They don’t make them like him anymore, especially as a playwright and he was a fine character actor especially in his later years. About 15 years ago sat on a bench next to him at Hudson River Park and we chatted a bit. A very unpretentious man of talent.

I wished I was old enough to see his plays. I also did not realize he was in that many films. And the majority of them were good movies.
