’s compstat index crime stats on the NYC Mayor’s website and despite how it was pathetically white washed, there were 399 murders committed in 2021 which is just 8 shy of the total for the entire year of 2020. Other crimes that have exceeded the totals of last year are rapes with 1,241, robberies with 10,822, grand larcenies with 30,768 (!!!!) and auto theft with 8,084 (the only “improvement” is the decrease in burglaries even though there were still 10,000 committed).

Keep up the snark city council cronies, because those red flags only symbolize the blood that’s spilled this month and all year long.

Manhattan

In Times Square at the 42nd St. Station, a woman got up from a bench and randomly pushed another woman off the platform and missed killing her by a second as the 1 train was arriving, but still caused serious injuries to the victim who fell back onto the concrete from the impact of getting hit by the train. Then the woman casually walked away.

The mentally ill woman had multiple priors for charges of assault and robbery, her most recent offenses were robbing a cellphone after scratching a woman’s face and savagely beating down a woman on the A train after getting into and argument with a man who shoved her and a judge released her with a desk appearance ticket for breaking her victim’s nose and knocking her teeth out. This time a smart judge imprisoned her on $100,000 bail and charged her with murder.

Also in Times Square and also at the same station, a man shot himself in the leg while taking a piss on the platform.

Again in Times Square at the 42nd St. Station on 8th Ave., a homeless man ripped the wallet out of another man’s hand after he refused to give him money.

Then the man committed suicide by blowing his brains out during a three hour standoff with the cops.

Again in Harlem, a belligerent reprobate opened an emergency window on a city bus and climbed out of it while two passengers held onto him since the bus was still moving. The reprobate then bit and spat on a mans hand who was holding him and spat on the other man as they were preventing the jerk from hurting himself.  When the bus stopped, the reprobate spat on the other man who reacted by pushing him out along with his shopping bags. The reprobate then built up a wad of saliva and snot in his mouth and wouldn’t leave until he spat on him again.

Then he went on a rampage and banged on the deli’s windows, which provoked the deli worker, who came out with a golf club, and his co-worker to chase him away. But the man remained and got into a tussle with the deli worker, who swung the club at him and missed him and then the man stabbed him to death.

In Midtown, a man bumped into a woman while riding his bike on the sidewalk and called her a xenophobic slur.

Also in Midtown, hundreds of people told Mayor de Blasio to go fuck himself and called him an asshole as he was marching in the Columbus Day Parade with his minion staffers, who collectively clapped their hands and cheered the mayor so his ears wouldn’t hear and his brain wouldn’t register the derision and loathing from his constituents who are sick of his big ugly face.

The hooligans also robbed another woman’s purse who saw the crime go down and robbed a man’s bookbag on the way out. If anything, since they were allowed inside the building, at least they were vaccinated.

And again in the Upper West Side, a 71-year-old man caught a stray bullet in the leg from gangbangers engaging in a shootout nearby an elementary school. Three suspects hopped in a car and fled the crime scene.

In the Upper East Side at the 63rd St./Lexington Ave. Station, a 16-year-old girl climbed down onto the trackbed and decided to commute by foot to Queens by going through the subway tunnel. The girl was met by cops at the 21 st./Queensbridge Station who removed her from the tracks.

Also in the Upper East Side, a super freaky woman with a microphone ambushed Mayor-elect Eric Adams on the sidewalk as he was walking to a campaign stump with his powerful elected Democrat Party allies and then she disrupted their booster rally by asking Adams if he’s a dirty cop.

Then the hilarious woman curses out fauxgressive council crony Ydanis Rodriguez and a security guard for getting in her way.

This is all you need to know about how they all felt about her presence. You can’t be afraid of a woman with powder on her tits.

Adams interrupted

In Washington Heights, a man got shot to death during a drug deal gone bad in front of an apartment building.

Also in Washington Heights, a man attacked a woman napping on a park bench and ripped off her clothes and then attacked another woman nine days later at the same park and tried to rip her clothes off at knifepoint but the woman fought back and ran.

In NoMad, cops on patrol caught three men suspected of pulling off high end in a black Benz with tinted windows by a restaurant, and when two patrol cars cornered them the driver sped down the sidewalk and nearly ran over dozens of people milling in front of a restaurant, compelling one of the cops to shoot at the vehicle and blowing out the windows and windshield. Two of the thieves then abandoned the fancy car and ran, but the cops were able to catch and arrest one of them trying to escape. The perp is currently imprisoned on a weapons possession charge and $50,000 bail.

The NYPD is linking these gunpoint heists to one gang and estimate that over $4,000,000 in jewels have been plundered in the last 3 months in 3 of the 5 boroughs. A most recent one was days earlier in Tribeca, two men ambushed a diamond merchant by his car after he walked out of a posh barsteraunt and held him up at gunpoint and robbed $150,000 of jewels and ran away with them.

In the East Village, a gang three young men, one of whom was 14, beat down a man and stabbed him multiple times on the pavement and stole his scooter.

In Little Italy and the Lower East Side, a gangbanger went apeshit on random people on the streets; first he threatened a woman with a broken bottle at a cafe, then he snatched two butcher knives from a restaurant and used them to threaten random people including an elderly couple who were in his path. When the cops showed up and caught up to the lunatic, they tazed him multiple times but they had zero effect on him and then he broke north with the cops in pursuit while he was still wielding the knives and they tazed him again and shot at him but still couldn’t take him down until they finally trapped the skell and tazed him a few more times and cuffed him. Maybe it’s time to throw former commissioner William Bratton’s weak ass tazers in a garbage incinerator.

In Stuyvesant Town, a grown ass man got into an argument an 11-year-old girl and then socked her in the face and pulled her hair and then began to choke her and then punched a 15-year-old boy who tried to intervene after she and a bunch of kids were hassling him and a friend of his passing by them while walking their dogs.. The hipster strangler worked with a non-profit organization that was dedicated for helping troubled kids and young adults. He also was a board member although the NPO is claiming he never had such a position despite his name saying such on their website.

In the Lower East Side, a man walked toward a group of men on a street corner and shot a 16-year-old gangbanger to death point blank at his face and wounded another man on the knee in a gang-related attack. A man and his girlfriend fleeing the scene of the crime tried to take shelter in a nearby cineplex but was refused entry until they showed vaccine passports. The victim was scheduled to appear in court for an armed robbery offense and was previously charged with vandalizing a teachers car when he was 13 and also multiple muggings of Asian people and had a murder case against him that got sealed in the last few years of his short life.

Also in the Lower East Side, a man taking a break sitting on a park bench after midnight after delivering food for an app-food service company got accosted by a stranger who sat down next to him and demanded he give him his ebike. Then the lowlife slashed him in the face and stabbed him in the gut and rode away with it, as the worker bled out on the sidewalk trying to catch him and then died hours later from his wounds. The victim recently bought that ebike a month earlier.

Also in Union Square, a man shot a man in the leg in the subway on the NRQV platform during the start of the evening rush hour after he demanded his cellphone and his victim wouldn’t comply. The NYPD transit chief actually said the victim should have gave up his property while spinning the act of gun violence occurring on a crowded heavily used subway station as a rarity and making a ludicrously false claim that the subway is safer than ever.

The perp held up another bank in Chelsea the next day but got caught and arrested by cops when he tried to take the 1 train at the 28th St. Station (but were the cops wearing masks??) and was caught with three guns in his backpack. Following his arrest, it was found that he robbed a bank at gunpoint and made off with $1,100 in Chinatown before he took the train to Union Square and stuck up a man ordering food inside a deli and robbed him of 45 bucks the day before in Midtown. The perp tried to preserve what little self-respect he had by cursing out the prosecutor and the judge during his arraignment.

In Downtown Manhattan, a man with 136 prior arrests that was about to be transferred to Rikers Island attempted suicide by trying to hang himself in a holding cell at the central booking jail in the criminal court building. He still died from his injuries.

Wonder why he would decide to snuff it?

When pressed about the continuing dystopian ultraviolence and uninhabitable environment at Rikers after photos were finally published of the deplorable conditions at the few facilities left on the island and a  new expose of women C.O.’s getting sexually assaulted by prisoners, The Blaz naturally blew them off with non sequitor talking points, deflecting his responsibility for the disintegration of order and humanity of the island prison complex, even though his idea to close it for good has turned the jails into modern day medieval dungeons; illustrating once again that he doesn’t like to be reminded of things he already knows.

The suspect, known as “Chulo,” fired a shot into the knee of the teen victim who was playing basketball at the Hunts Point Playground.

The boy was involved in menacing anti-social behavior with gangs before he sought vengeance against his snapchat foe. It wasn’t reported if the crook’s mark was napping during the larceny, but a chunk of robberies on the subway was because the mark was dozing off at the time. Meanwhile, robberies and other felonious violent crimes have gone up since summer ended and current Mayor de Blasio sees absolutely nothing urgent about these trends.

In Sunset Park, a fire engulfed a rowhouse apartment building that caused injuries and homelessness to 16 residents.

Cops caught the younger gangbanger at an apartment building he tried to hide in and found his ghost gun in a stairwell. The young perp had two prior gun arrests earlier this year during Spring. Queens

In Brookville, a man who beat up his girlfriend on the street and threatened his mother evaded police who arrived to arrest him on a warrant for assault by crawling out the window of his mother’s house and then he climbed up and occupied a tree in front of it,  where he remained for 52 hours because he didn’t want to go back to Rikers Island. The cops coaxed the man to come down by offering the man a banana. Bet they thought that was mildly amusing.

During the nearly 3 day ordeal, the NYPD deployed hundreds of cops to force him down but then coaxed the man to come down by offering the man a banana (bet they thought that was mildly amusing). But a violence interruptor organization had more success and managed to persuade the mentally disturbed man to come down.

An area resident who just happens to be a NYPD chaplain was not only utterly taken aback at the size of the NYPD’s presence and the  excessive and ludicrous resources they had to take down one man from a tree (like using drones), but also that they didn’t have a functioning unit to deal with mentally disturbed people.

Queens Chronicle:

“I’m a neighbor,” Perry, who said police turned the neighborhood upside down for three days, told the Chronicle Monday. “There was noise, banging and floodlights … if they would have called the crisis prevention program, it would never have led up to this.”

Thomas was traumatized from his time on Rikers, according to Perry. Instead of a crisis management team, nearly 50 officers were on the scene and tried to get Thomas out of the tree by bribing him with food, using bright floodlights, flying drones and banging on some drums.

“There was noise and banging and floodlights and that was never the goal,” said Perry, who has known Thomas for six years. “The goal was to get him treatment … and that could have been resolved instead of all that manpower.”

Perry, who also happens to be an NYPD chaplain, suggested to police on Oct. 6, that they should reach out to a mental health crisis prevention team, but she said her recommendation was ignored.

“If they had called them from the beginning it would never had led up to this and now he is publicly humiliated and our neighborhood is now a target for a man that was in a tree,” said Perry. “People are still coming here to take pictures and it’s embarrassing.”

In Willets Point, the FDNY raided a warehouse belonging to a welding suppler and confiscated over 500 cylinders of propane tanks (no propane accessories?). It’s a safe bet that this supplier had orders for these from restaurants with open street shanties to be used for autumn and the coming winter but was suddenly in a bind when the stupid fucking idiot mayor The Blaz signed a law banning the use of them a few days earlier and had nowhere else to store them.

Chalk up 2020 as the Summer Of Guns.

Since Governor Andrew Cuomo declared the coronavirus crushed back in June 5th (or 4th or 6th), the dominant pathogen in the five boroughs this year was the bullet. Which spread like wildfire over the summer bringing this years total to over 1,000 shooting incidents, hitting over 1,200 citizens (including children) leading to 107 deaths in 12 consecutive weeks of gun violence ending in the month of August, a rise of 89 and 97% respectfully and contributing to over 300 murders which has went up by 35% compared to last year.  At the pace it’s continuing as of this writing ,the amount of shootings and victims will eclipse the total amounts of the past two years.

More people are buying bulletproof vests. Must have been when Council Speaker Corey “Cojoke” Johnson described this meteoric rise in gun violence as a health emergency.

The shootings and other serious crimes that have also risen has brought attention and suspicion among the general public and even officials that the NYPD are collectively engaging in a slowdown, because of the low amount of arrests and their late and even lack of responses to crime on the streets. Particularly with the shocking low amount of arrests for gun possession. de Blasio’s NYPD police commissioner’s cites again and again that it’s because of the cuts to the force from the last budget that was partially influenced by the hashtag abolish NYPD constituency. Although signs still legitimately point to the misguided and poorly legislated bail reform laws, recidivist offenders being released on the streets and the city and state’s mandate to release convicts because of the hazardous conditions in prisons being that are not safe from spreading coronavirus and even from Shea’s premature decision to abolish the anti-crime unit tasked to pursue illegal firearms.

But apparently, even with elevated crime levels and funds reallocated from New Yorks Finest, de Blasio’s NYPD still found a lot of expense, personnel and time to settle a few grudges with a few protesters from Black Lives Matter:

Manhattan

In Kips Bay, an 18-year-old transgender woman riding a skateboard during a protest march on 2nd Ave was grabbed by five men who jumped out of a minivan. They turned out to be cops from the NYPD’s plain clothes warrant squad driving in an unmarked vehcile. They looked almost like the anti-crime unit Commissioner Shea disbanded in June.

Aiding this brazen and disturbing rendition on a public space were a squad of cops on bikes that were utilizing their cycles as weapons and shields to thwart witnesses and other protesters from viewing or stopping the arrest. Two of the bike cops ran over a person in their zeal to stop the protesters as the cops sped away with their collar in the van without even a police siren or a light indicating who they were as they cut off a truck when they ran the red light at 23rd St., which is a two way street.

What makes her arrest stunning is the way it was executed and literally choreographed like a scene from a Jason Bourne movie as if they knew she was coming or was being practically hunted by the NYPD for weeks.  The things that probably made this disturbing event possible is from facial recognition technology since she painted over street surveillance cameras that surely grabbed her face while she was vandalizing them and also placing some undercover officers or informants marching with the Abolition Park group and Black Lives Matter marchers, both of which are very likely especially the latter since a man involved with AP was pinched by an undercover for cutting cables under an NYPD van in Bay Ridge. Quite likely another cop posing as a demonstrator infiltrated this one. But they could have easily marked her down too from a Gothamist story featuring the woman at the Occupy City Hall protest 20 days earlier.

Nope, this is yet again another attempt to discourage and intimidate people from protesting against systemic injustices and endemic corruption in government and the enforcers that protect these institutions and the fortification of a police state by utilizing a local police force as central intelligence agency apparatus. If you think the optics of this woman’s arrest looks frightening, watch how the New NYPD literally vanishes a woman talking shit at a cop while drunk outside of a bar:

As for Mayor Big Slow de Blasio, his deliberately belated response to this broad daylight rendition by his police department whose officers did not even read the woman her rights was full of spineless insouciance and abject denial of the command that was implemented for this dystopian display of arbitrary oppression.

As amazing as how NY’s Finest has turned itself into a military junta during this pandemic and societal crisis, it’s equally amazing how the Blaz is able to sit upright without a spine at his daily briefings. In a pathetic show of pseudo objectiveness, he cowardly blew off the severity of the “effecuated” arrest. Which is shocking coming from a person who is always prioritizes optics for every decision he makes, especially regarding the paramilitary and invasive spying tactics of the NYPD.

Which both came to it’s absolute nadir a few weeks later…

In Hell’s Kitchen, the NYPD deployed a battalion of cops to an apartment building to execute an arrest of a man wanted for assaulting a cop by yelling through a megaphone at her ear at a Black Lives Matter counter-protest against a Blue Lives Matter rally and march in Bayside a few days earlier and in another cop’s ear two months before. 30 cops stood guard outside his building and blocked the street from traffic as two NYPD choppers flew overhead. Cops accessed his building and stood in front of and repeatedly banged on his apartment door with a K9 dogs barking trying to intimidate him as other cops arrived from their “Strategic Unit” and tried to negotiate by lying that he had lawyers ready to represent him as the man saw two cops across the street in an apartment building window directly from him.

With all the knuckleheaded determination to persuade the man to surrender with amateur psy-ops, the Black Lives Matter activist refused to open his door and filmed his entire encounter and himself jamming to music on his social media account. The cops then left after six hours without him because they didn’t have a warrant for his arrest. The amount spent for this profligate fruitless pursuit is not known, but this was ordered despite the NYC Council cutting one billion dollars from the NYPD budget. What is also not known is who made the command to hunt this activist down, since Mayor Big Slow de Faustio claimed that Shea had nothing to do with it even though he’s the fucking commissioner.

Despite the Blaz and Shea’s contemptible denials and obfuscations, they spent a huge amount of tax dollars just to settle a grudge and indict a protest organizer. Which falls in line with the billions of dollars at the city’s expense for all the corruption and bigotry driven abuse staining the badge for the last few decades; the exact reason why the citizenry is protesting against every day in the fucking first place.

Also in Hell’s Kitchen, a church had to put up an obstruction in front of their entrance after after a group of homeless people were using the steps to shoot heroin and excrete bowel movements and urinate on them. The superintendent also had to clean up discarded liquor bottles left behind by the derelicts who were residing in a luxury hotel next door in accordance with the city’s policy to housing the homeless in them until the pandemic subsides.

Again in Hell’s Kitchen,  a man got shot at twice in the chin and arm on the street and didn’t reveal who pulled the trigger.

And again in Hell’s Kitchen, a homeless man went raving mad when a restaurant wouldn’t let him use the bathroom and then took his frustrations on two women dining on a table outside and spat on one of their plates. The one time hip bar hopping areas has become a slum with streets of derelicts shooting up, imbibing booze, and fucking and sleeping on the sidewalks.

And again in Hell’s Kitchen, a man bashed a bunch of bottles of juice and soft drinks on his head inside of a deli over and over again while lying prone on the floor. The clerk expressed grief about the growing number of aggressive vagrants frequenting his store because a hotel across the street started housing homeless people that were transferred from shelters.

https://www.westsiderag.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/6D391BC8-1F27-4926-8A2E-D1A3884C54E4-e1588670259681.jpeg

In the Upper West Side, Mayor de Blasio’s Department of Homeless Services shuttled hundreds of homeless people to shelter at three hotels on 77th St., 79th St. and 87th St. near without consulting residents of the town with help from the Federal Emergency Management Agency who contributed 3/4 of the funding to house them to prevent another outbreak of COVID-19. A bulk of the men were recently released from prisons and from a shelter full of men with drug struggles. Six of them turned out to be convicted pedophiles.

Neighborhood residents encountered on their commutes men masturbating, pissing and shitting in public and also shooting heroin, snorting blow, drinking booze and smoking K2 along with blatant drug dealing and derelicts prone on the ground from overdosing in full view on the sidewalks and on the benches on the medians on Broadway. Since the arrival of the city’s most destitute and unwanted and even though they are being housed in luxury rooms it’s led to a proliferation of more people sleeping on the streets and a rise in petty theft, aggressive solicitation and verbal harassment of random passerby including kids. Demands for the NYPD to patrol the nine blocks were these offenses were occurring did not get or even merit a response, even though Commissioner Shea lives exactly 6 blocks south from the area.

Being that drug use and selling went up, it looks like de Blasio wanted to do his own version of Hamsterdam from the fourth season of the Wire (the Blaz is a big fan of that show) by sending all the homeless people to an area where they might be accepted,  where a bulk of residents have liberal values that sympathize with poor people’s struggles and addictions. But it instead turned out that these enlightened residents don’t take too kindly to vices and recidivism when it’s on their blocks, sharing concerns with neighbors who don’t share their views and are reviled and understandably fearful of the presence of drug abuse and crime.  Just like in Hamsterdam, cops hardly responded to offenses committed by the homeless people. Like some kind of immunity because of the pandemic.

In the Wire’s Hamsterdam, the junkies were moved to a block where buildings were mostly vacant so the junkies can have a red light district to sell, cop and shoot up. But de Blasio’s UWS Hamsterdam, the homeless was shipped to a densely populated neighborhood that couldn’t handle the deluge of junkies that came flocking in and naturally didn’t expect the ramifications, because The City elected not to tell them who was coming in. Even about 900 of them. Goes to show that progressive minds can’t block or obscure even the saddest realities of the poverty and despair of people suffering from rampant drug use and fractured mental states and condensing these suffering people in a small area will only lead to disaster if not properly monitored or cared for.

Also the Upper West Side, a man was shot to death on the street from getting blasted in the chest at a playground following a fight with his killer.

Again in the Upper West Side, a man torched a police car that was parked on a block.

And again in the Upper West Side, a man killed himself when he fell five floors after slipping on a fire escape while smoking a cigarette. Homicide was not ruled out.

And again in the Upper West Sideat the 72nd St. Station, a man sneaked up behind a woman on the platform and stabbed her in the shoulder while holding a package of diapers.

And again in the Upper West Side, a 13-year-old boy had his cellphone robbed by another boy who grabbed it while passing by him riding a citibike. The victim is the son of a NYPD Deputy Commissioner in charge of the department’s counter-terrorism unit, a division that actually needs to be defunded.

And again in the Upper West Side, a man shot another man at his groin during a hold up.

And again in the Upper West Side, two men engaged in a shootout on the street and ran when the Guardian Angels tried to catch them.

And again in the Upper West Side, a man was shot in the stomach in the middle of the avenue.

And again in the  Upper West Side, a man pushed an NYPD Chaplain down on the sidewalk and took his wallet, then left it behind and ran away.

And again in the Upper West Side, a man got shot to death in front of an apartment building entrance at the Amsterdam Houses.

In the Lower East Side, a protest march in solidarity with the uprising against Trump’s federal copstapo in Portland went awry as a group of people vandalized and damaged NYPD vehicles and set trash can fires on the streets while body-armored cops kettled and trapped protesters on the street.

Also in Lower East Side, homeless people set up a homestead shanty town village underneath the highway on the FDR drive. When de Blasio’s Sanitation Dept. came by to destroy it and throw everything they organized into the garbage, they returned again the next day and rebuilt their shantytown and fortified it a portion of a chain link fence. Like I said, these people should be administrating new housing infrastructure for the HPD.

In the East Village, a crew of homeless people built a loft apartment on the sidewalk underneath scaffolding where a luxury building is under development.

Mayor de Blasio, who recently proclaimed that he will not tolerate homeless encampments in his city, oh sorry your city, sent his Sanitation Dept. to raid the homestead and throw all the discarded furniture they collected into the garbage trucks. The next day, the same street denizens returned with new furniture and rebuilt their concrete floor homestead after waiting across the street until the coast was clear.

When de Blasio’s Sanitation Dept. wrecked their sidewalk village again, the crafty vagrants moved across the street to the shuttered Orpheum theater and easily reassembled their habitat. Instead of hassling and trying to disappear these people why doesn’t the Blaz contract them and build real affordable housing for the NYC Housing and Preservation Department?

Also in the East Village, a man on liquid courage tried to sit at a outdoor table in front of a trendy restaurant and got violent when a waiter told him they were closing and then he randomly attacked a man with a chair then got into a tussle with two women who were drinking there and slashed them with a metal blade. One of the women who fought him off was the daughter of famed stage and television actor Kelsey Grammar, so it’s no surprise where she got the instinct to deal with a knife handler.

In Midtown between Times and Herald Squares on Broadway, junkies are shooting up and getting loaded on heroin while lounging on the urban garden furniture and passing out on the streets where overpriced eateries used to set up little take out stands for foodies to dine al fresco. One of the Blaz’s spokespeople called this “unacceptable” and then the junkies returned to the urban garden and loaded themselves with the works again. A few weeks later, junkies were discovered shooting up by an non-functioning phone booth around brunch time about a block away.

Also in Midtown, a man plopped a can of paint on de Blasio’s Black Lives Matter mural in front of Trump Tower and spread it all over the slogan despite the mayor’s decision to deploy more cops there to guard it. The seventh time it’s happened. The city left the stain there for a week.

After the city finally cleaned it up, a woman stopped by and splattered the BLM mural again with blue paint. And then she returned dressed as the Statue of Liberty rolling a hand truck down the avenue and did a vandalism hat trick and spilling a bucket of pink paint on the mural. Capping her triumph by yelling the word freedom like Mel Gibson in Braveheart as her co-horts screamed like lunatics and waved Trump re-election signs.

It really says something about the lengths people will show for President Trump and not for the Mayor of New York City, that the Blaz is more loathsome than the guy who blew off the pandemic at its early stages and has left the economy in purgatory. Maybe the next time the idiot Hizzoner wants to manifest of his virtue signal tweets he should go through the proper permit process like his constituency have to instead of brazenly circumventing it thinking no one will notice.

Again in Midtown, a man walked into a designer handbag store and snatched a bunch of purses worth two grand and also a garment bag then flashed a box cutter at a worker and ran. This store is 2 blocks away where 9 cops are guarding the Black Lives Matter mural at Trump Tower from being vandalized.

And again in Midtown, an 18-year-old woman from Wyoming visiting NYC decided to visit the Empire State Building with a gun in her backpack and a man from Louisiana tried to do the same thing the next day. Bad enough there’s a pipeline trafficking guns to NYC that’s going unchecked and these hayseeds come here and think they can just waltz into a heavily guarded landmark tourist attraction with their pieces just because they have permits.

And again in Midtown, two groups of artists got into a brawl over space to sell their works in front of the New York Public Library that escalated when a man tried to bully two women from a corner by yanking a cellphone from one of them, leading them to shoot mace at his face. Then the brute took out a knife and wildly slashed one of the women and also a woman that accompanied him.

And again in the Upper East Side, a man on parole after serving time for burglary got caught in a woman’s apartment trying to burglarize it following two weeks of breaking into other apartments in the vicinity and the Upper West Side, where he stole five grand in jewelry and threatened a resident and robbed him of 90 bucks.

The woman wound up with a fractured spine and is afraid to go back to work.

Also in Greenwich Village, a homeless man built a homestead by the New School building with shopping cars filled with furniture and other items discarded by the rich people who abandoned and moved from New York City. The only thing the man didn’t get from the city’s upper class fugitives was a toilet, as he takes his shits out in the open on the sidewalk.

Again in Greenwich Village at the Christopher St. Station, a man fell between the cars of the 1 train and got stuck under the tracks.

In Hudson Yards at the 34th St. Station, a man with a hammer smashed every window on every car on the 7 train.

The vandal (and maybe an accomplice or two or other vandals) are responsible for damaging over 200 windows on the 7 line as well as the 2 and 3 lines, continuing a vandalism destruction spree for four months and now the MTA is all out of glass.

Yet they have 10,000 bucks to spare for a reward for citizens to catch the hammering vandal, proving that the MTA  is too broke to deploy transit cops to monitor the station. It’s baffling that Governor Cuomo didn’t get the guy who did his COVID grave poster draw up some old-timey most wanted signs.

But even if King Andrew did that (and he could because he runs the MTA) it still wouldn’t deter the recidivist vandal. Despite the bounty the hammering vandal returned to the Hudson Yards Station and pulverized another 20 windows on the 7 train again. The NYPD added another $2,500 to the reward for the recidivist, which they probably dredged from a high brass cops office chair after all the money they spent hunting two protesters in the city.

After getting the NYPD to add to the bounty, the MTA decided to implement their 90’s era broken windows crime prevention strategy to capture the serial window breaker. Duh.

And again in Chelsea, de Blasio’s NotifyNYC social media office announced that they were putting on an elaborate fireworks display on the Hudson River around 8 p.m., but didn’t elaborate what it was for. Then residents were flabbergasted and horrified to hear explosions nearby their homes around 11 p.m because the city rescheduled the spectacle because of inclement weather and they didn’t NotifyNYC of the change. The “show” was for an irrelevant and terrible network’s award show.

de Bastard sternly proclaimed that your city (meaning his and his donor owners) will not tolerate encampments. But thousands of people living on the streets and families living in hotels and residents living in inhumane conditions in public housing is suitably tolerant for him. Dick.

Here’s something I overlooked about the purge incident involving a bunch of high school kids going batshit and vandalizing a CVS store in Forest Hills in the last New Bad Days, the precinct commander Capt. John Cermeli’s even batshit response about the incident on Metropolitan Ave:

“There were still kids around outside of the store but nobody from the CVS management could identify who was actually doing what, so we really couldn’t just arrest anybody,” he said.

The commanding officer added that the students weren’t stealing any items.

“They were just being mischievous,” Cermeli said.

Oh you goofy kids, causing mischief by rioting like that. And thanks for not stealing anything so we don’t have to file another report and put y’all threw booking. The blue wall of insouciance gets bigger and denser.

Days after this incident expectedly went viral, the cop got transferred to another precinct. The vendor wound up dying and the cop wound up in a temporary coma from his injuries. The vendor, who had bipolar disorder, tried to get help with his family’s assistance but the NYC health dept. officials determined that he wasn’t a threat to anyone or himself.

The Oakley-Dolan Affair aka The Redemption Of Charles Oakley

Hardcore

New York, N.Y.

Live from Madison Square Garden, one time known as Run’s House.

Let this ruckus be the first symbolic act against billionaire entitlement. Charles Oakley, legendary power forward and one of the greatest players on the unheralded Knicks dynasty of the 90’s was treated like a common criminal as he was suddenly surrounded by a phalanx of MSG security guards summoned by craven trust fund baby James Dolan. Oakley, who bought his own ticket to attend the game, was informed to relinquish his seat and leave the arena for allegations that he was being a nuisance to the snowflake owner sitting a few rows up and for being inebriated. Oakley claimed that he wasn’t doing anything of the sort nor was he drunk, but Dolan’s security was adamant that he should leave and proceeded to forcibly remove him. The enforcer, visibly shocked at the way he was treated, reacted violently, arguably justified, using the brutal physicality he displayed against the greatest players of all time, like Barkley, Jordan, and Reggie Miller, and started chest pumping and finger jabbing as Dolan’s personal militia and some of the NYPD (you’re welcome, sincerely yours, taxpayers) dragged him out to the aisles and was subsequently arrested and brought downtown, and handed a desk appearance ticket for this ludicrous attack on his legacy and dignity.

The videos are quite revealing from both angles. Showing the preposterous methods by Prince Dolan’s MSG Militia, utilizing tactics that looked disturbingly similar to the handling of the arrest of Eric Garner. Oakley’s shocked reaction at the impugning and denial of his rights as a paying customer to be there. And most of all, Prince Dolan’s reaction as the ruckus exacerbated. He just stands there and watches doing nothing to stop it, almost approvingly and with judgemental smugness, as one of the most dedicated athletes ever to play for the Knicks gets treated worse than a career felon or a rabid dog.

But there are actual reasons for this petty feud, and it mostly doesn’t reflect on the middle-aged manchild billionaire and perennially incompetent CEO, now that it has come to a decisive optically disastrous end.

Back in 2010, Lebron James, the best player in the game today, was about to leave his hometown team and was weighing his options about what team to play for (The Decision). One of those teams was the Knicks. According to a recent profile by the NY Times a few months ago, Oakley, a fellow native of Cleveland, dissuaded James from considering joining the franchise. The aftermath of this correspondence has not been kind to The Enforcer.

Oakley has been estranged from the Knicks organization for years, a rift that stems, at least in part, from Oakley’s inability to keep some of his more caustic opinions to himself. He has, at different times, criticized the team’s front office, coaches and resident stars. In 2010, he advised James to avoid signing with the Knicks in free agency, which hardly endeared him to the organization. He has also called James L. Dolan, the owner, a bunch of bad names.

Oakley may have also unwittingly gave the exalted son of Cablevision a paranoid rationale to keep him away from him, short of filing an actual restraining order. Although it’s apparent where he felt the necessity of having hired personal and tax-payer funded muscle to shield his thin skin and hair plugs.

“The boss don’t like me,” Oakley said last week. “I wouldn’t mind having a sit-down dinner with Dolan. I wouldn’t mind cooking him dinner.” Pause. “Might put something in it, though!” Pause.“I mean, I had at least 15 people try to set up a meeting. He won’t meet. I want to sit down to talk to him. I want me and him in a room. And lock the door. Lock that door!” Another pause. “I mean, he can have the police outside the door.”

Despite the coarse wording and inherit bitterness, which probably stems from being traded to the Toronto Raptors in 1999, and the writer’s illustrative placing of pauses, this was an actual reaching out to negotiate with Dolan and a man’s obvious devotion and appreciation to a team he had his greatest success in, . But like all men who inherited their wealth and position of power, the pathetic aspiring rock star was not having any of it and doubled down on his malignant disrespect. And naturally, meekly using his employees to throw shade on the legendary Knick.

Barry Watkins, a spokesman for Madison Square Garden, said: “The Knicks have fabulous relationships with almost all of our alumni. But when it comes to Charles’s relationship with the organization, he is his own worst enemy.” On Saturday, the Knicks celebrated the franchise’s 70th anniversary by honoring several former players and family members at halftime of their home opener at Madison Square Garden. Oakley was not among them. He cannot understand why he has been exiled. To him, it is beyond comprehension.

Not hard to comprehend anymore. As Jimmy, with the same aplomb that he utilizes his stadium security has his personal goon squad, which he actually did before to Oakley to intimidate him a few years ago, as used this preventable incident to accuse the Knick legend of being mentally unstable, a drunk and banning him from the arena, capping off his vindictive attempt to erase Charles Oakley from the history of the franchise, despite him being a member of the last time the team, although they did not win a title, was one of the most dominant and feared teams in the NBA.

But after this weaselly attempt to trash The Enforcer, Oakley has received support and reverence from all the best players of this era and his fellow legends, and thanks to social media, to universal support from fans old and new. And J.D., dickhead, has now joined the swelling ranks of hated, unmeritorious, self-entitled, tax evading, power tripping and abusing billionaires and the long overdue ire of sports journalism and broadcasters.

Let’s see him try to summon his secret service posse, net worth and his crack p.r. minions protect him from the deluge of jeers and karmic indignation. Although he’ll be a man short because he threw his chief security officer under the bus.

This face saving and ass covering decision, along with Oakley’s humiliation, is going to cost Dolan yet more millions in lawsuit settlements. Not that he has prior experience settling disgraceful embarrassing cases in court before.

Dolan is a very, very small man and a proven loser. And he has unwittingly and stupidly made Charles Oakley a bigger legend, and a working class hero for this desperate age of political strife and still widening economic disparity.

Keep on pushin’ no. 34.
